اللَّهُGodتَعَالَىexaltedالسَّمَاوَاتِthe heavensبِيمِينِهِby His right handوَالأَرْضِand the earthبِيدِهِby His handالأُخْرَىthe other
God, exalted be He, created the heavens with His right hand and the earth with His other hand.
قَالَHe said::كِلْتَىBothيَدَيَّof My handsيَمِينٌare right
He said: Both of My hands are right.
وَلَمْAnd He did notيَذْكُرmentionأَكْثَرَmore thanمِنْthanاثْنَتَيْنِtwo
And He did not mention more than two.
وَأَجْمَعَAnd the early generations agreedالسَّلَفُthe Salafعَلَىthatأَنْthatلِلَّهِfor Allahيَدَيْنِtwo handsاثْنَتَيْنِtwoفَقَطْonlyبِدُونِwithoutزِيَادَةٍincrease
And the early generations agreed that Allah has only two hands without increase.
فَعِندَنَاSo we haveالنَّصُّthe textمِنَfromالْقُرْآنِthe Quranوَالسُّنَّةِand the Sunnahوَالإِجْمَاعِand the consensusعَلَىthatأَنْthatلِلَّهِfor Allahتَعَالَىexaltedيَدَيْنِtwo handsاثْنَتَيْنِtwoفَكَيْفَSo howنَجْمَعُdo we combineبَيْنَbetweenهَذَاthisوَبَيْنَand betweenالجَمْعِthe collectionمِمَّاof that whichعَمِلَتْour hands didأَيْدِينَاour hands[يس:[Ya-Sin:٧١]؟!71]?!
So we have the text from the Quran, the Sunnah, and consensus that Allah, exalted be He, has two hands; so how do we combine this with the collection of 'that which our hands did' [Ya-Sin: 71]?!
فَنَقُولُSo we say::الجَمْعُThe collectionعَلَىis onأَحَدِone ofالْوَجْهَيْنِthe two ways
So we say: The collection is on one of the two ways.
فَإِمَّاEitherأَنْthatنَقُولَwe sayبِمَاaccording to whatذَهَبَsome wentإِلَيْهِto itبَعْضُsomeالْعُلَمَاءِscholars;;مِنْOfأَنْthatأَقَلُّthe leastالْجَمْعَthe collectionاثْنَانِtwoوَعَلَيْهِand thereforeفَـSoأَيْدِينَاOur handsلَاdo notتَدُلُّindicateعَلَىonأَكْثَرَmore thanمِنْthanاثْنَتَيْنِtwo;;يَعْنِيmeaning::لَاnotيَلْزَمُnecessaryأَنْtoتَدُلَّindicateعَلَىonأَكْثَرَmoreمِنْthanاثْنَيْنِtwoوَحِينََئِذٍAnd thenتَطَابَقَmatchesالتَّثْنِيَةُthe dual form::﴿﴾بَلْRatherيَدَاهُHis handsمَبْسُوطَتَانِare both outstretched
Either we say as some scholars went to the opinion that the least collection is two; accordingly, our hands do not indicate more than two; meaning: it is not necessary that they indicate more than two, and then, it matches the dual form: ﴾ Rather, His hands are both outstretched.
وَلَاAnd noإِشْكَالٌdoubtفِيهِin it..
And no doubt in it.
فَإِذَاSo ifقُلْتَyou saidمَاwhatحُجَّةٌevidenceهَؤُلَاءِtheseعَلَىonأَنْthatالْجَمْعُcollectionأَقَلُّهُis at leastاثْنَانِtwo
So if you say, what is the evidence of these [scholars] on that the collection is at least two?!
فَالْجَوَابُThe answerاحْتَجُّواis that they have citedبِقَوْلِهِwith His sayingتَعَالَىexalted﴿﴾إِنَّIndeedتَنُوبَاif both turnإِلَىtoاللَّهِAllahفَقَدْthen indeedصَغَتْtheir hearts have leanedقُلُوبُكُمَاyour hearts
The answer is that they have cited His saying, exalted be He: 'Indeed, if both turn to Allah, their hearts have leaned' [At-Tahrim: 4]; and they are two, and 'hearts' is plural, and it refers to only two hearts; due to His saying, exalted be He: 'Allah did not make for any man two hearts in his interior.'
