يَقُولُHe saysهَذَا.this.
He says this.
وَفِيAnd inرِوَايَةٍa narration(١)(1):—«اللَّهُمَّ"O Allah,لَاdo notتَحْرِمْنَاdeprive us ofأَجْرَهُمْ،their reward,
And in a narration (1): 'O Allah, do not deprive us of their reward,
وَلَاand do notتَفْتِنَّاtry usبَعْدَهُمْ»after them."
and do not try us after them.'
وَفِيAnd inرِوَايَةٍa narration(٢)(2):—«يَغْفِرُ"May forgiveاللَّهُAllahلَنَاusوَلَكُمْ،and you,
And in a narration (2): 'May Allah forgive us and you,
أَنْتُمْyou areسَلَفُنَاour predecessorsوَنَحْنُand weبِالْأَثَرِ»are in the footsteps/following."
you are our predecessors and we are in the footsteps.'
فَهَذَاSo thisوَنَحْوُهُand the like of itيَتَضَمَّنُincludesالسَّلَامَthe greetingعَلَيْهِمْupon them
So this and the like of it includes greeting them
وَالدُّعَاءَand supplicatingلَهُمْfor themوَلِلزَّائِرِand for the visitorمَعَهُمْ،with them.
and praying for them and for the visitor with them.
هُوَItالَّذِيis whatعَلَّمَهُtaughtأَصْحَابَهُhis companions
It is what he taught his companions
وَهُوَand itالَّذِيis whatجَاءَتْcameبِهِwith itالسُّنَّةُ.the Sunnah.
and it is what the Sunnah brought.
وَاللَّهُAnd Allahأَعْلَمُ.knows best.
And Allah knows best.
مِنْFromكَلَامِthe words ofابْنِIbnتَيْمِيَّةَTaymiyyah
From the words of Ibn Taymiyyah
رَحِمَهُmay have mercy on himاللَّهُAllahتَعَالَىthe Most Highوَالْمُسْلِمِينَand the Muslims
may Allah the Most High have mercy on him and the Muslims.
سُبْحَانَكَExalted are YouرَبَّكَO my LordرَبِّLord ofالْعِزَّةِmightعَمَّاabove whatيَصِفُونَthey describe
Exalted is your Lord, the Lord of might, above what they describe.
وَسَلَامٌAnd peaceعَلَىbe uponالْمُرْسَلِينَthe messengers
And peace be upon the messengers.
وَالْحَمْدُAnd praiseلِلَّهِis to AllahرَبِّLord ofالْعَالَمِينَthe worlds
And praise be to Allah, Lord of the worlds.
رَبِّO Lordاغْفِرْforgiveوَارْحَمْand have mercyوَأَنْتَand You areخَيْرُthe best ofالرَّاحِمِينَthe mercifulيَاOاللَّهُAllah
O Lord, forgive and have mercy, and You are the best of the merciful, O Allah.
