وَإِنَّand ifكَانَwasعَائِداًreturningإِلَىtoالرَّسُولِthe Messengerعَلَيْهِupon himالصَّلَاةَthe prayerوَالسَّلاَمَand peace؛ فَإِنَّمَاthen indeedيُظْهِرُshowsاللَّهُAllahرَسُولَهُHis Messengerلَأَنَّbecauseمَعَهُwith himدِيناًa religionالْحَقِّthe truth
And if he is returning to the Messenger, peace be upon him; then indeed Allah shows His Messenger because he has the religion of truth.
وَعَلَىAnd onكِلَاbothالتَّقْدِيرَيْنِestimations؛ فَإِنَّthenمَنْwhoتَمَسَّكَholds firmlyبِهَذَاto thisالدِّينِreligionالْحَقِّthe truth؛ فَهُوَhe isالظَّاهِرُthe apparentالْعَالِيُthe highest، وَمَنْand whoeverابْتَغَىsoughtالْعِزَّةَgloryفِيinغَيْرِهِothers؛ فَقَدْhe hasابْتَغَىsoughtالْذُّلَّhumiliation؛ لَأَنَّهُbecause heلَاthere is noظُهُورٌappearanceوَلَاand noعِزَّةٌgloryوَلَاand noكَرَامَةٌdignityإِلَّاexceptبِالدِّينِby the religionالْحَقِّthe truthوَلِهَذَاAnd this is whyأَنَاIأَدْعُوكُمْcall youمَعْشَرَO groupالإِخْوَةِof brothersإِلَىtoالْتَّمَسُّكَthe adherenceبِدِينِto the religionاللَّهِof Allah.ظَاهِراًopenlyوَبَاطِنًاand inwardlyفِيinالْعِبَادَةِworshipوَالسُّلُوكِand conductالْمِلَّةِof the communityالْأُمَّةِthe nation.وَالأَخْلَاقِand morals، وَفِيand inالدَّعْوَةِthe callإِلَيْهَاto it,حَتَّىuntilتَقُومَit standsوَتَسْتَقِيمَand becomes upright.
And on both accounts; whoever holds firmly to this religion of truth; he is the apparent high one, and whoever seeks glory in others; has sought humiliation; because there is no appearance nor glory nor dignity except by the religion of truth. And this is why I call you, O group of brothers, to adhere to the religion of Allah openly and inwardly in worship, conduct, the community, and morals, and in calling to it, until it stands and becomes upright.
**قَوْلُهُHis saying: وَكَفَى: And sufficientبِاللَّهِwith Allahشَهِيداًas a witness”:
*His saying: "And sufficient is Allah as a witness":
يَقُولُونَThey sayأَهْلُthe peopleاللُّغَةِof language:إِنَّIndeed,الْبَاءِthe letter "b"هُنَاhereزَائِدَةٌis extra,لِتَحْسِينِto beautifyالْلَّفْظِthe expression,وَالْمُبَالَغَةِand to intensifyفِيinالكِفَايَةِthe sufficiency,وَأَصْلُهَاand its origin: وَكَفَىis: And sufficientاللَّهُAllah
They say: "the people of language: Indeed, the letter 'b' here is extra, to beautify the expression, and to intensify the sufficiency, and its origin is: 'And sufficient is Allah.'
