And of the evidence that faith does not get lifted by the great sin is the saying of God, the Exalted: "If a wicked person comes to you with news, then verify it."

And the meaning in it is that faith is in the heart and sins are in the limbs, and they are in two different places, so they do not contradict; and his saying: Indeed, we command what is good and forbid what is wrong.

This is an issue between us and the compulsion in it is a disagreement because they do not see us commanding what is good and forbidding what is wrong.

And she argued with his saying, the Exalted: "Whoever strays will not harm you if you are rightly guided." We said, the verse is in the negation of the harm, and with it we say that the harm of sin does not exceed the sinner, as Allah, the Exalted, said: "And not will a bearer of burdens bear the burden of another."
