قَالَSaidالْبُخَارِيُّAl-Bukhariفِيinصَحِيحِهِ:his Sahih:
Al-Bukhari said in his Sahih:
رَأَىsawعُمَرُUmarأَنَسًاAnasيُصَلِّيprayingعِنْدَnearقَبْرٍ،a grave,
Umar saw Anas praying near a grave,
فَقَالَ:so he said:الْقَبْرَThe grave!الْقَبْرَ.The grave!
so he said: The grave! The grave!
قَالَ:He said:فَتَنَحَّيْتُSo I moved awayعَنِfromالْقَبْرِthe grave(١).(1).
He said: So I moved away from the grave (1).
وَقَالَAnd saidعَلِيُّAliبْنُson ofأَبِيAbiطَالِبٍ:Talib:
And Ali bin Abi Talib said:
لَاNoيُصَلَّىprayer is performedفِيinحَمَّامٍa bathhouseوَلَاnorعِنْدَnearقَبْرٍ.a grave.
No prayer is performed in a bathhouse nor near a grave.
ذَكَرَهُMentioned itأَبُوAbuعَبْدِAbdاللَّهِAllahابْنُson ofحَامِدٍHamid(٢).(2).
Abu Abdullah Ibn Hamid mentioned it (2).
وَعَنْAnd fromعَلِيِّAliبْنِson ofأَبِيAbiطَالِبٍTalibأَيْضًاalsoمَوْقُوفًاas Mawqufوَمَرْفُوعًاand Marfu'قَالَ:he said:
And also from Ali bin Abi Talib, as Mawquf and Marfu', he said:
شِرَارُThe worst ofالنَّاسِpeopleمَنْis the one whoيَتَّخِذُtakesالْقُبُورَthe gravesمَسَاجِدَ.as places of worship.
The worst of people are those who take graves as places of worship.
رَوَاهُNarrated itعَبْدُAbdالرَّزَّاقِAr-Razzaq(٣).(3).
Abd Ar-Razzaq narrated it (3).
وَعَنْAnd fromابْنِIbnعُمَرَUmarوَابْنِand IbnعَبَّاسٍAbbasكَرَاهَةُis the disapproval ofالصَّلَاةِprayerعِنْدَnearالْمَقْبَرَةِthe graveyard(٤).(4).
And from Ibn Umar and Ibn Abbas is the disapproval of prayer near the graveyard (4).
وَعَنْAnd fromزَيْدِZaidبْنِson ofثَابِتٍThabitأَنَّهُthatمَاتَdiedلَهُfor himابْنٌ،a son,
And from Zaid bin Thabit that a son of his died,
وَأَنَّand thatجَارِيَةًa maidservantلَهُمْtheirsوَغُلَامًاand a young boyاشْتَرَىboughtجِصًّاmortarوَآجُرًّا،and bricks,
and that a maidservant of theirs and a young boy bought mortar and bricks,
فَقَالَso saidزَيْدٌ:Zaid:مَاWhatتُرِيدُdo you wantإِلَىwithهَذَا؟this?
so Zaid said: What do you want with this?
قَالَ:He said:أُرِيدُI wantأَنْtoأُجَصِّصَplaster with mortarقَبْرَهُ،his grave,
He said: I want to plaster his grave with mortar,
وَأَنْand toأَبْنِيَbuildعِنْدَهُnear itمَسْجِدًا.a mosque.
and to build near it a mosque.

(1) Al-Bukhari mentioned it as Ta'liq from the Book of Prayer (Chapter: Are the graves of the pre-Islamic pagans dug up and their place taken as places of worship).
وَوَصَلَهُAnd connected itعَبْدُAbdالرَّزَّاقِAr-Razzaq(١/٤٠٤)(1/404)وَابْنُand IbnأَبِيAbiشَيْبَةَShaiba(٣/٣٧٢)،(3/372),وَإِسْنَادُهُand its chain of narrationصَحِيحٌ.is authentic.
And Abd Ar-Razzaq (1/404) and Ibn Abi Shaiba (3/372) connected it, and its chain of narration is authentic.
