Explanation: This is a part of a narration narrated by Al-Bukhari from Abu Huraira, may Allah be pleased with him, in the story of the Prophet ﷺ entrusting him with charity, and the devil took from it. His saying to Abu Huraira: 'If you go to your bed, then read the Throne Verse: 'Allah, there is no deity except Him, the Living, the Sustainer' until you finish the verse; for you will not cease to have a guardian from Allah, and no devil will approach you until morning.' Abu Huraira informed the Prophet ﷺ of this, and he said: 'He has told you the truth, and he is a liar.' (1)

Explanation: And His saying 'this' is connected to (Surah) in the saying of the author: 'What he described about Himself in Surah Al-Ikhlas. The First, the Last, the Manifest, and the Hidden: these are four names, all opposed in time and place, indicating the encompassing nature of Allah, Glory be to Him, Exalted, with all things first and last, also in place; thus in it is the encompassing of time.'
