نَقُولُWe sayلَاnotيُمكِنُpossible؛سَمَاعَhearingالْخَالِقِthe Creatorوَاجِبٌobligatoryلَهُfor Him،لَاnotيَعْتَرِيهِis afflicted byنَقْصٌdefect،وَهُوَand He isشَامِلٌencompassingلِكُلِّto everythingشَيْءٍthing،وَسَمْعُand the hearingالْإِنْسَانِof manمُمْكِنٌpossible؛إذْasيَجُوزُit is permissibleأَنْtoيُولَدَbe bornالْإِنْسَانُthe humanأَصَمٌّdeaf،وَالْمَوْلُودُand the one bornسَمِيعًاhearingيَلْحَقُهُis afflicted with himنَقْصٌdefectالسَّمْعِhearing،وَسَمْعَهُand his hearingمَحْدُودٌlimited؛إِذًاtherefore؛لَاnotيُمكِنُcanأَنْtoيُقَاسَbe measuredاللَّهُGodبِخَلْقِهِby His creation؛فَكُلُّfor allصِفَاتِattributesاللَّهِGodلَاnotيُمكِنُcanأَنْtoتُقَاسَbe measuredبِصِفَاتٍby attributesخَلْقِof created beingsهِthem؛لِظُّهُورِdue to the manifestationالتَّبَايُنِthe variationالْعَظِيمِthe greatبَيْنَbetweenالْخَالِقِthe Creatorوَبَيْنَand betweenالْمَخْلُوقِthe created being۔قَوْلُهُHis saying:«فَإِنَّهُ“For indeed Heأَعْلَمُis most knowledgeableسُبْحَانَهُGlory be to Himبِنَفْسِهِof Himselfوَandبِغَيْرِهِof others،وَأَصْدَقُand the truestقِيلًاin speech،وَأَحْسَنُand the bestحَدِيثًاin narrationمِنْthanخَلْقِهِHis creation
We say: It is not possible; the hearing of the Creator is obligatory for Him, it is not afflicted by any defect, and it encompasses everything. And the hearing of man is possible; for it is permissible for a man to be born deaf, and the one born hearing may be afflicted with a hearing defect, and his hearing is limited.
إِذًاThen؛لَاnotيُمكِنُcanأَنْtoيُقَاسَbe measuredاللَّهُGodبِخَلْقِهِby His creation؛فَكُلُّfor allصِفَاتِattributesاللَّهِGodلَاnotيُمكِنُcanأَنْtoتُقَاسَbe measuredبِصِفَاتٍby attributesخَلْقِof created beingsهِthem؛لِظُّهُورِdue to the manifestationالتَّبَايُنِthe variationالْعَظِيمِthe greatبَيْنَbetweenالْخَالِقِthe Creatorوَبَيْنَand betweenالْمَخْلُوقِthe created being۔قَوْلُهُHis saying:«فَإِنَّهُ“For indeed Heأَعْلَمُis most knowledgeableسُبْحَانَهُGlory be to Himبِنَفْسِهِof Himselfوَandبِغَيْرِهِof others،وَأَصْدَقُand the truestقِيلًاin speech،وَأَحْسَنُand the bestحَدِيثًاin narrationمِنْthanخَلْقِهِHis creation
Therefore, it cannot be measured: God cannot be measured by His creation; for all the attributes of God cannot be measured by the attributes of His creation, due to the great variation between the Creator and the created being.
قَالَHe saidالْمُؤَلِّفُthe authorهَذَاthisتَمْهِيدًاas an introductionوَتَوْطِئَةًand a preludeلِوُجُوبِfor the obligationقَبُولِto acceptمَاwhatدَلَّindicatedعَلَيْهِon itكَلَامَthe wordsاللَّهِof Godتَعَالَىthe ExaltedمِنْofصِفَاتِهِHis attributesوَغَيْرِهَاand others،وَذَٰلِكَand thatأَنَّهُit isيَجِبُobligatoryقَبُولُto acceptمَاwhatدَلَّindicatedعَلَيْهِon itالْخَبَرُthe newsإِذَاifاجْتَمَعَتْit meetsفِيْهِin itأَوْصَافٌattributesأَرْبَعَةٌfour:الأوَّلُfirst:أَنْthatيَكُونَbeصَادِرًاcoming fromعَنْaboutعِلْمٍknowledgeوَإِلَيْهِand it refers toالإِشارةُindicatingبِقَوْلِهِby his saying:«فَإِنَّهُ“For indeed Heأَعْلَمُis more knowledgeableبِنَفْسِهِof Himselfوَبِغَيْرِهِand of others،الْوَصْفُthe descriptionالثَّانِيsecondالْصِدْقُtruthfulness،وَأَشَارَand he indicatedإِلَيْهِto itبِقَوْلِهِby his saying:وَأَصْدَقُand truestقِيْلًاin speech۔الْوَصْفُthe descriptionالثَّالِثُthirdالْبَيَانُthe clarityوَالْفَصَاحَةُand eloquenceوَأَشَارَand he indicatedإِلَيْهِto itبِقَوْلِهِby his saying:وَأَحْسَنُand the bestحَدِيثًاin narration۔١٣١131
The author said this as an introduction and prelude to the obligation of accepting what the words of God the Exalted indicate regarding His attributes and others. This is because it is obligatory to accept what the news indicates if it meets four attributes: First: That it is coming from knowledge, and it refers to this by his saying: “For indeed He is more knowledgeable of Himself and of others.
