ثَالِثًاThirdثُمَّThenنَقُولُwe say::مَاWhatهُوَisالْحَدُّthe limitوَالْجِسْمُand the bodyالَّذِيthatأَجْلَبْتُمْyou broughtعَلَيْنَاupon usبِخَيْلِكُمْwith your stinginessوَرِجَالِكُمْand your menفِيهَاin it
Third: Then we say: What is the limit and the body that you brought upon us with your stinginess and your men in it?
أَتُرِيدُونَDo you wantبِالْحَدِّby the limitأَنْthatشَيْئًاsomethingمِنَofالْمَخْلُوقَاتِthe creaturesيُحِيطُsurroundsبِاللَّهِAllah?!!
Do you want by the limit that something of the creatures surrounds Allah?!
فَهَذَاThis isبَاطِلٌfalseوَمُنْتَهًand negationعَنِaboutاللَّهِAllahوَلَيْسَand notبِلَازِمٍnecessaryمِنْofإِثْبَاتِprovingالْعُلُوِّthe loftinessلِلَّهِfor Allahأَوْorتُرِيدُونَyou wantبِالْحَدِّby the limitأَنْthatاللَّهَAllahبَايِنَdistinctمِنْfromخَلْقِهِHis creationغَيْرَnotحَالٍpresentفِيهِمِin them
This is false and a negation about Allah, and it is not necessary to prove loftiness for Allah, or do you want by the limit that Allah is distinct from His creation not present in them?
فَهَذَاThis isحَقٌّrightمِنْfromحَيْثُwhereالمَعْنَىthe meaning،,وَلَكِنْbutلَاnotنَطْلِقُwe pronounceلَفْظَهُthe wordنَفْيًاnegationوَلَاand notإِثْبَاتًاaffirmation؛;لِعَدَمِfor lackوُرُودِof the mentionذَٰلِكَthat
This is right in terms of its meaning, but we do not pronounce the word as negation or affirmation; for the lack of its mention.
وَأَمَّاAs forالْجِسْمُthe body؛;فَنَقُولُWe sayمَاذَاwhatتُرِيدُونَdo you wantبِالْجِسْمِby the body؟?
As for the body; we say: What do you want by the body?
أَتُرِيدُونَDo you wantأَنْهُthat it isجَسَمٌa bodyمُرَكَّبٌcomposedمِنْfromعَظْمٍboneوَلَحْمٍand fleshوَجِلْدٍand skinوَنَحْوِand similarذَٰلِكَthat
Do you want that it is a body composed of bone, flesh, and skin and similar things?
فَهَذَاThis isبَاطِلٌfalseوَمُنْتَهٌand negationعَنْaboutاللَّهِAllah؛;لَأَنَّbecauseاللَّهَAllahلَيْسَis notكَـمَثَلِهِlike Himشَيْءٌanythingوَهُوَand He isالسَّمِيعُthe All-Hearingالْبَصِيرُthe All-Seeing
This is false and a negation about Allah; because Allah is not like anything, and He is the All-Hearing, the All-Seeing.
أَمْOrتُرِيدُونَdo you wantبِالْجِسْمِby the bodyمَاwhatهُوَisقَائِمٌself-sustainingبِنَفْسِهِby itselfمُتَّصِفٌcharacterizedبِمَاwith thatيَلِيقُis fittingبِهِfor Him::فَهَذَاThis isحَقٌّrightمِنْfromحَيْثُwhereالمَعْنَىthe meaning,,لَكِنَّbutلَاnotنَطْلِقُwe pronounceلَفْظَهُthe wordنَفْيًاnegationوَلَاand notإِثْبَاتًاaffirmation؛;لِمَاfor whatسَبَقَhas passed
Or do you want by the body what is self-sustaining, characterized by what is fitting for Him? This is right in terms of its meaning, but we do not pronounce the word as negation or affirmation; for what has passed.
وَكَذَٰلِكَAnd likewiseنَقُولُwe sayفِيaboutالْجِهَةِthe direction؛;هَلْDoتُرِيدُونَyou wantأَنْthatاللَّهَAllahتَعَالَىthe Exalted
And likewise we say about the direction; do you want that Allah, the Exalted, has a direction that surrounds Him?
فَهَذَاThis isبَاطِلٌfalseوَلَيْسَand notبِلَازِمٍnecessaryمِنْofإِثْبَاتِهِits proofعُلُوٍّloftinessأَمْorتُرِيدُونَdo you wantجِهَةًa directionعُلُوٍّelevationلَاnotتُحِيطُsurroundsبِاللَّهِAllah؟?
This is false and not necessary as proof of His loftiness or do you want a direction of elevation that does not surround Allah?
فَهَذَاThis isحَقٌّrightلَاnotيَصِحُّis correctنَفْيُهُa denial of itعَنْaboutاللَّهِAllahتَعَالَىthe Exalted
This is right; denying it about Allah, the Exalted, is not correct.
الْآيَةُThe verseالثَّانِيَةُthe second::قَوْلُهُHis saying﴿﴿بَلْBalaرَفَعَهُHe raised himاللَّهُAllahإِلَيْهِto Him﴾﴾[[النِّسَاءِthe Women::١٥٨158
The second verse: His saying: "Bala, Allah raised him to Him." (Surah An-Nisa, 158)
