And from His saying: 'So they could not make it appear' (Al-Kahf: 97); that is, to rise above it. And the Prophet, peace be upon him, said in its interpretation: 'The one who there is nothing above Him; thus He is above everything.'

Indeed, He is the Hidden: the Prophet, peace be upon him, explained: 'The one who there is nothing beneath Him; and this is a metaphor for His encompassment of everything, but the meaning of His being above the Almighty; thus He is Hidden; and His elevation does not contradict His closeness; thus the Hidden is close to the meaning of the close one.'

Reflect on these names; you will find that they are opposing, and all of them express news about a single subject but through the conjunction letter, and the news expressed through the conjunction letter is stronger than that without it; for example: 'And He is the Most Forgiving, the Most Loving, the Owner of the Throne, the Majestic * So He said, to what He wants' (Al-Burooj: 14 - 16): They are multiple news without the conjunction letter, but sometimes the names of Allah and His attributes come associated by the conjunction; and their benefit: First: is to emphasize the previous;
