وَاللَّهُAnd Allahتَعَالَىthe Exaltedغَنِيٌّis free of needعَمَّfrom that whichسِوَاهُis besides Him
And Allah the Exalted is free of need from that which is besides Him.
لَكِنَّButهُمَاthey (two) areبِالنِّسْبَةِin regard toلِلْمَخْلُوقِthe created beingكَمَالٌperfection
But they are, in regard to the created being, perfection.
وَلِهَذَاAnd for this reasonإِذَاifكَانَit isالْإِنْسَانُthe humanلَاdoes notيَأْكُلُeat؛;فَلَاthen there mustبُدٌّbe no escapeأَنْtoيَكُونَbeعَلِيلًاsicklyبِمَرَضٍwith a diseaseأَوْorنَحْوَهُthe like؛;هَذَاThisنَقْصٌis a deficiency
And for this reason, if the human does not eat, then there must be no escape from being sickly with a disease or the like; this is a deficiency.
الْفَرْقُThe difference..
The difference.
وَالنَّوْمُAnd sleepبِالنِّسْبَةِin relation toلِلْخَالِقِthe Creatorنَقْصٌis a deficiency؛;وَلِلْمَخْلُوقِand for the created beingكَمَالٌperfection؛;فَظَهَرَThus, it appearsالتَّكَبُّرُarroganceكَمَالٌis perfectionلِلْخَالِقِfor the Creatorوَنَقْصٌand a deficiencyلِلْمَخْلُوقِfor the created being؛;لِأَنَّهُbecause itلَاdoes notيَتِمُّcompleteالْجَلاَلُthe grandeurوَالْعَظَمَةُand greatnessإِلَّاexceptبِالتَّكَبُّرِby arroganceحَتَّىuntilتَكُونَit becomesالسَّيْطَرَةُcontrolكَامِلَةًcomplete,,وَلَاand noأَحَدٌoneيُنَازِعُهُcontests it
And sleep, in relation to the Creator, is a deficiency; and for the created being, it is perfection; thus, it appears that arrogance is perfection for the Creator and a deficiency for the created being; because the grandeur and greatness cannot be complete except by arrogance until control becomes complete, and no one contests it.
وَلِهَذَاAnd for this reasonتَوَعَّدَGod has promisedاللَّهُAllahتَعَالَىthe Exaltedمَنْwhoeverيُنَازِعُهُcontests himالْكِبْرِيَاءِarroganceوَالْعَظَمَةِand greatness؛;قَالَHe saidأَمَنْ"Whoever challengesنَازَعَنِيMe regardingوَاحِدٌoneمِنْهُمَاof themعَذَّبْتُهُwill be punished
And for this reason, Allah the Exalted has promised whoever contests Him regarding arrogance and greatness; He said: "Whoever challenges Me regarding one of them will be punished."
فَالْمُهِمُّThe important thingأَنَّهُis thatلَيْسَnotكُلُّallكَمَالٍperfectionفِيinالْمَخْلُوقِthe created beingيَكُونُisكَمَالًاperfectionفِيinالْخَالِقِthe Creator،,وَلَاnorكُلُّallنَقْصٍdeficiencyفِيinالْمَخْلُوقِthe created beingيَكُونُisنَقْصًاa deficiencyفِيinالْخَالِقِthe Creator،,إِذَاifكَانَit isالْكَمَالُperfectionأَوْorالنَّقْصُdeficiencyاعْتِبَارِيًّاis subjective
The important thing is that not all perfection in the created being is perfection in the Creator, nor is all deficiency in the created being deficiency in the Creator, if perfection or deficiency is subjective.
