King Lear

King Lear – A Simplified Arabic Adaptation

This adaptation of King Lear tells the story of the legendary King of Britain who, in his old age, decides to divide his kingdom among his three daughters: Goneril, Regan, and Cordelia.

When Cordelia refuses to flatter him like her sisters, Lear banishes her, not realizing her love is the most sincere. Cordelia marries the King of France, while her sisters betray their father and take control of the kingdom.

As war breaks out between France and England, Cordelia returns to save her father, but they are captured. In the end, Lear discovers the truth about his daughters' loyalty — too late.
