الْقَيُّومِThe SustainerوَقَدْAnd indeedخَابَfailedمَنْwhoحَمَلَboreظُلْمًاinjustice
Indeed, failed is the one who bears injustice.
هَذَانِThese twoالْأَسْمَاءُnamesفِيهِمَاin themالْكَمَالُthe perfectionالذَّاتِيُّthe essenceوَالْكَمَالُand the perfectionالسُّلْطَانِيُّthe sovereign
These two names contain the essence of perfection and the perfection of sovereignty.
فَالذَّاتِيُّThe essenceفِي قَوْلِهِin His saying::(الْحَيُّ،(The Living,وَالسُّلْطَانِيُّand the sovereignفِي قَوْلِهِin His saying::(الْقَيُّومُ(The Sustainer;لِأَنَّهُbecause Heيَقُومُmaintainsعَلَىuponكُلِّeverything,شَيْءٍ،and everything.وَيَقُومُAnd by Him,بِهِby it,كُلَّeverythingشَيْءٍ.thing.
The essence is in His saying: (The Living), and the sovereign is in His saying: (The Sustainer); because He maintains everything, and by Him, everything exists.
وَقَوْلُهُAnd His saying::(لَا(Does notتَأْخُذُهُtake Himسِنَةٌa drowsinessوَلَاnorنَوْمٌsleep:وَالسِّنَةُAnd drowsinessالنُّعَاسُ،is the light sleep,وَهِيَand it isمُقَدِّمَةٌthe precedingالنَّوْمِ،of sleep,وَلَمْand He did notيَقُلْsay::لَاnoيَنَامُ؛sleep;
And His saying: (He is not taken by drowsiness or sleep: drowsiness is the light sleep, and it is the precursor of sleep, and He did not say: He does not sleep;
