Is it after this that it is said, as the Jews said, "Is the Hand of Allah restrained?"
لَاNoوَاللَّهِby Allahبَلْbutيُقَالُit is saidإِنَّthatيَدَيَّmy HandsاللَّهAllahعَزَّthe Exaltedوَجَلَّand Majestic.مَبْسُوطَتَانِare outstretchedبِالْعَطَاءِwith givingوَالنِّعَمِand the blessingsالَّتِيthatلَاnotتُعَدُّcountedوَلَاand notتُحْصَىenumerated.
No, by Allah, but it is said: The Hands of Allah the Exalted and Majestic are outstretched with giving and the blessings that cannot be counted or enumerated.
لَكِنْButإِذَاifقَالُواthey sayلِمَاذَاwhyأَعْطَىhe gaveزَيْدًاZaidوَلَمْand did notيُعْطِgiveعَمْرًاAmr?
But if they say: Why did He give Zaid and not give Amr?
قُلْنَاWe said:لِأَنَّbecauseاللَّهَAllahتَعَالَىthe Exaltedلَهُto Himالْسُّلطَانَthe Sovereigntyالْمُطْلَقَabsoluteوَالحِكْمَةَand the wisdomالْبَالِغَةَperfect.
We said: Because Allah the Exalted has absolute sovereignty and perfect wisdom.
وَلِهَذَاAnd for this reason,قَالَHe saidرَدًّاin responseعَلَىtoشُبْهَتِهِمْtheir doubt:وَيُنْفِقُAnd He spendsكَيْفَhowيَشَاءُHe wills;
And for this reason, He said in response to their doubt: "And He spends how He wills;"
فَمَنSo some ofالنَّاسِthe peopleمِمَّنْofيُعْطَىgive himكَثِيرًاmuch,وَمِنْهُمْand among themمِمَّنْsome ofيُعْطَىgive himقَلِيلًاa little,وَمِنْهُمْand among themمِمَّنْsome ofيُعْطَىgive himوَسَطًا؛in moderation;تَبَعًاaccording toلِمَاwhatتَقْتَضِيrequiresالْحِكْمَةُthe wisdomعَلَىthatأَنْthatهَـٰذَاthisالَّذِيthatأُعْطِيَwas givenقَلِيلًاlittleلَيْسَis notمَحْرُومًاdeprivedمِنْofفَضْلِthe favorاللَّهِof Allahوَعَطَائِهِand His givingمِنْfromجِهَةٍthe sideأُخْرَى؛another;فَإِنَّFor Allahأَعْطَاهُgave himصِحَّةًhealthوَسَمْعًاand hearingوَبَصَرًاand sightوَعَقْلًاand intellectوَغَيْرَand otherذَٰلِكَthan thatمِنْfromالنِّعَمِthe blessingsالَّتِيthatلَاnotتُحْصَى،enumerated,وَلَكِنَّbutلِطُغْيَانِdue to the oppressionالْيَهُودِof the Jewsوَعَدْوَانِهِمand their aggression,وَأَنَّهُمْand that theyلَمdid notيُنَزِّهُواexaltاللَّهَAllahعَنْfromصِفَاتِthe attributesالْعَيْبِ،of defect,قَالُوا:they said:يَدُThe Handاللَّهِof Allahمَغْلُولَةٌis restrained.
So due to the oppression and aggression of the Jews, and that they did not exalt Allah from the attributes of defect, they said: The Hand of Allah is restrained.
فَالْآيَتَانِThus the two versesالسَّابِقَانِmentioned earlierفِيهِمَاin themإِثْبَاتُaffirmingصِفَةِthe attributeالْيَدَيْنِof the two Handsلِلَّهِ.of Allah.
Thus the two verses mentioned earlier affirm the attribute of the two Hands of Allah.
وَلَكِنْButقَدْthere may beيَقُولُsomeone saysقَائِلٌa speakerإِنَّthatاللَّهَfor Allahأَكْثَرَmoreمِنْthanيَدَيْنِ؛two Hands;لِقَوْلِهِas His sayingتَعَالَى:the Exalted:أَوَلَمْDid notيَرَوْاthey seeأَنَّاthat Weخَلَقْنَاcreatedلَهُمْfor themمِّمَّاof whatعَمِلَتْour HandsأَيْدِينَاOur Handsنِعَمًاblessings"
But there may be someone who says that Allah has more than two Hands; as He says the Exalted: "Did not they see that We created for them of what our Hands had made blessings?"
فَأَيْدِينَاSo Our HandsهُنَاhereفَلْنَأْخُذْLet us takeبِهَذَاwith thisالْجَمْعَ؛the plural;لِأَنَّنَاbecause weإِذَاifأَخَذْنَاwe takeبِالْجَمْعِ؛in the plural;أَخَذْنَاwe tookبِالْمُثَنَّىin the dual;جَمْعًا؛and plural;وَزِيَادَةً؛and increase;فَمَاSo whatهُوَisالْجَوَابُ؟the answer?
So Our Hands here let us take with the plural; because if we take in the plural; we took in the dual; and the plural; and increase; so what is the answer?
