أَرْحَمُThe most mercifulمَاwhatيَكُونُisمِنَofالْخَلْقِcreationبِالْخَلْقِwith creationرَحْمَةًmercyالْأُمِّthe motherوَلَدِهَا؛her child;فَإِنَّfor ifرَحْمَةَthe mercyالْأُمِّof the motherوَلَدِهَاher childلَاnotيُسَاوِيهَاequal to itشَيْءٌanythingمِنْfromرَحْمَةِmercyالنَّاسِpeopleأَبَدًا،ever,حَتَّىevenالْأَبُthe fatherلَاnotيَرْحَمُhave mercyأَوْلَادَهُhis childrenمِثْلَlikeأُمِّهِمْtheir motherفِيinالْغَالِبِ.most cases.
The most merciful of creation is the mercy of a mother for her child; for the mercy of a mother for her child is unmatched by anything from the mercy of people ever, even the father does not have mercy on his children like their mother in most cases.
جَاءَتْA woman cameامْرَأَةٌa womanفِيinالسَّبْيِcaptivityتَطْلُبُrequestingوَلَدَهَاher childوَتَبْحَثُand searchingعَنْهُ،for him,فَلَمَّاwhenرَأَتْهُ؛she saw him;أَخَذَتْهُshe took himبِشَفَقَةٍwith compassionوَضَمَّتْهُand embraced himإِلَىtoصَدْرِهَاher chestأَمَامَin front ofالنَّاسِthe peopleوَأَمَامَand in front ofالرَّسُولِthe Prophetعَلَيْهِpeace be upon him,الصَّلَاةِpeaceوَالسَّلَامِ،and safety,فَقَالَhe saidالنَّبِيُّthe Prophetﷺ:(peace be upon him):«أَتَرَوْنَ"Do you seeأَنَّthatهَذِهِthisالْمَرْأَةَwomanطَارِحَةًthrowingوَلَدَهَاher childفِيintoالنَّارِ؟"the fire?"قَالُوا:They said:لَاnoوَاللَّهِby GodيَاO,رَسُولَProphet!اللهِ.God.قَالَ:He said:«لِلَّهِ"Godأَرْحَمُis more mercifulبِعِبَادِهِto His servantsمِنْthanهَذِهِthisبِوَلَدِهَاwith her child (1).
A woman came in captivity requesting her child and searching for him, and when she saw him; she took him with compassion and embraced him to her chest in front of the people and in front of the Prophet, peace be upon him. The Prophet said: “Do you see this woman throwing her child into the fire?” They said: "No, by God, O Messenger of God." He said: "God is more merciful to His servants than this woman is to her child (1).
جَلَّGlory beجَلَالَهُto His majestyوَعِزٍّand the mightمُلْكِهِof His kingdomوَسُلْطَانِهِ.and His dominion.
Glory be to His majesty and might of His kingdom and dominion.
كُلُّAllالرَّاحِمِينَ؛the merciful;إِذَاifجَمَعَتْthey gatheredرَحْمَاتِهِمtheir merciesكُلَّهُمْ؛all of them;فَلَيْسَتْthey are notبِشَيْءٍanythingعِندَatرَحْمَةِthe mercyاللَّهِ.of God.
All the merciful; if they gathered all their mercies together; it would be nothing compared to the mercy of God.
وَيَدُلُّكَAnd it indicatesعَلَىtoهَذَاthisأَنَّthatاللَّهَGodعَزَّthe Mightyوَجَلَّand Gloriousخَلَقَcreatedمِئَةَone hundredرَحْمَةً،mercies,وَوَضَعَand placedمِنْهَاof themرَحْمَةًa mercyوَاحِدَةًoneيَتَرَاحَمُthat they may have mercyبِهَاwith itالْخَلَائِقُcreaturesفِيinالدُّنْيَا(٢).the world(2).
And it indicates that God, the Mighty and Glorious, created one hundred mercies, and He placed one mercy among them that creatures might have mercy with it in the world (2).
كُلُّAllالْخَلَائِقِcreaturesتَتَرَاحَمُinteract with mercyالْبَهَائِمِthe animals,وَالْعُقَلَاءِ،and the wise,وَلِهَذَاand for this reasonتَجِدُyou findالْبَعِيرَthe camelالْجَمُوحَthe unrulyالرُّومُوحَthe fierceتَرْفَعُraisingرَجُلَهَاits legعَنْfromوَلَدِهَاher childمَخَافَةًfor fearأَنْthatتَصِيبَهُit may hurt himعِندَمَاwhenيَرْضَعُhe sucklesحَتَّىuntilيَرْضَعُhe sucklesبِسُهُولَةٍeasilyوَيُسْرٍ،and comfort,وَكَذَلِكَand likewiseتَجِدُyou findالسُّبُعَاتِthe fierce animals
All creatures have mercy for one another, even the animals and the wise; and for this reason, you find the unruly camel raising its leg from her child for fear that it may hurt him when he suckles, until he suckles easily and with comfort, and likewise you find the fierce animals.

(٢)(2)لَمَّاAs narratedرَوَىbyالْبُخَارِيُّAl-Bukhari(٦۰۰٠)(6000),وَمُسْلِمٌand Muslim(٢٧٥٢)؛(2752);عَنْfromأَبِيAbuهُرَيْرَةَHurairaرَضِيَmay Allah be pleasedاللَّهُGodعَنْهُ،with him,قَالَ:he said:سَمِعْتُI heardرَسُولَthe Messengerاللَّهِof Godﷺ(peace be upon him)يَقُولُ:saying:جَعَلَHe madeاللَّهُGodالرَّحْمَةَmercyمِئَةًhundredجُزْءً،parts,فَأَمْسَكَso He withheldعِندَهُwith Himتِسْعَةًninetyوَتِسْعِينَand ninetyرَحْمَةً،mercies,وَأَنزَلَand He sent downفِيonالأَرْضِthe earthجُزْءًاone part,فَمِنْso fromذَلِكَthat partالْجُزْءِthe partتَتَرَاحَمُcreatures interact with mercy,حَتَّىuntilتَرْفَعَit raisesالدَّابَّةَthe animalحَافِرَهَاits hoofعَنْfromوَلَدِهَاits childخَشْيَةًfor fearأَنْthatتَصِيبَهَا.it may hurt him.
(2) As narrated by Al-Bukhari (6000), and Muslim (2752); from Abu Huraira, may Allah be pleased with him, he said: "I heard the Messenger of God, peace be upon him, saying: 'God made mercy one hundred parts, so He withheld ninety-nine parts with Him, and sent down one part upon the earth, so from that part, creatures interact with mercy, even an animal raises its hoof from its child for fear that it may hurt him.'"
