تَجَارِبُExperiencesجَدِيدَةٌnew
New Experiences
بَعْدَAfterبِضْعَةِa fewأَيَّامٍdays
After a few days,
انْتَهَتِendedالِاحْتِفَالَاتُthe celebrations
the celebrations ended
وَعَادَand returnedالْجَمِيعُeveryoneإِلَىtoالْعَمَلِwork،,
and everyone returned to work,
فَقَدْfor indeedوَصَلَتْarrivedأَوَامِرُordersرَسْمِيَّةٌofficial
official orders had arrived
تُوَجِّهُdirectingفْرَانْسُوَاFrancoisوَبِيرُوand Beroإِلَىtoأَمَاكِنَplacesجَدِيدَةٍnew
directing Francois and Bero to new places,
وَكَانَand it wasعَلَيْهِمَاupon themتَرْكُto leaveفَرِيقِهِمَاtheir teamوَرَاءَهُمَاbehind them،,
and they had to leave their team behind,
نَادَىcalledفْرَانْسُوَاFrancoisبَاكْBakوَاحْتَضَنَهُand hugged himوَبَكَىand cried،,
Francois called Bak, hugged him, and cried,
وَكَانَتْand it wasهَذِهِthisهِيَtheآخِرَlastمَرَّةٍtimeيَرَىseesفِيهَاin itبَاكْBakفْرَانْسُوَاFrancoisوَبِيرُوand Bero؛;
and this was the last time Bak would see Francois and Bero;
فَعَلَىfor likeغِرَارِthe rest ofغَيْرِهِمْothersمِنَofالرِّجَالِthe men،,
for like others of the men,
رَحَلُواthey departedمِنْfromحَيَاةِlifeبَاكْBak'sإِلَىtoالْأَبَدِeternity
they departed from Bak's life forever.
تَوَلَّىTook overرَجُلٌa manاسْكُتْلَنْدِيٌّScottishمَسْئُولِيَّةَthe responsibilityبَاكْof Bakوَزُمَلَائِهِand his colleaguesفِيinالْفَرِيقِthe team،,
A Scottish man took over the responsibility of Bak and his colleagues in the team,
مَعَalong withاثْنَيْtwelveعَشَرَotherفَرِيقًاteamsمِنَofالْكِلَابِdogsالْأُخْرَىthe other
along with twelve other dog teams,
وَبَدَأَand startedفِيonطَرِيقِthe wayالْعَوْدَةِbackإِلَىtoدَاوْسُونْDawson
and started on the way back to Dawson.
لَمْThere was noيَعُدْlongerهُنَاكَthereرَكْضٌrunningخَفِيفٌlight،,
There was no longer light running,
وَلَاnorمُحَاوَلَةٌan attemptلِتَحْقِيقِto achieveرَقْمٍa recordقِيَاسِيٍّnumber،,
nor an attempt to achieve a record,
فَقَطْonlyعَمَلٌworkشَاقٌّhardفِيinكُلِّeveryيَوْمٍday
only hard work every day
مَعَwithحِمْلٍa loadثَقِيلٍheavyعَلَىonالْمِزْلَجَةِthe sled
with a heavy load on the sled.
لَمْHe did notيُحِبَّloveبَاكْBakالْأَمْرَthe matter،,
Bak did not love the matter,
وَلَكِنْbutكَانَhe wasيُمْكِنُهُable toتَنْفِيذُexecuteالْعَمَلِthe work
but he could execute the work
وَالِافْتِخَارُand take prideبِهِin it
and take pride in it.
وَلَكِنَّButأَكْثَرَmost ofمَاwhatكَانَheيُحِبُّهُlovedبَاكْBak
But most of what Bak loved
هُوَwasالِاسْتِلْقَاءُlying downبِجَانِبِnext toالنِّيرَانِthe fires
was lying down next to the fires,
وَأَرْجِلُهُwith his legsالْخَلْفِيَّةُhindمَثْنِيَّةٌfoldedتَحْتَهُunderneath him
with his hind legs folded underneath him
وَالْأَمَامِيَّةُand the front onesمَمْدُودَةٌstretched outأَمَامَهُin front of him،,
and the front ones stretched out in front of him,
وَرَأْسُهُand his headمَرْفُوعَةٌraisedوَعَيْنَاهُand his eyesتَلْمَعَانِshiningعَلَىuponوَهِيجِthe blaze ofالنِّيرَانِthe fires
his head raised and his eyes shining upon the blaze of the fires
بِنَظَرَاتٍwith looksحَالِمَةٍdreamy،,
with dreamy looks,
كَانَhe wouldيُفَكِّرُthinkأَحْيَانًاsometimesفِيofمَنْزِلِthe house ofالْقَاضِيJudgeمِيلَرَMiller
thinking sometimes of Judge Miller's house
فِيinوَادِيthe valley ofسَانْتَاSantaكْلَارَاClara،,
in the Santa Clara Valley,
الَّذِيwhichتَغْمُرُهُbathes inالشَّمْسُthe sun،,
which the sun bathes in,
وَفِيand ofخَزَّانِthe poolالسِّبَاحَةِof swimmingالْأَسْمَنْتِيِّcement،,
and of the cement swimming pool,
وَفِيand ofيَزَابِلَYasabel——الْكَلْبِthe dogالْمِكْسِيكِيِّMexicanالْأَصْلَعِbald——
and of Yasabel — the bald Mexican dog —
وَفِيand ofتُوتْسِTots——كَلْبِthe dogالْبَجِّpugالْيَابَانِيِّJapanese——،,
and Tots — the Japanese pug —
وَلَكِنَّهُbut heكَانَwouldيَتَذَكَّرُrememberأَكْثَرَmore
but he remembered more
الرَّجُلَthe manذَاwithالسُّتْرَةِthe coatالْحَمْرَاءِred،,
the man with the red coat,
وَإِصَابَةَand the injury ofالْكَلْبَةِthe dogكُورْلِيCurly،,
the injury of the dog Curly,
وَالْمَعْرَكَةَand the greatالْكُبْرَىbattleمَعَwithسْبِيتْزِSpitz،,
the great battle with Spitz,
وَالْأَشْيَاءَand the thingsالْجَيِّدَةَgoodالَّتِيthatأَكَلَهَاhe ateأَوْorالَّتِيthatيُرِيدُhe wantedأَنْtoيَأْكُلَهَاeat،,
and the good things he ate or wanted to eat.
لَمْHe did notيَكُنْfeelيَشْعُرُanyبِالْحَنِينِyearningإِلَىforمَنْزِلِهِhis home؛;
He did not feel any yearning for his home;
لَقَدْindeedكَانَwasالْجَنُوبُthe Southبَعِيدًاfarجِدًّاvery
the South was very far away
وَلَمْand didتَكُنْnotذِكْرَيَاتُهُhis memoriesتُؤَثِّرُaffectفِيهِhim؛;
and his memories did not affect him;
بَلْratherكَانَتِwereالْغَرَائِزُthe instinctsالَّتِيthatيَشْعُرُhe feltبِهَاofأَكْثَرَgreaterأَهَمِّيَّةًimportance،,
rather, the instincts he felt were of greater importance,
فَكَانَتْmakingتَجْعَلُthingsأَشْيَاءَthatلَمْhe hadيَرَهَاnever seenمِنْbeforeقَبْلُtoتَبْدُوseemمَأْلُوفَةًfamiliar
making things he had never seen before seem familiar.
كَانَتِThe journeyالرِّحْلَةُwasشَاقَّةًdifficultمَعَwithكُلِّallهَذَاthisالْبَرِيدِmailعَلَىonالْمِزْلَجَةِthe sled،,
The journey was difficult with all this mail on the sled,
وَالْعَمَلُand the workقَدْhadأَنْهَكَexhaustedكُلَّallالْكِلَابِthe dogs،,
and the work had exhausted all the dogs.
فِيInكُلِّeveryلَيْلَةٍnight،,
In each night,
كَانَwasيَتِمُّdoneالِاعْتِنَاءُthe caringبِالْكِلَابِof the dogsأَوَّلًاfirst،,
the dogs were taken care of first,
فَكَانَتْfor theyتَأْكُلُwould eatقَبْلَbeforeالسَّائِقِينَthe drivers
eating before the drivers,
وَلَمْand none of themيَشْرَعْwould beginأَيٌّanyمِنْهُمْof themفِيinتَجْهِيزِpreparingحَقِيبَةِthe bagنَوْمِهِof his sleep
and none of them would prepare their sleeping bag
قَبْلَbeforeأَنْthatيَعْتَنِيَhe caresبِأَقْدَامِfor the feet ofالْكِلَابِthe dogsالَّتِيthatيَقُودُهَاhe leads،,
before tending to the feet of the dogs he leads,
وَمَعَand withذَلِكَthat،,كَانَتْwasقُوَّتُهَاtheir strengthتَخْبُوfading
yet their strength was fading.
فَمُنْذُSinceبِدَايَةِthe beginning ofالشِّتَاءِwinter،,
Since the beginning of winter,
سَافَرَتِtraveledالْكِلَابُthe dogsأَلْفًاone thousandوَثَمَانِمِائَةَand eight hundredمِيلٍmiles
the dogs had traveled one thousand eight hundred miles
وَهِيَwhileتَجُرُّpullingالْمِزْلَجَاتِthe sledsكُلَّallهَذِهِthisالْمَسَافَةِdistance،,
while pulling the sleds all this distance,
وَهَذِهِand thisالْمَسَافَةُdistanceكَفِيلَةٌis enoughبِأَنْtoتُوْهِنَweakenحَتَّىevenأَقْوَىthe strongestالْكِلَابِdogs،,
and this distance is enough to weaken even the strongest dogs.
كَانَWasبَاكْBakمُسْتَمِرًّاcontinuingفِيinالْعَمَلِthe work
Bak was continuing in the work
وَيَحْرِصُand keenعَلَىthatأَنْtoيَقُومَperformزُمَلَاؤُهُhis colleaguesبِعَمَلِهِمْtheir workكَذَلِكَtoo،,
and keen that his colleagues perform their work too,
وَيَتَعَاوَنُونَand cooperatingمَعًاtogetherرُغْمَdespiteأَنَّهُthat heكَانَwasمُرْهَقًاexhaustedهُوَheالْآخَرُtoo،,
cooperating together despite the fact that he too was exhausted.
كَانَWasبِيلِيBillyيَبْكِيcryingوَيَئِنُّand groaningفِيinنَوْمِهِhis sleepكُلِّeveryلَيْلَةٍnight،,
Billy was crying and groaning in his sleep every night,
وَكَانَand wasجُوJoلَئِيمًاmeanerأَكْثَرَmoreمِنْthanذِيbeforeقَبْلُtime،,
and Jo was meaner than before,
وَأَصْبَحَand becameلَاunableيُمْكِنُtoالِاقْتِرَابُapproachمِنْfromسُولِيكْسَSolexمِنْfromأَيِّanyجَانِبٍside،,
and could no longer approach Solex from any side.
وَلَكِنْButمِنْfromبَيْنِamongكِلَابِthe dogs ofالْفَرِيقِthe team،,
But from among the dogs of the team,
كَانَwasدَيْفْDaveأَكْثَرَthe one whoمَنْsufferedيُعَانِيmost،,
Dave was the one who suffered most,
فَفِيforشَيْءٌsomethingمَاwasلَمْnotيَكُنْquiteعَلَىasمَاitيُرَامُshould be،,
for something was not quite as it should be.
لَقَدْIndeedأَصْبَحَhe becameأَكْثَرَmoreتَعَاسَةًmiserableوَغَضَبًاand angry،,
Indeed, he became more miserable and angry,
وَبِمُجَرَّدِand as soon asإِقَامَةِsetting upالْمُخَيَّمِthe camp،,
and as soon as the camp was set up,
كَانَhe wouldيَحْفِرُdigحُفْرَةًa holeلِلنَّوْمِto sleepحَيْثُwhereكَانَwasسَائِقُهُhis driverيُطْعِمُهُfeeding him،,
he would dig a hole to sleep where his driver fed him.
وَكَانَAnd heبِمُجَرَّدِuponتَحَرُّرِهِhis releaseمِنَfromالسَّرْجِthe harnessوَاسْتِلْقَائِهِand lying down،,
And upon his release from the harness and lying down,
لَاwould notيَنْهَضُriseإِلَّاexceptعِنْدَatوَقْتِthe time ofوَضْعِplacingالسَّرْجِthe harnessمُجَدَّدًاagainفِيinالصَّبَاحِthe morning،,
he would not rise except at the time of placing the harness again in the morning.
وَأَحْيَانًاAnd sometimesوَهُوَwhileفِيinالسَّرْجِthe harness،,
And sometimes while in the harness,
عِنْدَمَاwhenكَانَhe wasيَجُرُّpullingالْمِزْلَجَةَthe sledبِقُوَّةٍwith strength،,
when he was pulling the sled with strength,
كَانَhe wouldيَصْرُخُscreamأَلَمًاin pain،,
he would scream in pain,
وَقَدْandتَفَقَّدَهُchecked himالسَّائِقُthe driverوَلَكِنْbutلَمْdid notيَجِدْfindبِهِanyإِصَابَةًinjury،,
and the driver checked him but did not find any injury.
وَعِنْدَAnd uponوُصُولِهِمْtheir arrivalإِلَىatكَاسِيَارْ بَارْCasiar Bar،,
And upon their arrival at Casiar Bar,
كَانَwasدَيْفْDaveضَعِيفًاweakلِلْغَايَةِso veryحَتَّىthatإِنَّهُhe wouldيَسْقُطُfallأَرْضًاdownفِيinالسَّرْجِthe harness،,
Dave was so very weak that he would fall down in the harness.
أَوْقَفَStoppedالسَّائِقُthe driverالْإِسْكُتْلَنْدِيُّScottishالْكِلَابَthe dogs
The Scottish driver stopped the dogs
وَأَخْرَجَand tookدَيْفْDaveمِنَout ofالْفَرِيقِthe team،,
and took Dave out of the team,
فَقَدْforأَرَادَhe wantedأَنْtoيُرِيحَrestدَيْفْDaveوَيَتْرُكَهُand leave himيَرْكُضُrunبِحُرِّيَّةٍfreelyخَلْفَbehindالْمِزْلَجَةِthe sled،,
for he wanted to rest Dave and leave him to run freely behind the sled,
وَرُغْمَAnd althoughأَنَّهُheكَانَwasمَرِيضًاsickلِلْغَايَةِvery،,
And although he was very sick,
لَمْdidيُحِبَّnotدَيْفْDaveأَنْwantيَخْرُجَto get outمِنَofالْفَرِيقِthe team،,
Dave did not want to get out of the team,
فَقَدْforتَذَمَّرَhe murmuredوَزَمْجَرَand grumbledأَثْنَاءَduringإِزَالَةِthe removal ofالسَّرْجِthe harness،,
for he murmured and grumbled during the removal of the harness,
وَتَأَوَّهَand groanedبِحُزْنٍsadlyوَهُوَasيَرَىhe sawسُولِيكْسَSolexفِيinالْمَكَانِthe placeالَّذِيthatكَانَhe hadيَشْغَلُهُoccupiedلِوَقْتٍfor a timeطَوِيلٍlong؛;
and groaned sadly as he saw Solex in the place that he had occupied for a long time;
لَقَدْindeedكَانَwasدَيْفْDaveفَخُورًاproudبِعَمَلِهِof his work،,
indeed, Dave was proud of his work,
حَتَّىso muchإِنَّهُthatرُغْمَdespiteمَرَضِهِhis illnessالشَّدِيدِsevere،,
so much so that despite his severe illness,
لَمْhe couldيَكُنْnotيُطِيقُbearرُؤْيَةَto seeكَلْبٍdogآخَرَanotherيَقُومُperformingبِعَمَلِهِhis work،,
he could not bear to see another dog performing his work.
وَعِنْدَمَاAnd whenبَدَأَتِstartedالْمِزْلَجَةُthe sledتَتَحَرَّكُmovingمَرَّةًonceأُخْرَىmore،,
And when the sled started moving once more,
رَكَضَranدَيْفْDaveفِيinالثَّلْجِthe snow
Dave ran in the snow
وَهُوَwhileيَنْبَحُbarkingتِجَاهَtowardsسُولِيكْسَSolex
barking towards Solex
وَيُحَاوِلُand tryingدَفْعَهُto push himبَعِيدًاawayعَنِfromالطَّرِيقِthe path،,
and trying to push him away from the path.
حَاوَلَTriedالسَّائِقُthe driverأَنْtoيُبْقِيَkeepدَيْفْDaveبَعِيدًاawayعَنِfromالْمِزْلَجَةِthe sled،,
The driver tried to keep Dave away from the sled,
وَلَكِنَّهُbut heلَمْdidيَسْتَطِعْnot،,وَقَدْandجَعَلَهُthat madeذَلِكَhimحَزِينًاsadلِلْغَايَةِvery،,
but he could not, and that made him very sad.
فَقَدْForرَأَىhe sawكَمْhowكَانَmuchدَيْفْDaveيَتَلَهَّفُlongedلِأَنْtoيَكُونَbeضِمْنَpart ofالْفَرِيقِthe team،,
For he saw how much Dave longed to be part of the team,
فَهُوَforرَفَضَhe refusedالرَّكْضَto runبِهُدُوءٍcalmlyخَلْفَbehindالْمِزْلَجَةِthe sledحَيْثُwhereكَانَwasالرَّكْضُrunningسَهْلًاeasy،,
for he refused to run calmly behind the sled where running was easy,
وَظَلَّand keptيَرْكُضُrunningبِجَانِبِbesideالْمِزْلَجَةِthe sledعَلَىonالثُّلُوجِthe snowالنَّاعِمَةِsoft
and kept running beside the sled on the soft snow
حَيْثُwhereكَانَwasالرَّكْضُrunningأَكْثَرَmoreصُعُوبَةًdifficult،,
where running was more difficult,
حَتَّىuntilأُنْهِكَتْwas exhaustedقُوَاهُhis strength،,
until his strength was exhausted,
ثُمَّThenاسْتَلْقَىhe lay downلِيَنَالَto gainقِسْطًاa portionمِنَofالرَّاحَةِrest
Then he lay down to gain a portion of rest
حِينَwhenمَرَّتْpassedبِهِby himبَاقِيthe remainingالْمِزْلَجَاتِsleds،,
when the remaining sleds passed by him.
وَبِكُلِّAnd with allمَاthatتَبَقَّىremainedمِنْofقُوَّتِهِhis strength،,
And with all that remained of his strength,
تَمَكَّنَwas ableدَيْفْDaveمِنَtoاللَّحَاقِcatch upبِالْمِزْلَجَاتِwith the sleds
Dave was able to catch up with the sleds
حَيْثُwhereتَوَقَّفَتْthey stoppedلِلرَّاحَةِfor rest،,
where they stopped for rest,
وَمَرَّand passedبِالْمِزْلَجَاتِthe sledsالْأُخْرَىotherحَتَّىuntilوَجَدَhe foundمِزْلَجَتَهُhis sled،,
and passed the other sleds until he found his sled,
ثُمَّthenوَقَفَstoppedإِلَىbesideجَانِبِside ofسُولِيكْسَSolex،,
then stopped beside Solex.
كَانَWasالسَّائِقُthe driverبَعِيدًاawayلِبِضْعِfor a fewدَقَائِقَminutes،,
The driver was away for a few minutes,
يُحْضِرُbringingوَلَّاعَةًa lighterمِنْfromأَجْلِforغُلْيُونِهِhis pipeمِنَfromالرَّجُلِthe manالَّذِيwhoخَلْفَهُwas behind him،,
bringing a lighter for his pipe from the man who was behind him.
ثُمَّThenعَادَhe returnedإِلَىtoالْمِزْلَجَةِthe sled،,
Then he returned to the sled,
وَبَدَأَتِand startedالْكِلَابُthe dogsرِحْلَتَهَاtheir journey،,
and the dogs started their journey,
وَلَكِنَّهَاbut theyانْطَلَقَتْtook offتَرْكُضُrunningعَلَىonالطَّرِيقِthe roadبِسُهُولَةٍeasily،,
but they took off running on the road easily,
فَالْتَفَتَتْthen turnedوَرَاءَهَاbehind themثُمَّandتَوَقَّفَتْstoppedفِيinدَهْشَةٍastonishment،,
then turned behind them and stopped in astonishment.
وَكَانَتِAndالدَّهْشَةُastonishmentتَعْتَرِيovertookالسَّائِقَthe driverكَذَلِكَtoo؛;
And astonishment overtook the driver too;
فَالْكِلَابُfor the dogsانْطَلَقَتْtook offلَكِنَّbutالْمِزْلَجَةَthe sledلَمْdid notتَتَحَرَّكْmoveمِنْfromمَكَانِهَاits place،,
for the dogs took off, but the sled did not move from its place.
فَنَادَىSo calledالسَّائِقُthe driverعَلَىonالسَّائِقِينَthe driversالْآخَرِينَotherلِرُؤْيَةِto seeمَاwhatحَدَثَhappened؛;
So the driver called on the other drivers to see what happened;
فَقَدْforكَانَhadدَيْفْDaveقَضَمَbittenالسَّرْجَthe harnessالَّذِيthatيَصِلُconnectsسُولِيكْسَSolexبِالْكِلَابِwith the other dogsالْأُخْرَىotherوَبِالْمِزْلَجَةِand with the sled،,
Dave had bitten the harness that connects Solex with the other dogs and the sled,
وَكَانَand wasيَقِفُstandingأَمَامَهَاin front of itبِالضَّبْطِexactly،,
and was standing exactly in front of it.
كَانَHe wasيَتَوَسَّلُpleadingبِعَيْنَيْهِwith his eyesلِيَبْقَىto stayفِيinمَكَانِهِhis place،,
He was pleading with his eyes to stay in his place,
وَلَمْandيَكُنِdidالسَّائِقُthe driverيَدْرِيnot knowمَاذَاwhatيَفْعَلُto do،,
and the driver did not know what to do.
وَأَخَذَAnd startedالسَّائِقُونَthe driversالْآخَرُونَotherيَتَحَدَّثُونَtalkingعَنْaboutكَيْفَhowتَحْزَنُget sadالْكِلَابُdogsعِنْدَمَاwhenيَتِمُّthey areإِبْعَادُهَاremovedعَنِfromالْعَمَلِthe workالَّذِيthatتُحِبُّهُthey love،,
The other drivers started talking about how dogs get sad when they are removed from the work that they love,
وَعَنْand aboutكِلَابٍdogsأُخْرَىotherقَامَتْthat didبِأَفْعَالٍactionsمُشَابِهَةٍsimilar،,
and about other dogs that did similar actions,
وَرَأَوْاand they sawأَنَّهُthatرُغْمَdespiteأَنَّthatدَيْفْDaveكَانَwasمَرِيضًاsickوَمُصَابًاand injured،,
and they saw that despite Dave being sick and injured,
يَنْبَغِيit is fittingلَهُمْfor themتَرْكُهُto leave himيَقُومُperformبِالْعَمَلِthe workإِذَاifأَرَادَhe wantedذَلِكَthat،,
they should leave him to perform the work if he wanted that.
لِذَاThereforeوَضَعُواthey putعَلَيْهِon himالسَّرْجَthe harnessمُجَدَّدًاagain،,
Therefore, they put the harness on him again,
وَقَامَand he proceededبِجَرِّto pullالْمِزْلَجَةِthe sledكَمَاasكَانَheيَفْعَلُdidمِنْbeforeقَبْلُtime،,
and he proceeded to pull the sled as he did before,
وَلَكِنَّهُbut heصَرَخَcried outأَلَمًاin painأَكْثَرَmore thanمِنْonceمَرَّةٍtimeأَثْنَاءَduringعَمَلِهِhis work،,
but he cried out in pain more than once during his work,
وَسَقَطَand fellعِدَّةَseveralمَرَّاتٍtimesوَهُمْwhile theyيَرْكُضُونَwere running،,
and fell several times while they were running.
تَمَاسَكَHe held onدَيْفْDaveحَتَّىuntilأَقَامُواthey set upمُخَيَّمَهُمْtheir campفِيonتِلْكَthatاللَّيْلَةِnight،,
Dave held on until they set up their camp on that night,
حَيْثُwhereأَقَامَmadeلَهُfor himالسَّائِقُthe driverمَكَانًاa placeبِجَانِبِbesideالنِّيرَانِthe fire،,
where the driver made a place for him beside the fire.
وَفِيAnd inالصَّبَاحِthe morningكَانَhe wasوَاهِنًاweakلِلْغَايَةِveryوَلَاand couldيَسْتَطِيعُnotالسَّفَرَtravel،,
And in the morning he was very weak and could not travel,
وَاضْطُرَّand was forcedالسَّائِقُthe driverلِتَرْكِهِto leave himخَلْفَهُbehindحَتَّىuntilيَرْتَاحَhe restsوَيَتَحَسَّنَand recovers،,
and the driver was forced to leave him behind until he rests and recovers,
وَكَانَتْand it wasآخِرَthe lastمَرَّةٍtimeيَرَاهُsees himزُمَلَاؤُهُhis colleaguesفِيهَاin itوَهُوَwhileمُسْتَلْقٍlyingفَوْقَuponالثُّلُوجِthe snow،,
and it was the last time his colleagues saw him lying upon the snow,
يُرَاقِبُهُمْwatching themوَهُمْwhile theyيَرْحَلُونَdepartفِيonطَرِيقِهِمْtheir way،,
watching them while they depart on their way,
فَكَانَandيُمْكِنُهُمْthey couldسَمَاعُهُhear himوَهُوَwhileيَعْوِيhowlingبِحُزْنٍsadlyحَتَّىuntilاخْتَفَوْاthey disappearedمِنْfromأَمَامِهِbefore himخَلْفَbehindبَعْضِsomeالْأَشْجَارِtreesبِجَانِبِbesideالنَّهْرِthe river
and they could hear him howling sadly until they disappeared from before him behind some trees beside the river.
