ثُمَّThenاسْتَأْنَفَتْShe started«أُمُّThe motherمَشْغُولٍ»of the busy»«ماWhatدامَas long asاقْتِراحُthe proposalأُمِّof the motherمازِنٍ»Mazin»قَدْhasلَقِيَmetمِنْكُنَّfrom youقَبُولاacceptanceحَسَنًاgoodفَإِنِّيSo Iأَنْصَحُكُنَّadvise youأَلاnot toتُضِعْنَwasteشَيْئًاanythingمِنَofالْوَقْتِ،the time,فِيماin whatلاthere is noطائِلَbenefitتَحْتَهُ.under it.

Then she started, 'The mother of the busy': 'As long as the proposal of the mother of Mazin has been accepted well by you, I advise you not to waste anything of the time in what is not beneficial.'

وَأَرَىAnd I seeأَنْthatتَذْهَبَyou goطائِفَةٌa groupمِنْكُنَّfrom youمَعَwith«أُمِّ مازِنٍ»Um Mazinفِيinصَباحِmorningالْغَدِtomorrowعِنْدَماwhenتُشْرِقُthe sun risesالشَّمْسُthe sunوَتُبَلِّلُand moistensالْمُرُوجَthe meadowsبِالنَّدَىwith dewلِتَتَعَرَّفْنَfor you to get to knowمَوْقِعَthe locationالْوادِيthe valleyالْجَدِيدِthe new

And I see that a group of you should go with Um Mazin in the morning of tomorrow, when the sun rises, and moistens the meadows with dew, for you to get to know the location of the new valley.

وَلاAnd notيَفُوتُكُنَّyou missأَيَّتُهاOالْعَزِيزاتُthe dignifiedأَنَّthatبِناءَthe building ofبَيْتِhouse ofالنَّمْلِthe antلَيْسَis notمِنَfromالْهِناتِthe easy tasks

And do not miss it, O dignified ones, that building the house of the ant is not one of the easy tasks.

فَهَلْSoعَرَفْتُنَّdid you knowماذاwhatيَجْدُرُis worthyبِكُنَّfor you (feminine plural)أَنْtoتَعْمَلْنَهُ،do it,مُنْذُsinceالآن؟»now?"

So did you know what is worthy for you to do it, since now?

فَتَقَدَّمَتْThen she advanced«أُمُّ نَوْبَةَ»‘Um al-Nawbah’إِلَىtoوَسَطِthe center ofالْقاعَةِ،the hall,ثُمَّthenقالَتْ:she said:«إِنِّي‘Indeed Iأَعْلَمُknowذَلِكَthatحَقَّwith certaintyالْعِلْمِ،the knowledge,فَإِنَّfor indeedأَوَّلَthe firstواجِبٍobligationعَلَيْنا،upon us,هُوَisأَنْtoنَحْفِرَdigفِيinالأَرْضِthe earth,حُفَرًاhuge holes,واسِعَةً،wide,حَيْثُwhereنُنْشِئُwe establishالْغُرَفَ،the rooms,وَنُشَيِّدُand we buildالأَرْوِقَةَ.the corridors.

Then ‘Um al-Nawbah’ advanced to the center of the hall, then she said: ‘Indeed I know that with certainty, for indeed the first obligation upon us is to dig huge holes in the earth, where we will establish the rooms and build the corridors.’

فَقالَتْShe saidأُمُّMotherمَشْغُولٍbusyصَدَقْتِ،you spoke the truth,ياOأُمَّMotherنَوْبَةَof duty.

She said, 'Mother of the busy one: You spoke the truth, O Mother of duty.'

فَهَلْSo doوَعَيْتُنَّyou rememberذَلِكَ،that,أَيَّتُهاOالصَّغِيراتُlittle onesالْعَزِيزاتُ؟precious?

So do you remember that, O little precious ones?

وَلاand notيَفُوتُكُنَّlet you missأَنْthatتُנْشِئْنَyou establishفِيinبَيْتِناour houseالْجَدِيدِnewحُجُراتٍroomsلِتَرْبِيَةِfor raisingالأَطْفالِ،the children,عَلَىuponغِرارِsimilar toالْحُجُراتِthe roomsالَّتِيthatأَنْشَأْناهاwe establishedفِيinبَيْتِناour houseالْقَدِيمِ.old.

And do not let you miss establishing — in our new house — rooms for raising the children, similar to the rooms that we established in our old house.

وَلْيَكُنْAnd let it beفِيهِin itقاعَةٌa hallكَبِيرَةٌbigلِلاجْتِماعِfor gathering

And let there be a big hall for gathering.

فَقالَتْShe saidأُمُّMotherنَوْبَةَNobilityنَعَمْYesيَجْدُرُIt is appropriateبِناFor usأَنْtoنُشَيِّدَWe buildالْقَرْيَةَthe villageالْجَدِيدَةَnewعَلَىonنَسْقِpattern ofتِلْكِthatالْقَرْيَةِthe villageالْقَدِيمَةِoldفَنَجْعَلَSo let us makeفِيهاin itتَعارِيجَpathwaysتُعَوِّقُthat obstructسَيْرَthe flowالْمَطَرِof the rainعَنْfromدُخُولِenteringالْقَرْيَةِthe villageوandنُشَيِّدَwe buildطابَقَيْنِtwo levelsواحِدًاoneفَوْقَaboveالْآخَرِthe otherحَتَّىuntilنَأْمَنَwe secureعَلَىonماwhatنَدَّخِرُهُwe storeفِيinقَرْيَتِناour villageمِنَfromالْبَلَلِthe wetnessوandنُشَيِّدَwe buildفِيهاin itمَنازِلَhousesوandدَهالِيزَcorridorsوandحُجُراتٍroomsمُعَلَّقَةًhangingلِنَمْلأَهاto fill itحُبُوبًاgrainsوandذَخائِرَsuppliesلِفَصْلِfor the seasonالشِّتاءِof winterالْقادِمِcoming

So Mother Nobility said: Yes, it is appropriate for us to build the new village, based on the pattern of that old village, so that we may make in it pathways which obstruct the flow of rain from entering the village, and we construct two levels, one above the other, until we secure what we store in our village from wetness, and we build in it houses, corridors, and hanging rooms, to fill them with grains and supplies, for the coming winter season.

فَقالَتْAnd she said«أُمُّ مَشْغُولٍ»‘Um of the busy’لَقَدْIndeedوَهَبَناhas granted usاللهُAllah— سُبْحَانَهُ —- Glorified is He -آلاتٍtoolsثَمِينَةًpreciousلأَداءِto performهَذِهِthisالأَعْمالِtasksالْجَلِيلَةِnobleفَلْتَحْفِرْLet each one digكُلُّeveryواحِدَةٍone— مِنْكُنَّ —— of you —أَرْضَthe landالْقَرْيَةِof the villageالْجَدِيدَةِnewبِقَوَائِمِهاwith its pillarsالسِّتِّthe sixوَلا تُضِعْنَand do not wasteشَيْئًاanythingمِنْfromأَوْقاتِكُنَّyour timesعَبَثًاin vain.

And she said, 'Um of the busy: Indeed, Allah - glorified is He - has granted us precious tools to perform these noble tasks. Let each one of you dig the land of the new village with its six pillars, and do not waste anything of your time in vain.'

فَصاحَexclaimedشَبابُthe youthالنَّمْلِthe antsالسَّمْعُhearingوالطَّاعَةُand obedienceلَكِto youياOأُمَّmotherمَشْغُولٍbusy

The youth of the ants exclaimed: 'Hearing and obedience to you, O busy mother!'

(27) Conclusion of the story

ثُمَّThenاسْتَأْنَفَتْShe began«أُمُّ"Motherمَشْغُولٍ»Busy"قائِلَةً:said:«لَقَدْ"Indeed,حانَit is timeوَقْتُthe timeالتَّفَرُّقِ،to part,بَعْدَafterأَنْthatجَنَّthe night coveredاللَّيْلُ،the night,وَبَقِيتْand I hadلِيfor meكَلِمَةٌ،a word,أُفْضِيI will shareبِهاit to you,إِلَيْكُنَّ،to you all,قَبْلَbeforeأَنْthatيَنْفَضَّthis endsهَذاthisالاجْتِمَاعُgatheringالْحَاشِدُ:the crowded:لَقَدْIndeed,كانَتْwasفِكْرَةُthe ideaالْهِجْرَةِ،of migration,مِنِfromاقْتِراحِthe suggestion of«أُمِّ"Motherمازِنٍ»:Mazin"تِلْكِthatالنَّمْلَةِant,الصَّغِيرَةِ،the small,الَّتِيwhichفاقَتْsurpassed— عَلَى— uponصِغَرِهاher smallness—كُلَّallنِمالِof the ants ofالْقَرْيَةِthe villageذَكاءً.with intelligence."

Then "Mother Busy" began to say: "Indeed, it is time to part, after the night has covered, and I had a word to share with you all, before this crowded gathering ends: indeed, the idea of migration was from the suggestion of "Mother Mazin": that small ant, which surpassed—all of its smallness—every ant in the village with its intelligence.

وَعِنْدِيAnd I haveأَنَّهاthat she isجَدِيرَةٌworthyأَنْtoتُصْبِحَbecomeمُهَنْدِسَةَan engineerالْبَيْتِ،of the house,وَandمُدِيرَةَa directorالْعَمَلِof workفِيinإِنْشائِهِ،its construction,فَماذاSo whatتَرَيْنَdo you thinkفِيaboutهَذا،this,ياOبَنَاتِdaughters ofالشَّيْصَبانِ.the Shayban.

And I have that she is worthy to become the engineer of the house, and the director of its construction, so what do you think about this, O daughters of Shayban.
