وَالْكَلِمَاتُ؛And the words;فَالصُّورَةُthe imageمُطَابِقَةٌmatchesلِلصُّورَةِ،to the image,وَالْقَائِلُ:and the speaker:«إِنَّ"Indeed,اللَّهَAllahخَلَقَcreatedآدَمَAdamعَلَىinصُورَتِهِ»:His image":
And the words; the image matches the image, and the speaker: "Indeed, Allah created Adam in His image": the Messenger, peace and blessings be upon him, is the most knowledgeable, truthful, and eloquent of all creation.
وَالجَوَابُAnd the responseالمُجْمَلُthe overallأَنْis thatنَقُولُ:we say:لَاnoيُمْكِنُcanأَنْtoيُناقِضَcontradictهَذَاthisحَدِيثٌhadithقَوْلُهُHis sayingتَعَالَى:the Exalted:﴿(لَيْسَThere is notكَمِثْلِهِlike Himشَيْءٌ)anything)[الشُّورَى:[Ash-Shura:١١]،11],فَإِنْSo ifيُسِرَ اللّهُAllah makes it easy for youلَكَfor you,الْجَمْعَ؛to gather;فَاجْمَعْthen gather,وَإِنْand ifلَمْnotيَتَيَسَّرْ؛made easy;فَقُلْ:then say:﴿(ءَامَنَّاWe believeبِهِin Him;كُلُّeverythingمِنْfromعِندِfromرَبِّنَاour Lord."﴾)[آلِ عِمْرَانَ:[Aal Imran:٧]7]وَعَقِيدَتُنَاand our creedأَنْis thatاللَّهَAllahلَاnoمَثِيلَ لَهُ؛equal to Him;
And the overall response is that we say: No, it cannot contradict this hadith His saying, the Exalted: (There is not anything like Him) [Ash-Shura: 11]. So if Allah makes it easy for you to gather, then gather, and if it is not made easy, then say: (We believe in Him; everything is from our Lord.) [Aal Imran: 7] and our creed is that Allah has no equal; through this you will be safe before Allah, the Almighty.
فَهَذَاSo thisكَلَامٌspeechاللَّهِ،of Allah,وَهَذَاand thisكَلَامٌ، رَسُولِهِis the speech of His Messenger,وَالْكُلُّand allحَقٌّ،is true,وَلَاand cannotيُمْكِنُbeأَنْthatيَكْذِبَlieبَعْضُهُsome of itبَعْضً؛against one another;
So this is the speech of Allah, and this is the speech of His Messenger, and all is true, and it cannot contradict each other; because it is all narration and not a ruling that can be abrogated;
فَأَقُولُ:So I say:هَذَاThisنَفْيٌis a negationلِلْمُمَاثَلَةِ،of likeness,وَ هَذَاand thisإِثْبَاتٌis a confirmationلِلصُّورَةِ؛of the image;فَقُلْ:then say:إِنَّIndeed,اللَّهَAllahلَيْسَis notكَمِثْلِهِlike Him;شَيْءٌ،anything,وَإِنَّand indeedاللَّهَAllahخَلَقَcreatedآدَمَAdamعَلَىinصُورَتِهِ؛His image;
So I say: This is a negation of likeness, and this is a confirmation of the image; then say: Indeed, Allah is not like anything, and indeed, Allah created Adam in His image;
فَهَذَاSo thisكَلَامٌis the speechاللَّهِ،of Allah,وَهَذَاand thisكَلَامٌ، رَسُولِهِis the speech of His Messenger,وَالْكُلُّand allحَقٌّ نُؤْمِنُis true, we believeبِهِ؛in it;وَنَقُولُ:and we say:كُلُّeverythingمِنْis fromعِندَbyرَبِّنَا،our Lord,وَنَسْكُتُ،and we remain silent,وَهَذَاand thisهُوَisغَايَةُthe utmostمَاwhatتَسْتَطِيعُ.you can.
So this is the speech of Allah, and this is the speech of His Messenger, and all is true, we believe in it; and we say: Everything is from our Lord, and we remain silent, and this is the utmost you can do.
وَأَمَّاAnd as forالْجَوَابُthe detailed response;المُفَصَّلُ؛the elaborated;فَنَقُولُ:we say:إِنَّIndeed,الَّذِيthe one whoقَالَ:said:«إِنَّ"Indeed,اللَّهَAllahخَلَقَcreatedآدَمَAdamعَلَىinصُورَتِهِHis imageرَسُولٌis the Messengerالَّذِيwho said:(لَيْسَ(There is notكَمِثْلِهِlike Him,شَيْءٌanything[الشُّورَى:[Ash-Shura:١١]،11],وَالْرَّسُولُAnd the Messengerلَاcannotيُمْكِنُspeakأَنْthatيَنْطِقَspeakبِمَاwhatيَكْذِبُcontradictsالْمُرَسَلُ،the sender,وَالَّذِيand the one whoقَالَ:said:«خَلَقَ"createdآدَمَAdamعَلَىinصُورَتِهِ:His image:هُوَis Heالَّذِيwhoقَالَ:said:«إِنَّ"Indeed,أَوَّلُthe firstزُمْرَةٌgroupتَدْخُلُto enterالْجَنَّةَheaven,عَلَىinصُورَةِthe imageالْقَمَرِ؛of the moon;(١)؛(1);فَهَلْSo doأَنْتَyouتَعْتَقِدُbelieveأَنْthatهَؤُلَاءِtheseالَّذِينَwho(١)(1)
And as for the detailed response, we say: Indeed, the one who said: "Indeed, Allah created Adam in His image" is the Messenger who said: "There is not like Him anything" [Ash-Shura: 11], and the Messenger cannot speak what contradicts the sender, and the one who said: "He created Adam in His image" is the one who said: "The first group who enters heaven will be in the image of the moon;" so do you believe that these who (1);
