Response of the Sheikh of Islam to the doctrine of the Jahmiyyah.

وَقَدْAndتَكَلَّمَspokeالشَّيْخُthe Sheikhرَحِمَهُmay he have mercyاللَّهُAllah--عَلَىonالْجَهْمِيَّةِthe Jahmiyyah،,وَالْهَذَلِيَّةِand the Hadhiliyyah,,الْفَارَابِيَّةِthe Farabi،,وَرَجَّحَand favoredأَدِلَّةَthe proofsأَهْلِof the peopleالسُّنَّةِof the Sunnah,,وَاهْدَمَand demolishedشُبَهَthe argumentsأَهْلِof the peopleالْبِدْعَةِof innovation،,وَأَشَارَand pointedإِلَىtoبَعْضِsomeأَدِلَّةِproofsغَلَبَةِof predominanceالرَّضَاof pleasureعَلَىoverالْغَضَبِanger،,فَقَالَhe said--رَحِمَهُmay he have mercyاللَّهُAllah

And the Sheikh, may Allah have mercy on him, spoke about the Jahmiyyah, the Hadhiliyyah, and the Farabi, and favored the proofs of the people of the Sunnah, demolished the arguments of the people of innovation, and pointed to some proofs of the predominance of pleasure over anger, and he said - may Allah have mercy on him:

وَقَدْAndتَنَازَعَconflictedالنَّاسُpeopleفِيinذَلِكَthatعَلَىonثَلاَثَةِthreeأَقْوَالٍstatements

And the people have disagreed about that on three statements.

قِيلَIt was said::بِبَقَائِهِمَاabout their existence,,وَقِيلَand it was said::بِفَنَائِهِمَاabout their extinction,,وَقِيلَand it was said::بِبَقَاءِabout the existenceالْجَنَّةِof Paradise,,دُونَwithoutالنَّارِthe Fire.

It was said: about their existence, and it was said: about their extinction, and it was said: about the existence of Paradise, without the Fire.

أَمَّاAs forالْقَوْلُthe statementبِفَنَائِهَاabout its extinction::فَمَاwe have notرَءَاseenأَحَدًاanyoneحَكَىwho mentioned itعَنْfromأَحَدٍanyoneمِنَofالسَّلَفِthe predecessors،,مِنَfromالصَّحَابَةِthe companions،,وَالتَّابِعِينَand the followersلَهُمْof themبِإِحْسَانٍkindly.

As for the statement about its extinction: we have not seen anyone who mentioned it from anyone of the predecessors, from the companions, and those who followed them kindly.

وَإِنَّمَاBut ratherحَكَوْهُthey mentioned itعَنْfromالْجَهْمِAl-JahmبْنِbinصَفْوَانَSafa،,وَأَتْبَاعِهِمand his followersالْجَهْمِيَّةِthe Jahmiyyah.

But rather they mentioned it from Al-Jahm bin Safaa, and his followers the Jahmiyyah.

وَهَذَاAnd thisمِمَّاis from whatأَنْكَرَwas deniedعَلَيْهِon himأَئِمَّةُthe Imamsالإِسْلَامِof Islam،,بَلْbutذَلِكَthatمِمَّاis from whatأَكْفَرُوهُمْthey declared them disbelieversبِهِby it،,كَمَاasذُكِرَwas mentioned.

And this is from what the Imams of Islam denied, but that is from what they declared them disbelievers by it, as was mentioned.
