وَقَسَمَAnd a partآخَرَotherقَالُواsaidنِصْفَهُwe take half of itبِالنَّفْيِby denialوَلَاand notنِصْفَهُwe take half of itبِالإِثْبَاتِby affirmationيَعْنِيmeaning::أَنَّهُمْthat theyيَجُوزُونَallowأَنْthatتُسْلَبَis strippedعَنْfromاللَّهِGodسُبْحَانَهُ وَتَعَالَىGlory be to Him and Exaltedالْصِّفَاتِthe attributes,,لَكِنَbutلَاnotتُثْبِتُis affirmedيَعْنِيmeaning::لَاnotنَقُولُwe say::هُوَHeحَيٌّis alive,,وَإِنَّمَاbut ratherنَقُولُwe say::لَيْسَis notبَمَيْتٍdead!!وَلَاand notنَقُولُwe say::عَلِيمٌAll-Knowing,,بَلْratherنَقُولُwe say::لَيْسَis notبِجَاهِلٍignorant......وَهكَذَاand so onقَالُواthey said::لَوْifأَثْبَتَyou affirmلَهُfor Himشَيْئًاsomething;;شَبَّهْتَهُyou would resemble Himبِالْمَوْجُودَاتِto the existents;;لِأَنَّهُbecauseعَلَىuponزَعْمِهِمْtheir claimكُلَّallالْأَشْيَاءِthingsالْمَوْجُودَةِthat existمُتَشَابِهَةٌare similar؛;فَأَنْتَso youلَاnotتُثْبِتُaffirmلَهُfor Himشَيْئًاanything,,وَأَمَّاas forالنَّفْيِthe denial؛;فَهُوَit isعَدَمٌnon-existence؛;أَنَّthatالْمَوْجُودَthe existingفِيinالْكِتَابِthe scriptureوَالسُّنَّةِand the Sunnahفِيinصِفَاتِthe attributesاللَّهِGodمِنْofالإِثْبَاتِthe affirmationأَكْثَرَmoreمِنْthanالنَّفْيِthe denialبِكَثِيرٍby muchمَعَwithقِيلَwas saidلَهُمْto them::إِنَّthatاللَّهَGodقَالَsaidعَنْaboutنَفْسِهِHimself::سَمِيعٌAll-HearingبَصِيرٌAll-Seeing!!قَالُواthey said::هَذَاthisمِنْofبَابِthe categoryالإِضَافَاتِthe additions;;بِمَعْنَىmeaning::نُسِبَwas attributedإِلَيْهِto Himالسَّمْعُthe hearing,,لَاnotلِأَنَّهُbecauseمُتَصِفٌdescribedبِهِwith itوَلَكِنَّbutلِأَنَّbecauseلَهُfor HimمَخْلُوقًاcreatureيَسْمَعُHe hears;;فَهُوَit isمِنْofبَابِthe categoryالإِضَافَاتِthe additions;;فـso(سَمِيعٌ)(All-Hearing)؛;يَعْنِيit means::لَيْسَis notلَهُfor Himسَمْعٌhearing,,لَكِنَّbutلَهُfor Himمَسْمُوعٌlisteningوَجَاءَand cameطَائِفَةٌa groupثَانِيَةٌanother؛;قَالُواthey said::هَذِهِtheseالْأَوْصَافُthe descriptorsلِمَخْلُوقَاتِهِof His creatures,,وَلَيْسَتْand notلَهُfor Him,,أَمَّاas forهُوَHeفَلَاdoes notيُثْبِتُaffirmed..وَقَسَمَAnd a partثَالِثٌthirdقَالُواthey said::يُثْبِتُونَaffirmلَهُfor Himالأَسْمَاءَthe namesدُونَwithoutالْصِّفَاتِthe attributes,,وَهَذَانِكَand theseهُمْareالْمُعْتَزِلَةُthe Mu'tazilaأَثْبَتُواaffirmedأَسْمَاءَthe namesاللَّهِof God؛;قَالُواthey said::إِنَّthatاللَّهَGodسَمِيعٌAll-HearingبَصِيرٌAll-SeeingقَدِيرٌAll-PowerfulعَلِيمٌAll-KnowingحَكِيمٌWise......لَكِنَّbutقَدِيرٌAll-Powerfulبِلَاwithoutقُدْرَةٍpower,,سَمِيعٌAll-Hearingبِلَاwithoutسَمْعٍhearing,,بَصِيرٌAll-Seeingبِلَاwithoutبَصَرٍsight,,عَلِيمٌAll-Knowingبِلَاwithoutعِلْمٍknowledge,,حَكِيمٌWiseبِلَاwithoutحِكْمَةٍwisdomوَقَسَمَAnd a partرَابِعٌfourthقَالُواthey said::نُثْبِتُwe affirmلَهُfor Himالأَسْمَاءَthe namesحَقِيقَةًthe truth,,وَنُثْبِتُand we affirmلَهُfor Himصِفَاتٍattributesمُعَيَّنَةًcertainدَلَّ عَلَيْهَاwhich are indicated byالْعَقْلِthe mindوَنُنكِرُand we denyالْبَاقِيَthe rest؛;نُثْبِتُwe affirmلَهُfor Himصِفَاتٍthe attributesسَبْعٍsevenفَقَطْonly,,وَالْبَاقِيَand the restنُنْكِرُهَاwe deny itتَحْرِيفًاdistortionلَاnotتَكْذِيبًاdisproval;;لِأَنَّهُمْbecause theyلَوْifأَنْكَرُوهُthey denied itتَكْذِيبًاdisproval؛;
2 - Another group said we affirm half by negation and half by affirmation; meaning: they allow the stripping of attributes from Allah, but do not affirm them; meaning: we do not say: He is alive, but rather we say: He is not dead! And we do not say: All Knowing, but rather we say: He is not ignorant ... and so on. They said: If you affirm something for Him; you would resemble Him to the existents; because, according to them, all existing things are similar; thus, you do not affirm anything for Him. As for the negation; it is non-existence; since what exists in the Book and Sunnah regarding Allah's attributes is much more than the negation.

With was said to them: Indeed, God said about Himself: All-Hearing, All-Seeing! They said: This is of the additions; meaning: the hearing has been attributed to Him, not because He is described by it but because there is a creature that hears; so it is of the additions; so (All-Hearing) means: He does not have hearing, but He has what is heard. And a second group came; they said: These descriptions are of His creatures, and not for Him, as for Him, no attribute is affirmed.
