That I swear by Allah while I am lying is more beloved to me than that I swear by other than Him while I am truthful.

فَهَذَاSo thisبَيَّنَmade clearالْقَاسِمُAl-Qasimأَنَّthatالْحَلِفَswearingبِغَيْرِby other thanاللَّهِAllah
So this made clear Al-Qasim that swearing by other than Allah
بِمَنْزِلَةِis in the statusالْحَلِفِof swearingبِالطَّوَاجِيتِ؛by false deities;مِثْلِlikeالصَّلِيبِthe crossوَنَحْوِهِ.and the like.
is in the status of swearing by false deities; like the cross and the like.
وَلِهَذَاAnd for this reasonقَالَsaidعَبْدُAbdullahاللَّهِbinبْنُMas'ud:مَسْعُودٍ:That I swear
And for this reason said Abdullah bin Mas'ud:
لَأَنْby Allahأَحْلِفَwhile I amبِاللَّهِlyingوَأَنَاis more belovedكَاذِبٌto meأَحَبُّthan thatإِلَيَّI swearمِنْby other than Himأَنْwhile I amأَحْلِفَtruthful.بِغَيْرِهِBecauseوَأَنَاwhen he swearsصَادِقٌ.by other than Allah
That I swear by Allah while I am lying is more beloved to me than that I swear by other than Him while I am truthful.
لِأَنَّهُBecauseإِذَاwhenحَلَفَhe swearsبِغَيْرِby other thanاللَّهِAllahفَقَدْthen indeedأَشْرَكَ،he has committed shirk,
Because when he swears by other than Allah then indeed he has committed shirk,
وَإِنْand even ifكَانَit isلَيْسَnotهُوَthe majorالشِّرْكَshirk,الْأَكْبَرَyet it isفَإِنَّهُgreater in sinأَعْظَمُthanإِثْمًاlying.مِنَAnd ifالْكَذِبِ،he swears
and even if it is not the major shirk, yet it is greater in sin than lying.
وَإِذَاAnd ifحَلَفَhe swearsكَاذِبًاwhile lyingفَعَلَيْهِthen upon himإِثْمُis the sinكَذِبِهِof his lieلَكِنَّهُbut he isمُوَحِّدٌmonotheistفِيinحَلِفِهِhis oathبِاللَّهِ.by Allah.
And if he swears while lying then upon him is the sin of his lie, but he is a monotheist in his oath by Allah.
وَالْمُصِيبَةُAnd the greatالْكَبِيرَةُcalamityمَعَwithالتَّوْحِيدِtawheedخَيْرٌis betterمِنْthanحَسَنَةٍa good deedمَعَwithشِرْكٍ.shirk.
And the great calamity with tawheed is better than a good deed with shirk.
