So these are four types of punishment, and the fifth is his saying: 'And prepared for him a great punishment.'

Five punishments; one of them is sufficient for deterrence and warning for whoever has a heart.

But it is problematic for the methodology of the people of the Sunnah to mention eternity in the fire; where it was arranged upon killing and killing is not disbelief, nor is there eternity in the fire among the people of the Sunnah except by disbelief.

وَأُجِيبَAnd it was respondedعَنْaboutذَٰلِكَthatبِعَدَّةِwith severalأَوْجُهٍ:aspects:

And it was responded about that with several aspects:

الْوَجْهُThe first aspectالْأَوَّلُ:is that:أَنَّthatهَذِهِtheseفِيinالْكَافِرِthe disbelieverإِذَاwhenقَتَلَhe killedالْمُؤْمِنَ!the believer!

The first aspect is that this is in the disbeliever when he kills the believer!

خَالِدًاeternalلَكِنَّButهَذَاthisالْقَوْلُsayingلَيْسَis notبِشَيْءٍ؛of anything;لِأَنَّbecauseالْكَافِرَthe disbelieverجَزَاؤُهُhis punishmentجَهَنَّمُis Hellفِيَهَاin itوَإِنْand ifلَمْhe did notيَقْتُلْkillالْمُؤْمِنَ :the believer:﴿إِنَّ﴿IndeedاللَّهَAllahلَعَنَhas cursedالْكَافِرِينَthe disbelieversوَأَعَدَّand preparedلَهُمْfor themسَعِيرًاa blazing fire *خَالِدِينَeternalفِيهَاin itأَبَدًاforever,لَاnotيَجِدُونَthey will findوَلِيًّاa protectorوَلَاand norنَصِيرًا)a supporter) [Al-Ahzab: 64-65] .

But this saying is of nothing; because the disbeliever's punishment is Hell in it, and if he did not kill the believer: ﴿Indeed Allah has cursed the disbelievers and prepared for them a blazing fire * They will remain in it eternally; they will not find a protector or supporter) [Al-Ahzab: 64-65].

الْوَجْهُThe second aspectالثَّانِي:is that:أَنَّthatهَذَاthisفِيْمَنis for whoeverاسْتَحَلَّtakes permissibility inالْقَتْلَ؛killing;لِأَنَّbecauseالَّذِيhe whoيَسْتَحِلُّtakes permissibilityقَتْلَto killالْمُؤْمِنِthe believerكَافِرٌ!is a disbeliever!

The second aspect is that this is for whoever takes permissibility in killing; because he who takes permissibility in killing the believer is a disbeliever!

وَعَجَبَAnd Imam Ahmad was amazedالإِمَامُthe ImamأَحْمَدُAhmadمِنْatهَذَاthisالْجَوَابِ؛response;قَالَhe said:كَيْفَHowهَذَا؟!is this?!إِذَاIfاسْتَحَلَّhe takes permissibilityقَتْلَهُ؛to kill him;فَهُوَthen he isكَافِرٌa disbelieverوَإِنْand ifلَمْhe did notيَقْتُلْهُ،kill him,وَهُوَand he isمُخَلَّدٌeternalفِيinالنَّارِthe fire,,وَإِنْand ifلَمْhe did notيَقْتُلْهُ.kill him.

And Imam Ahmad was amazed at this response; he said: 'How is this?! If he takes permissibility to kill him; then he is a disbeliever, and if he did not kill him, he is eternal in the fire, and if he did not kill him.'

وَلَاAnd notيَسْتَقِيمُthis response is rightهَذَاthisالْجَوَابُresponseأَيْضًا.also.

And this response is not right either.
