ٱلْبُخَارِيُّAl-Bukhariوَandغَيْرَهُothersأَعْوَرٌone-eyedٱلْعَيْنُthe eyeٱلْيُمْنَىrightكَأَنَّas ifعَيْنَهُhis eyeعُنَبَةٌa grapeطَافِيَةٌfloating
Al-Bukhari and others: "One-eyed (in the right eye), as if his eye were a floating grape."
وَذَٰلِكَthisوَاضِحٌclear
And this is clear.
وَلَاnorيُقَالُis saidأَيْضًاalsoأَعْوَرٌone-eyedبِٱللُّغَةِin the languageٱلْعَرَبِيَّةِArabicإِلَّاexceptلِعَوَرٍfor the defectٱلْعَيْنِthe eyeأَمَّاas forإِذَاifقِيلَit is saidعَوَرٌdefectأَوْorعَوَارٌdefect/maladyفَرُبَّمَاit may beيُرَادُintendedبِهِtherebyمُطْلَقٌabsoluteٱلْعَيْبُdefect
And it is not said either: 'one-eyed' in Arabic; except for the defect of the eye. As for if it is said: 'defect' or 'malady'; it may be intended for a general defect.
وَهَذَاthisٱلْحَدِيثُthe hadithيَدُلُّindicatesعَلَىthatأَنَّthatاَللهُAllahتَعَالَىthe Exaltedعَيْنَيْنِtwo eyesٱثْنَتَيْنِtwoفَقَطْonly
And this hadith indicates that Allah, the Exalted, has only two eyes.
وَandوَجْهُthe aspectٱلدَّلَالَةُof indicationأَنَّهُthat Heلَوْifكَانَwasللهِfor Allahأَكْثَرَmore thanمِنْthanٱثْنَتَيْنِtwoلَكَانَit would beٱلبيَانُthe statementبِهِwith itأَوْضَحَclearerمِنْthanٱلبيَانُthe statementبِالْعَوَرِby the defectلَأَنَّهُbecauseلَوْifكَانَwasللهِfor Allahأَكْثَرَmore thanعَيْنَيْنِtwo eyesلَقَالَHe would sayإِنَّthatرَبَّكُمْyour Lordلَهُhasأَعْيُنٌeyesلِأَنَّهُbecauseإِذَاifكَانَwasلَهُfor Himأَعْيُنٌmore than twoأَكْثَرُthanمِنْfromثَنتَيْنِtwoصَارَit becameوُضُوحٌclarityأَنَّthatٱلدَّجَّالَthe Antichristلَيْسَis notأَبْيَنَclearer
And the aspect of indication is that if Allah had more than two, the statement with them would have been clearer than the statement about the defect; because if Allah had more than two eyes, He would say: 'Indeed your Lord has eyes.' Because if he was having more than two eyes, it became clear that the Antichrist is not clearer than Him.
وَأَيْضًاAnd alsoلَوْifكَانَwasللهِfor Allahعَزَّ وَجَلَّthe Mighty and Majesticأَكْثَرَmore thanمِنْthanعَيْنَيْنِtwo eyesلَكَانَit would beذَٰلِكَthatمِنْfromكَمَالِهِHis perfectionوَكَانَand leavingتَرْكُitذِكْرَهُmentioningتَفْوِيْتًاmissedلِلثَّنَاءِfor the praiseعَلَىonاَللهِAllahلَأَنَّbecauseٱلكَثْرَةُthe manyتَدُلُّindicatesعَلَىonٱلْقُوَّةِthe strengthوَٱلكَمَالِand perfectionوَٱلتَّمَامِand completenessفَلَوْand ifكَانَwasللهِfor Allahأَكْثَرَmore thanعَيْنَيْنِtwo eyesلَأَكَّدَهُنَّhe would have clarified themٱلرَّسُولُthe Messengerعَلَيْهِupon himٱلصَّلَاةُthe prayerوَٱلسَّلاَمُand peaceلِئَلَّاso that notيَفُوتَنَاwe missاِعْتِقَادَthe beliefهَذَاthisٱلْكَمَالُperfectionوَهُوَand it isٱلزَّائِدُexceedingعَلَىoverٱلْعَيْنَيْنِtwo eyes
And also: if Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, had more than two eyes; that would have been from His perfection, and leaving the mention of it would be missing out on praising Allah; because the many indicates strength and perfection and completeness, so if Allah had more than two eyes, the Messenger would have clarified them; so that we do not miss the belief in this perfection, which exceeds the two eyes.
وَذَكَرَAnd mentionedإِبْنُIbnٱلْقَيِّمِal-Qayyimرَحِمَهُmay have mercyاَللهُAllahفِيinكِتَابِهِhis bookٱلصَّوَاعِقِThe Thunderboltsٱلْمُرْسَلَةِsentحَدِيثًاa hadithلَكِنَّهُbut itضَعِيفٌweakلِانْقِطَاعِهِdue to its interruptionوَهُوَand it isإِنَّthatٱلْعَبْدَthe servantإِذَاifقَامَstandsفِيinٱلصَّلَاةِthe prayerقَامَstandsبَيْنَbetweenعَيْنَيthe eyesٱلرَّحْمَنِthe Merciful
And Ibn al-Qayyim, may Allah have mercy on him, mentioned in his book 'The Thunderbolts' a hadith, but it is weak due to its interruption; and it is that the servant, if he stands in prayer, stands between the eyes of the Merciful.
عَيْنَيَّmy eyesهَذَانِtheseتَثْنِيَةٌdualلَكِنَّbutٱلْحَدِيثُthe hadithتَقَدَّمَhas proceededتَخْرِيجُهُits verificationفِيinٱلْحَدِيثِthe hadithٱلسَّابِقِprevious
'My eyes' - these are dual; but the hadith has proceeded in its verification in the previous hadith.
ذَكَرَهُHe mentioned itإِبْنُIbnٱلْقَيِّمِal-Qayyimفِيinكِتَابِهِthe bookٱلصَّوَاعِقِthe Thunderbolts(٢٥٦)(256)
He mentioned it, Ibn al-Qayyim, in the book 'The Thunderbolts' (256).
وَقَالَAnd saidٱلْأَلْبَانِيُّAl-Albaniفِيinٱلضَّعِيفَةِthe weak(١٠٢٤)(1024)ضَعِيفٌweakجِدًّاveryرَوَاهُnarratedٱلْعُقَيْلِيُّAl-Aqiliفِيinٱلضُّعَفَاءِthe weakص (٢٤)p. (24)وَٱلْبَزَّارُand Al-Bazzarفِيinمُسْنَدِهِhis Musnad= ٣١٣= 313
And Al-Albani said in the weak (1024): "It is very weak, narrated by Al-Aqili in the weak (24), and Al-Bazzar in his Musnad = 313."
