مَلِكٌkingوَلَاnorوَزِيرٌministerوَلَاnorرَئِيسٌpresidentمَهْمَاno matterكَانَتْwasعَظَمَةٌgreatnessمَلَكِيَّتُهُمْtheir kingshipوَرَئَاسَتُهُمْand their presidencyوandوَزَارَتُهُمْ؛their ministry;لِأَنَّbecauseاللَّهَAllahسُبْحَانَهُGlory be to Himلَيْسَis notلَهُfor Himمَثَلٌexample
Neither a king, nor a minister, nor a president, no matter how great their kingship or presidency and ministry; because Allah, Glory be to Him, has no equivalent.
الْآيَةُthe verseالثَّانِيَةُthe secondعَشَرَةُtenقَوْلُهُHis sayingقُلْSayإِنَّمَاIndeedحَرَّمَforbadeرَبِّيَmy Lordالْفَوَاحِشَthe immoral actsمَاwhatظَهَرَappearedمِنْهَاfrom themوَمَاand whatبَطَنَhiddenوandالإِثْمَthe sinوandالْبَغْيَtransgressionبِغَيْرِwithoutالْحَقِّtruthوَأَنْand thatتُشْرِكُواyou associateبِاللَّهِwith Allahمَاwhatلَمْdid notيُنَزِّلْrevealبِهِwith itسُلْطَانًa proofوَأَنْand thatتَقُولُواyou sayعَلَىaboutاللَّهِAllahمَاwhatلَاnotتَعْلَمُونَyou know
The twelfth verse: His saying: 'Say, indeed my Lord has forbidden immoral acts, what has appeared of them and what is hidden, and sin, and transgression without right, and that you associate with Allah what He has not revealed with any authority, and that you say about Allah what you do not know.' (Al-A'raf: 33)
قُلْSayالْخِطَابُthe addressلِلْنَّبِيِّ؛to the Prophet;أَيٌّ؛that is;قُلْsayمُعْلِنًاproclaimingلِلْنَّاسِ.to the people.
Say: the address is to the Prophet; that is, say proclaiming to the people.
أَحَلَّmade lawfulاللَّهُAllahإِنَّمَاonlyأَدَاةٌa toolحَصْرٌto restrictوَذَٰلِكَand thatلِمُقَابَلَةِto counterتَحْرِيمِforbiddingمِنْfromحَرَامٍwhat is forbiddenمَاwhatوَحَرَّمَ؛forbade;بِمَعْنَى:meaning:مَنْعٍ،to prevent,وَأَصْلٌand the rootهَذِهِof thisالْمَادَّةُmaterial(ح(HرRم)M)تَدُلُّinducesعَلَىonالْمَنْعِ،the ban,ومِنْهَاand from itحَرِيمٌsanctuaryالْبِئْرِof the wellلِلْأَرْضِto the landالَّتِيwhichتَحْمِيْهِاprotects itحَوْلَهَا؛around it;لِأَنَّهَاbecause itيَمْنَعُprohibitsمِنَfromالتَّعَدِّيtransgressionعَلَيْهَا.on it.
Allah made lawful. Indeed, it is a particle, a restriction to counter the forbidding of what is forbidden; meaning: to prevent, and the root of this material (H R M) indicates the prohibition, and hence the sanctuary of the well for the land which protects it around it; because it prohibits trespassing upon it.
الْفَوَاحِشَthe immoral actsفَاحِشَةٌ،immorality,جَمْعٌpluralوَهيَand it isالذَّنْبُthe sinالَّذِيwhichيَسْتَفْحِشُ؛is disgraceful;مَثَلٌsuch asالزِّنَاadulteryوَاللُّوَاطُ.and sodomy.
The immoral acts are immorality, a plural, and it is the sin which is disgraceful; such as adultery and sodomy.
الزِّنَا؛adultery;قَالَsaidاللَّهُAllahفِيْهِin it﴿(وَلَاand do notنَقْرَبُواapproachالزِّنَىadulteryإِنَّهُindeedكَانَwasفَاحِشَةًa disgraceful act
Adultery; Allah said in it: 'And do not approach adultery, indeed it was a disgraceful act.'
وَفِيAnd inاللُّوَاطِ؛sodomy;قَالَsaidلُوطٌLutلِقَوْمِهِto his peopleأَتَأْتُونَDo you approachالْفَحِشَةَ﴾the disgraceful act﴾[الْأَعْرَافِ[Al-A'raf::٣٢32]
And in sodomy; Lut said to his people: 'Do you approach the disgraceful act?' (Al-A'raf: 32)
وَمِنَAnd fromالزِّنَاadulteryأَنْthatيَتَزَوَّجَone marriesالْإِنْسَانُa personامْرَأَةًa womanلَاnotتَحِلُّlawfulلَهُfor himلِقَرَابَةٍdue to kinshipأَوْorرَضَاعٍbreastfeedingأَوْorمُصَاهَرَةٍ؛marriage relation;قَالَsaidاللَّهُAllahتَعَالَى:The Exalted said:﴿(وَلَاand do notتَنْكِحُواmarryمَاwhatنَكَحَmarriedءَابَاؤُكُمyour fathersمِنَfromالنِّسَاءِthe womenإِلَّاexceptمَاwhatقَدْalreadyسَلَفَprecededإِنَّهُindeedكَانَwasفَاحِشَةًa disgraceful actوَمَقْتًىand a reproachوَسَاءَand is badسَبِيلًا）way)
And from adultery is that a person marries a woman who is not lawful for him due to kinship or breastfeeding or marriage relation; Allah, The Exalted said: '(And do not marry what your fathers married, except what has already preceded; indeed it was a disgraceful act and a reproach and is a bad way)'.
