لَكِنَّهُمْBut theyيَسْتَعْمِلُونَuseالْحِكْمَةَwisdomفِيinهَذَاthisالْجِهَادِstruggleوَيَرُومُونَand seekالْوُصُولَto reachإِلَىtoالْغَايَةِthe goal
But they use wisdom in this struggle and seek to reach the goal.
فَإِذَاSo ifرَأَوْاthey seeأَنَّthatالدَّعْوَةَthe callتَسْتَوْجِبُrequiresالتَّأَخُّرَdelayفِيinبَعْضِsomeالْأُمُورِmatters
So if they see that the call requires delay in some matters,
تَأَخَّرُواthey delay,,وَإِذَاAnd ifرَأَوْاthey seeأَنَّthatالدَّعْوَةَthe callتَقْتَضِيnecessitatesاللِّينَgentlenessفِيinبَعْضِsomeالْأَحْوَالِsituations
they delay, and if they see that the call necessitates gentleness in some situations,
اسْتَعْمَلُوهُthey use it;.لِأَنَّهُمْbecause theyيُرِيدُونَwantالْوُصُولَto reachإِلَىtoغَايَةٍa specific goalمُحَدَّدَةٍ.,,وَالْوَسِيلَةَand the meansحَسَبَaccording toمَاwhatتَقْضِيهِis necessitated byالْحَالُthe situation
they use it; because they want to reach a specific goal, and the means according to what the situation necessitates.
ثُمَّThenقَالَsaidاللَّهُAllahتَعَالَى,﴿ذَلِكَThat isفَضْلُthe favor ofاللَّهِAllahيُؤْتِيهِgives it toمَنْwhomيَشَاءُHe willsوَاللَّهُand Allahوَاسِعٌis All-Encompassingعَلِيمٌ﴾All-Knowing.[المائدة: ٥٤][Al-Ma'idah: 54]
Then Allah, the Exalted, said: 'That is the favor of Allah; He gives it to whom He wills. And Allah is All-Encompassing, All-Knowing.' [Al-Ma'idah: 54]
وَفِيAnd inالْآيَةِthe verseمِنareالْأَسْمَاءِthe namesوَالصَّفَاتِand attributesمَاwhatسَبَقَprecededفِيinالَّتِيthe oneقَبْلَهَاbefore it,,وَزِيَادَةًand an additionأَنَّthatاللَّهَAllahتَعَالَىthe Exaltedيَكُونُisمَحْبُوبًاbeloved.
And in the verse are the names and attributes as mentioned before, and an addition that Allah, the Exalted, is beloved.
الْآيَةُThe verseالسَّابِعَةُthe seventh::قَوْلُهُHis saying
The seventh verse: His saying:
﴿﴿إِنَّIndeedاللَّهَAllahيُحِبُّlovesالَّذِينَthose whoيُقَاتِلُونَfightفِيinسَبِيلِهِHis wayصَفًّاin rowsكَأَنَّهُمas if theyبُنِيَانٌwere a fortressمَرْصُوصٌfirmly joined.))[الصف : ٤][As-Saff: 4]
'Indeed, Allah loves those who fight in His way in rows as if they were a fortress firmly joined.' [As-Saff: 4]
هَذِهِThisالْآيَةُverseفِيinسُورَةِSurahالْصَّفِّAs-Saff,,,وَسُورَةِand the SurahالْصَّفِّAs-SaffفِيinالْحَقِيقَةِactuallyهِيَisسُورَةُSurahالْجِهَادِof jihad;لِأَنَّbecauseاللَّهُAllahتَعَالَىthe Exaltedبَدَأَهَاbegan itبِالثَّنَاءِwith praiseعَلَىofالْمُقَاتِلِينَthe fightersفِيinسَبِيلِهِHis path,,ثُمَّthenدَعَاcalledإِلَىtoالْجِهَادِjihadفِيinآخِرِهَاthe end of itثُمَّthenذَكَرَmentionedبَيْنَbetweenذَلِكَthatأَنَّthatاللَّهَAllahسَيُظْهِرَwill prevailدِينَهُHis religionعَلَىuponكُلِّallالْأَدْيَانِreligionsوَلَوْeven ifكَرِهَthey dislikeالْمُشْرِكُونَthe polytheists.
This verse is in Surah Al-Saff, and Surah Al-Saff is actually the Surah of jihad; because Allah, the Exalted, began it with praise of the fighters in His path, then called to jihad at its end, and then mentioned that Allah will prevail over all religions, even if the polytheists dislike it.
وَإِنَّAnd indeedاللَّهَAllahيُحِبُّlovesالَّذِينَthose whoيُقَاتِلُونَfightفِيinسَبِيلِهِHis pathصَفًّاin rowsلَاnotيَتَقَدَّمُprecedeأَحَدٌany oneعَلَىoverأَحَدٍany oneوَلَاand notيَتَأَخَّرُdelay،,حَتَّىuntilفِيinالْجِهَادِjihad.
And indeed, Allah loves those who fight in His path in rows; not one precedes or delays until in jihad.
وَالصَّلَاةُAnd prayerجِهَادٌis a jihadمُصَغَّرٌminiatureفِيهَاin itقَائِدٌa leaderيَجِبُmustاتِّبَاعُهُbe followed؛;فَإِنFor ifلَمnotتَتَّبِعْهُyou follow him؛;بَطَلَتinvalidatedصَلَاتُكَyour prayer;قَالَsaidالنَّبِيُّthe Prophetﷺ,«أَمَا'Does notيَخْشَىfearالَّذِيthe one whoيَرْفَعُraisesرَأْسَهُhis headقَبْلَbeforeالإِمَامِthe ImamأَنْthatيُحَوِّلَAllah turnsاللَّهُAllahرَأْسَهُhis headرَأْسَhead intoحِمَارٍ،a donkey,أوorيَجْعَلَmakesصُورَتَهُhis imageصُورَةًimage٢٣٦236
And prayer is a mini jihad in which a leader must be followed; for if you do not follow him, your prayer is invalidated. The Prophet said: 'Does not the one who raises his head before the Imam fear that Allah will turn his head into that of a donkey, or make his image like that of a donkey?' 236
