As for one of the Sheikh's opponents and his contemporary, he is Sheikh Ali bin Abd al-Kafi al-Subki, who died in the year 756 AH, he has written a message titled "The consideration of the permanence of Paradise and Hell."

وَهِيَAnd it isرَدٌّa responseعَلَىtoرِسَالَةِthe messageشَيْخِof SheikhالإِسْلاَمِIslamابْنِIbnتَيْمِيَةَTaimiyaقَالَتْwho saidفِيها:in it:"وَبَدَأْنَا"And we beganبِالنَّارِ،with Hell,لِأَنَّنَاbecause weوَقَفْنَاhave stoppedعَلَىatتَصْنِيفِthe classificationلِبَعْضِof someأَهْلِpeopleالْعَصْرِof this eraفِيinفَنَائِهَا"its extinction."

And it is a response to the message of Sheikh Islam Ibn Taimiya, who said in it: "And we began with Hell, because we have stopped at the classification of some people of this era regarding its extinction."

وَقَالَAnd saidالدُّكْتُورُDr.عَلِيٌّAliالحَرْبِيُّ:Al-Harbi:إنَّThatالرِّسَالَةَthe message"رَدٌّis a responseعَلَىtoمَنْwhoقَالَsaidبِفَنَاءِabout the extinctionالنَّارِ"of Hell,"وَإنَّهَاand it isلِهَذَاfor this reasonلَاnotيَصِحُّvalidاسْتِدْلَالٌto use as evidenceالْخُصُومُthe opponentsبِهَاof itعَلَىagainstأَنَّthatابْنَIbnتَيْمِيَةَTaimiyaيَقُولُsaysبِفَنَاءِabout the extinctionالنَّارِ،of Hell,لِأَنَّهَاbecause itحُجَّةٌis an evidenceعَلَيْهِمْagainst themلَاnotلَهُمْ،for them,كَمَاasهُوَit isصَرِيحٌexplicitعُنْوَانُthe titleالرِّسَالَةِof the messageالْمُزْعُومَةِin question.

And Dr. Ali Al-Harbi said: The message "is a response to those who said about the extinction of Hell," and for this reason, it is not valid for the opponents to use it as evidence that Ibn Taimiya says about the extinction of Hell, because it is an evidence against them, not for them, as it is explicit in the title of the message in question.
