The parties: 4, and not for a woman likewise.

وَاحْتَجُّواand they arguedأَيْضًاalsoبِقَوْلِby the sayingاللَّهِAllahتَعَالَىthe Exalted::﴿(فَإِنَّfor ifكَانَthere isلَهُfor himإِخْوَةٌbrothersفَلِأُمِّهِthen for his mother

And they argued also by the saying of Allah the Exalted: "For if he has brothers, then for his mother."

السُّدُسُthe sixth]][[النِّسَاءُthe women::١١11]]؛;

"The sixth" [the women: 11];

فَـthenإِخْوَةٌbrothersجَمْعٌ،is plural,وَالْمُرَادُand the intendedبِهِby itاثنانtwo

Then, "brothers" is plural, and the intended meaning is two.

وَاحْتَجُّواand they arguedأَيْضًاalsoبِأَنَّthatجَمَاعَةَcongregationالصَّلَاةِof prayerتَحَصَّلَis obtainedبِاثْنَيْنِwith two

And they argued also that the congregation of prayer is obtained with two.

وَلَكِنَّbutجُمْهُورٌthe majorityأَهْلُof the peopleاللُّغَةِof languageيَقُولُونَthey sayإِنَّthatأَقَلُّthe leastالْجَمْعَof gatheringثَلاثَةٌ،three,وَإِنْand ifخُرُوجَthe exitالْجَمْعِthe gatheringإِلَىtoالِاثْنَيْنِthe twoفِيinهَذِهِthisالنُّصُوصِtextsلِسَبَبٍ،for a reason,وَإِلَّاotherwiseفَإِنَّthe leastأَقَلُّthe leastالْجَمْعَof gatheringفِيinالْأَصْلِthe originثَلاثَةٌthree

But the majority of the people of language say that the least gathering is three, and if the gathering goes to two in these texts for a reason, otherwise the least gathering in origin is three.

وَإِمَّاorأَنْthatنَقُولُ:we say:إِنَّthatالْمُرَادَthe intended meaningبِهَذَاby thisالْجَمْعَgatheringالتَّعْظِيمَ؛is glorification;تَعْظِيمَglorificationهَذِهِthisالْيَدَhandوَلَيْسَand notالْمُرَادَthe intended meaningأَنْthatلِلَّهِfor Allahتَعَالَىthe Exaltedأَكْثَرَmoreمِنْthanاثْنَتَيْنِtwo

Or we say that the intended meaning by this gathering is glorification; glorification of this hand and not meaning that Allah the Exalted has more than two.

ثُمَّthenإِنَّthatالْمُرَادَthe intended meaningبِالْيَدِby the handهُنَاhereنَفْسُitselfالذَّاتِthe essenceالَّتِيthatلَهَاhasيَدٌ،a hand,وَقَدْand hasقَالَsaidاللَّهُAllahتَعَالَىthe Exalted::وَظَهَرَتْand appearedالْفَسَادُthe corruptionفِيinالْبَرِّthe landوَالْبَحْرِand the seaبِمَاbecause of whatكَسَبَتْearnedأَيْدِيthe handsالنَّاسِof the people

Then the intended meaning by the hand here is the essence that has a hand, and Allah the Exalted said: "And appeared the corruption in the land and the sea because of what the hands of the people earned."

أَيْ:that is:بِمَاbecause of whatكَسَبُوا؛they earned;سَوَاءًwhetherكَانَit wasمِنْfromكَسْبِearningالْيَدِthe handأَوْorالرَّجُلِthe footأَوْorاللِّسَانِthe tongueأَوْorغَيْرِهَاothersمِنْfromأَجْزَاءِpartsالْبَدَنِof the bodyلَكِنَّbutيُعَبَّرُis expressedبِمِثْلِlikeهَذَاthisالتَّعْبِيرُexpressionعَنِaboutالْفَاعِلِthe doerنَفْسِهِitself.

That is: because of what they earned; whether it was from the earning of the hand or the foot or the tongue or others from the parts of the body, but it is expressed like this about the doer itself.

وَلِهَذَاAnd for thisنَقُولُwe say::إِنَّthatالْأَنْعَامَthe cattleالَّتِيwhichهِيَareالْإِبِلُthe camelsلَمْnotيَخْلُقْهَاHe created itاللَّهُAllahتَعَالَىthe Exaltedبِيَدِهِ،with His hand,وَفَرَّقَAnd it is differentبَيْنَbetweenقَوْلِهِ:His saying:﴿(مِمَّاof whatعَمِلَتْthey didأَيْدِينَاour hands,،,وَبَيْنَand betweenقَوْلِهِthe saying::لِمَاof whatخَلَقْتُI createdبِيَدَيَّ؛with My hands;فَThus:﴿(مِمَّاof whatعَمِلَتْthey didأَيْدِينَا؛our hands;كَأَنَّهَاas ifقَالَتْ:it said:مِمَّاof whatعَمَلْنَا؛we have done;لَأَنَّbecauseالْمُرَادَthe intended meaningبِالْيَدِby the handذَاتِselfاللَّهِAllahالَّتِيthatلَهَاhasيَدٌa handوَالْمُرَادُand the intended meaningبِـbyبِيَدَيَّ)My hands)::الْيَدَانُthe two handsدُونَwithoutالذَّاتِthe essence

And for this, we say: that the cattle, which are the camels, Allah the Exalted did not create them by His hand, and it is different between His saying: "of what our hands did," and between His saying: "of what I created with My hands;" thus: "of what our hands did;" as if it said: of what we have done; because the intended meaning is by the hand of Allah that has a hand, and the intended meaning by 'My hands': the two hands without the essence.

وَبِهَذَاAnd with thisيَزُولُis removedالإِشْكَالُthe difficultyفِيinصِفَةِthe attributeالْيَدِthe handالَّتِيwhichوَرَدَتْoccurredبِالْإِفْرَادِin the singular

And with this, the difficulty in the attribute of the hand which occurred in the singular is removed.
