Abu al-Abbas al-Azdi recited to me in the Wafir meter:
Indeed, the dog of the people, if you think about them,
is more harmful to you than the dog of dogs.
Because the dog you scold it and it retreats,
while the dog of the people crouches ready for blame.
And that the dog does not harm a companion,
while you are forever in torment from this.

Death approached a Bedouin while a dog was at the side of his tent, so he said to his eldest son in the Munsarih meter:
I advise you well regarding it, for indeed it has
good deeds whose praise I will never cease.
It guides my guest to me in the darkness of the night
when the stoker of the fire is asleep.
