After thirty days had passed since their departure from Dawson, Buck and his companions arrived at the town of Skaguay.

The team was carrying mail from the Sult Water area, and the dogs were completely exhausted.

Their legs were hurting them severely, and they no longer had the ability to jump or take off, and they were running with heavy, tired legs on the road.

There was no particular matter with the dogs other than that they were completely exhausted, and it was not the type of exhaustion that comes after a little hard work, and which is cured after a few hours, but it was the exhaustion that comes after several months of continuous hard work.

There was no remaining strength with the dogs, for their power had been completely drained until the last drop, and the strength of every muscle in their bodies had collapsed.

So in less than five months, the dogs had traveled a distance of two thousand five hundred miles, and during the last one thousand eight hundred miles, they only took five days for rest.

And when the dogs arrived at Skaguay, they seemed to be giving the last drops of strength in their bodies. They could barely drag the sled, and in the descending hills, they could hardly remain away from the path of the sled.

The drivers were certain that they would take a long rest, but there were many of the men who rushed to Klondike searching for gold, and many of them did not bring his family with him, which means the presence of much of mail with the official orders.

He watched them with tension while they were trying to remove the tent and load the sled; indeed they were exerting the utmost of their effort but they did not know what they were doing; for indeed they wrapped the tent in a wrap greater by three times than what it ought to be upon, and left the dishes dirty and packed them.

Indeed cut Buck the distance between Sult Water and Dawson four times, and was the idea that he would cut the road himself once other — while he was exhausted in strength in this form — arousing his anger severely, did not he do his work with love, and were the newcomers new afraid, and the team old did not trust in its drivers.
