And the daughter of Shaysban drew near to her, and she is the oldest of the girls in the village in age, and the most experienced among them, and she approached the little girl who was growing up, playing with her, saying: "Oh, what a beautiful one! She surpasses, despite her smallness, the daughters of her kind in beauty and loveliness."

Let us call her since today: 'mother of Mazin', and let us call her that, to honor her with this nickname, and we will differentiate her from her friends among the daughters of the village.

وَكانَتْAnd she was«أُمُّ مازِنٍ»‘Umm Mazin’كَإِخْوَتِهاlike her siblingsجَمِيعًاall togetherمِنَ النَّمْلِof antsمِثالًاa modelلِلنَّشاطِfor activityوالْجِدِّand diligenceوالمُثابَرَةِ،and perseverance,تَتَلأْلأُshiningفِيinرَأْسِهاher headالْجَمِيلِthe beautifulعُيُونٌeyesخَمْسٌfiveبَرَّاقَةٌ،bright,ثِنْتانِtwoمِنْهاof themكَبِيرَتانِbig onesعَلَىonجانِبَيْsidesرَأْسِهِا،of her head,وَثَلاثٌand threeصَغِيرَةٌsmallفيinوَسَطِthe center ofجَبْهَتِها.her forehead.

‘Umm Mazin’ was, like all her siblings from the ants, a model for activity, diligence, and perseverance, shining in her beautiful head are five bright eyes, two of which are big on the sides of her head, and three small ones in the center of her forehead.

And will not miss me to inform you about her small protruding horns in her head. And perhaps you know that the horns for ants are like hands for human beings; for indeed each of them is suitable for touching things.

And "the mother of Mazin" had left her village for the first time in her life.

Then she walked in her way — returning to her home — after she completed her outing. And she continued walking slowly, at a slow pace in a road filled with gravel, meeting in her path, from the colors of fatigue and suffering, what no one else could endure.

Nor is there any wonder in that, for indeed, the small pebbles that were obstructing 'Um Mazin' in her way are — in truth — towering mountains in comparison to her!

انْظُرُواLookإِلَيْها،at her,وهيَand sheتَمْشِيwalksجادَّةًwith determinationمُسْرِعَةًquicklyفيinسَيْرِها،her walk,عَلَىas much asقَدْرِthe amount ofماwhatتَسْتَطِيعُshe canأَقْدامُهاher feetالنَّحِيفَةُthinالْمُتَناهِيَةُthat are endlessفيinالضَّآلَةِ.weakness.

Look at her as she walks determinedly and quickly in her walk, as much as her thin feet can.

وَتَأَمَّلُواAnd contemplateكَيْفَhowتَلْمُسُtouchالأَرْضَthe groundبِأَحَدِwith one ofقَرْنَيْهاits hornsقَبْلَbeforeأَنْtoتَخْطُوَstepخُطْوَةًa stepواحِدَةًoneفَهِيَFor it isتَتَحَسَّسُsensesالأَشْياءَthingsبِقَرْنِهاwith its hornالأَيْمَنِthe rightمَرَّةًonceوَandبِقَرْنِهاwith its hornالأَيْسَرِthe leftمَرَّةًonceأُخْرَىanotherمُسْتَهِينَةًunderestimatingبِكُلِّwith allماwhatتَلْقاهُshe encountersفيِinطَرِيقِهاits pathمِنَfromالْعَقَباتِobstaclesوالْمَصاعِبِand difficultiesمُتَقَدِّمَةًadvancingفيinصَبْرٍpatienceوandمُثابَرَةٍperseveranceلاnoمَثِيلَsimilarلَهُماto bothحَتَّىuntilتَبْلُغَshe reachesغايَتَهاits goalأَوْorتَمُوتَdieدُونَهاwithout it

And contemplate: how does it touch the ground with one of its horns before taking a single step? It senses things with its right horn once, and with its left horn another time, underestimating everything it encounters in its path from obstacles and difficulties, advancing—in patience and perseverance like no other—until it reaches its goal, or dies without it!

وَكانَتْAnd she was«أُمُّMotherمازِنٍ»Mazinتُحَدِّثُtalkingنَفْسَها،to herself,قائِلَةً:saying:«ياOhلَهاhowمِنْofطَرِيقٍroadمُتْعِبَةٍexhaustingشاقَّةٍ!difficult!فَلَيْسَFor there is noيَخْلُوfreeمَكانٌplaceفِيهاin itمِنْofحُفْرَةٍ،pit,أَوْorهاوِيَةٍ،a chasm,أَوْorأُخْدُودٍ.a trench.

And she was 'Um Mazin' talking to herself, saying: 'Oh how exhausting and difficult is this road! For there is no place in it free from a pit, or a chasm, or a trench.'

And indeed, 'Mother Mazin' spoke the truth in what she told herself, for the treacherous, fearful road requires the skill of the ant and her determination, to come out from it safe from every evil, so that not one of her legs may be broken, nor may she be harmed by any damage.

ولَقَدْAnd indeedأَصابَhe hitوَصَدَقَand he was truthfulمَنْwhoسَمَّاهاnamed itنَمْلَةًant

And indeed, he hit and was truthful who named it an ant.

So she is — in the truth — many of the inertia, constantly in movement. So no wonder if they called it this name, which indicates movement and activity!
