بِالمَوْجُودَاتِ،With the existents,وَهَذَاand thisمَعْرُوفٌis knownأَنَّهُthat itبَاطِلٌis falseمَرْدُودٌ.and rejected.

النَّوْعُThe typeالثَّالِثُthe third
The third type
أَنْthatيُنْكِرَhe deniesمَاwhatدَلَّتْit indicatedعَلَيْهِon itمِنَofالصفاتِ؛attributes;فَهُوَso heيُثْبِتُaffirmsالِاسْمَ،the name,لَكِنَّbutيُنْكِرُhe deniesالصفةَthe attributeالَّتِيthatيَتَضَمَّنُهَاit includesهَذَاthisالِاسْمُ؛name;مِثْلَlikeأَنْthatيَقُولُ:he says:إِنَّIndeedاللَّهَAllahسَمِيعٌis Hearingبِلاَwithoutسَمْعٍ،hearing,وَعَلِيمٌand KnowingبِلاَwithoutعِلْمٍKnowledgeوَخَالِقٌand Creatorبِلاَwithoutخَلْقٍ،creation,وَقَادِرٌand Ableبِلاَwithoutقُدْرَةٍ.ability.وَهَذَاand thisمَعْرُوفٌis knownعَنْfromالْمُعْتَزِلَةِ،the Mu'tazilites,وَهُوَand it isغَيْرُnotمَعْقُولٍ!reasonable!
The third type is that he denies what it indicates of attributes; so he affirms the name, but denies the attribute that this name includes; like saying: Indeed Allah is Hearing without hearing, and Knowing without Knowledge, and a Creator without creation, and Able without ability. And this is well-known about the Mu'tazilites, and it is unreasonable!
ثُمَّThenهَـؤُلَاءِtheseيَجْعَلُونَthey makeالأَسْمَاءَthe namesأَعْلَامًاsignsمَحْضَةًpureمُتَغَايِرَةً،different,فَيَقُولُوا:and they say:السَّمِيعُthe Hearingغَيْرُis notالْعَلِيمُ،the Knowing,لَكِنَّbutكُلَّهَاall of themلَيْسَis notلَهَاfor themمَعْنًى!meaning!السَّمِيعُThe Hearingلَاdoes notيَدُلُّindicateعَلَىonالسَّمْعِhearingوَالْعَلِيمُand the Knowingلَاdoes notيَدُلُّindicateعَلَىonالْعِلْمِ!knowledge!لَكِنَّButمُجَرَّدَmereأَعْلَامٍ!!signs!!
Then these make the names pure signs that are different, and they say: The Hearing is not the Knowing, but all of them have no meaning! The Hearing does not indicate on hearing and the Knowing does not indicate on knowledge! But they are mere signs!!
وَمِنْهُمْAnd among themآخَرُونَare othersيَقُولُونَ:say:هَذِهِTheseالأَسْمَاءُnamesشَيْءٌare one thing;واحِدٌ؛are one;فَهِيَso they areعَلِيمٌKnowingوَسَمِيعٌand Hearingوَبَصِيرٌ،and Seeing,كُلُّهَا،all of them,واحِدَةٌoneلَاnotتَخْتَلِفُdifferإِلَّاexceptبِتَرْتِيبِby the arrangementالْحُرُوفِof the lettersفَقَط،only,فَيَجْعَلُونَand they makeالأَسْمَاءَthe namesشَيْئًاone thing!!
And among them are others who say: These names are one thing; so they are Knowing and Hearing and Seeing, all one, and they do not differ except by the arrangement of the letters only, and they make the names one thing!!
وَكُلُّAnd allهَذَاthisغَيْرُis notمَعْقُولٌ،reasonable,وَلِذَٰلِكَand thereforeنَحْنُweنَقُولُ:say:إِنَّهُIndeed, itلَاcannotيُمكنُbe
And all this is not reasonable, and therefore we say: Indeed, it cannot be believed in the names until what they contain from attributes is established.
وَلَعَلَّنَاAnd perhapsمِنْofهُنَاhereنَتَكَلَّمُwe talkعَلَىaboutدَلَالَةِthe indicationالِاسْمِ؛of the name;فَالِاسْمُfor the nameلَهُfor itأَنْوَاعٌtypesثَلاَثَةٌthreeفِيinالدَّلَالَةِ:the indication:: دَلَالَةٌ: indicationمُطَابَقَةٌof conformityوَدَلَالَةٌand indicationتَضَمُّof implicationوَدَلَالَةٌand indicationالتِّزامِ:of commitment:
And perhaps we talk here about the indication of the name; for the name has three types in indication: indication of conformity and indication of implication and indication of commitment:
١1--فَدَلَالَةُSo the indicationالْمُطَابَقَةُof conformity : دَلَالَةٌ: indicationاللَّفْظُof the termعَلَىonجَمِيعِallمَدَلُولِه،its denotation,وَعَلَىand onهَذَا؛this;فَكُلُّSo everyاسْمٌnameدَالٌّindicatesعَلَىonالْمُسَمَّىthe one indicatedبِهِby itوَهُوَand it isاللَّهُ،Allah,وَعَلَىand onالصِّفَةِthe attributeالْمُشْتَقَّةِderivedمِنْهَاfrom itهَذَاthisالِاسْمُ.name.
1 - So the indication of conformity: the indication of the term on all its denotation, and on this; so every name indicates on the one indicated by it, and it is Allah, and on the attribute derived from this name.
٢2--وَدَلَالَةُAnd the indicationالتَّضَمُّنُof implicationدَلَالَةُindicationاللَّفْظُof the termعَلَىonبَعْضِsomeمَدَلُولِهِ،of its denotation,وَعَلَىand onهَذَا؛this;فَدَلَالَةُSo the indicationالِاسْمِof the nameعَلَىonالذَّاتِthe essenceوَحْدَهَاaloneأَوْorعَلَىonالصِّفَةِthe attributeوَحْدَهَاaloneمِنْofهَذَاthisمِنْهَاfrom itالِاسْمُnameوَكُلُّAnd allهَذَاthisهُوَisمِنْهَاfrom it
2 - And the indication of implication: the indication of the term on some of its denotation, and on this; so the indication of the name is on the essence alone, or on the attribute alone from it.
