وَقَوْلُهُAnd His sayingوَلِهَذَاAnd for thisأَيٌّthat isلِأَجْلِfor the sake ofكَمَالِthe completeness ofكَلَامِهِHis speechوَكَلَامِand the speechرُسُلِهِof His messengers
And His saying: 'And for this; that is, for the sake of the completeness of His speech and the speech of His messengers.'
قَالَHe saidسُبْحَانَGlory be toرَبِّكَyour Lord
He said: "Glory be to your Lord."
وَAndسَبَقَhas precededمَعْنَىthe meaningالتَّسْبِيحِof glorification,,وَهُوَand it isتَنْزِيهٌsanctificationاللَّهَAllahعَنْfromكُلِّallمَاwhatلَاis notيَلِيقٌbefittingبِهِto Him
And it has preceded the meaning of glorification, which is the sanctification of Allah from all that is not befitting to Him.
وَقَوْلُهُAnd His sayingرَبِّكَYour Lordأَضَافَaddedالرُّبُوبِيَّةَthe lordshipإِلَىtoمُحَمَّدٍMuhammadﷺ, peace be upon him،,وَهِيَand it isرُبُوبِيَّةٌa lordshipخَاصَّةٌspecific,,مِنْfromبَابِthe type ofإِضَافَةٍadditionالْخَالِقِthe creatorإِلَىtoالْمَخْلُوقِthe created
And His saying: 'Your Lord' added the lordship to Muhammad ﷺ, and it is a specific lordship, from the type of adding the Creator to the created.
وَقَوْلُهُAnd His sayingوَرَبِّand the Lordالْعِزَّةِof Glory
And His saying: 'And the Lord of Glory.'
مِنْFromبَابِthe type ofإِضَافَةٍthe additionالْمَوْصُوفِof the describedإِلَىtoالصِّفَةِthe attribute
From the type of adding the described to the attribute, and it is known that every described is created, and here it is said: 'the Lord of Glory,' and the glory of Allah is not created; it is one of His attributes; it is said: 'this is from the type of adding the described to the attribute.'
وَعَلَىAnd uponهَذَاthisفَـthen
And upon this;
رَبِّthe Lord ofالْعِزَّةِGloryهُنَاhere
the Lord of Glory here.
مَعْنَاهَاIts meaning isصَاحِبُthe owner ofالْعِزَّةِthe Glory؛:كَمَاasيُقَالُit is saidرَبُّthe Lordالْدَّارِof the house؛:أَيْthat isصَاحِبُthe owner ofالْدَّارِthe house
Its meaning is: the owner of the Glory; as it is said: the Lord of the house; that is, the owner of the house.
**قَوْلُهُHis sayingعَمَّabout whatيَصِفُونَthey describe
His saying: 'About what they describe' means: About what the polytheists describe, as will be mentioned by the author.
قَوْلُهُHis sayingوَسَلَمُand peace be uponعَلَىuponالْمُرْسَلِينَthe messengers
His saying: 'And peace be upon the messengers,' means: peace be upon the messengers.
قَوْلُهُHis saying(و(Andالْحَمْدُthe praiseلِلَّهِto Allahرَبِّthe Lordالْعَالَمِينَof the worlds)
His saying: '(And praise be to Allah, the Lord of the worlds)' refers to Allah praising Himself after He has sanctified it; because in praise is completeness of attributes, and in glorification is sanctification from defects; thus, the verse combines the sanctification from defects by glorification and the affirmation of completeness by praise.
قَوْلُهُHis saying«فَسَبِّحَ'So He glorifiedنَفْسَهُHis own Selfعَمَّfrom whatوَصَفَهُHe was describedبِهِby itالْمُخَالِفُونَthe opposersالرُّسُلِthe messengers
His saying: 'So He glorified Himself from what the opposers describe of the messengers,' means that He is free from those descriptions.
