الثَّانِيَةُthe secondوَالثَّالِثَةُand the thirdوَالرَّابِعَةُand the fourthوَالْعِشْرُونَand the twentiethكَمَالٌthe perfectionعِلْمُهُof His knowledgeوَحِفْظُهُ،and His preservation,مِنْfromقَوْلِهِHis saying﴿﴾وَلَاand notيَتَوَدُّهُdoes preserve itحِفْظُهُمَاtheir preservation.
The second, third, fourth, and twentieth: the perfection of His knowledge and preservation, from His saying: "And does not preserve them."
وَرَحْمَتُهُAnd His mercyالْخَامِسَةُThe fifthوَالْعِشْرُونَand the twentiethإِثْبَاتٌthe affirmationعُلُوٌّof God's height;لِقَوْلِهِdue to His saying( وَهُوَ( and He isالْعَلِيُّ )the Most High).
And His mercy: the fifth and twentieth is the affirmation of God's height; due to His saying: (and He is the Most High).
وَمَذْهَبُAnd the doctrineأَهْلِof the peopleالسُّنَّةِof the Sunnahوَالجَمَاعَةِand the communityأَنَّis thatاللَّهَGodسُبْحَانَهُ وَتَعَالَىGlory be to Him and Exaltedعَالٍis Highبِذَاتِهِ،by Himself,وَأَنَّand thatعُلُوهُHis heightمِنْis ofالصِّفَاتِthe attributesالذَّاتِيَّةِof the Essence,الْأَزَلِيَّةِthe eternal,الْأَبَدِيَّةِ.the everlasting.
And the doctrine of the people of the Sunnah and community is that God, Glory be to Him and Exalted, is High by Himself, and that His height is of the eternal attributes of the Essence.
وَاخْتَلَفَAnd differedأَهْلُthe peopleالسُّنَّةِof the Sunnahفِيinذَلِكَthatطَائِفَتَانِtwo groupsطَائِفَةٌOne groupقَالُوا:said:إِنَّIndeed,اللَّهَGodبِذَاتِهِby Himselfفِيinكُلِّeveryمَكَانٍplace.وَطَائِفَةٌAnd another groupقَالُواsaidإِنَّthatاللَّهَGodلَيْسَis notفَوْقَaboveالْعَالَمِthe worldوَلَاnorتَحْتَbelowالْعَالَمِthe worldوَلَاnorفِيinالْعَالَمِ،the world,وَلَاnorيَمِينَto the rightوَلَاnorشِمَالٍ؛to the left;وَلَاnorمُنْفَصِلٌis separateعَنِfromالْعَالَمِthe worldوَلَاand notمُتَّصِلٌ!is connected!
And differed the people of the Sunnah in that: two groups. One group said: 'Indeed, God is by Himself in every place.' And another group said: 'Indeed, God is not above the world, nor below the world, nor in the world, nor to the right, nor to the left; nor is He separate from the world nor is He connected!'
وَالَّذِينَAnd those whoقَالُواsaidبِأَنَّهُthat He isفِيinكُلِّeveryمَكَانٍ اسْتَدَلُّواplace, they supported itبِقَوْلِby the sayingاللَّهِGodتَعَالَى:the Most High:وَمَاAnd whatفِيinالْأَرْضِthe earthمَاwhatيَكُونُcan beمِنَofنَجْوَىprivate conversationثَلاثَةٍof threeإِلَّاexceptهُوَHe isرَابِعُهُمْtheir fourth;وَلَاand notخَمْسَةٍof fiveإِلَّاexceptهُوَHe isسَادِسُهُمْtheir sixth;وَلَاand notأَدْنَىlessمِنْthanذَلِكَthatوَلَاand notأَكْثَرَmoreإِلَّاexceptهُوَHe isمَعَهُمْwith themأَيْنَwhereverمَاwhatكَانُوا)they are)
And those who said that He is in every place supported it by the saying of God: "And what is in the earth, there can be no private conversation of three except He is their fourth; nor five except He is their sixth; and not less than that and not more except He is with them wherever they are." (Al-Mujadila: 7)
