وَكُلَّمَاAnd wheneverرَأَوْاthey sawآيَةًa signقَالُواthey saidلِمُوسَى:to Moses:
And whenever they saw a sign, they said to Moses:
ادْعُPrayلَنَاfor usرَبَّكَyour Lordأَنْthat Heيَكْشِفَremovesعَنَّاfrom usالْبَلَاءَthe affliction
Pray for us your Lord that He removes from us the affliction
وَنَتُوبَand we repentوَنُؤْمِنَand we believeوَنُرْسِلَand we send
and we repent and we believe and we send
مَعَكَwith youبَنِيthe childrenإِسْرَائِيلَ.of Israel.
with you the children of Israel.
فَلَمَّاBut whenكَشَفَremovedاللَّهُAllahعَنْهُمُfrom themالْبَلَاءَthe afflictionنَكَثُواthey brokeعَهْدَهُمْ.their covenant.
But when Allah removed from them the affliction, they broke their covenant.
فَأَرْسَلْنَاSo We sentعَلَيْهِمُupon themالطُّوفَانَthe floodوَالْجَرَادَand the locusts
So We sent upon them the flood and the locusts
وَالْقُمَّلَand the liceوَالضَّفَادِعَand the frogsوَالدَّمَand the bloodآيَاتٍas signs
and the lice and the frogs and the blood as signs
مُفَصَّلَاتٍdetailedفَاسْتَكْبَرُواbut they were arrogantوَكَانُواand they wereقَوْمًاa peopleمُجْرِمِينَ.who were criminals.
detailed, but they were arrogant and they were a people who were criminals.
الْخُرُوجِExodus
Exodus
وَضَاقَتْAnd narrowedعَلَىuponبَنِيthe childrenإِسْرَائِيلَof Israelأَرْضُthe landمِصْرَof Egyptوَهِيَand it wasوَاسِعَةٌ.spacious.
And narrowed upon the children of Israel the land of Egypt and it was spacious.
وَمَاAnd whatيَصْنَعُونَdo they doبِخَصْبِwith the fertilityمِصْرَof Egyptوَخَيْرَاتِهَاand its resources
And what do they do with the fertility of Egypt and its resources
وَهُمْwhile they areفِيinسِجْنٍa prisonيَذُوقُونَtastingكُلَّeveryيَوْمٍdayصُنُوفًاkindsمِنَofالْعَذَابِthe tormentوَالْهَوَانِ؟and degradation?
while they are in a prison tasting every day kinds of torment and degradation?
إِلَىٰUntilمَتَىٰwhenيَصْبِرُونَ؟will they endure?أَلَيْسُواAre they notبَنِيchildrenآدَمَof Adam
Until when will they endure? Are they not children of Adam
يَشْعُرُونَwho feelبِالْأَذَىٰharmوَالْأَلَمِ؟and pain?
who feel harm and pain?
وَأَوْحَىٰAnd revealedاللَّهُAllahإِلَىٰtoمُوسَىٰMosesأَنْthat heيُسْرِيَshould travel by nightبِبَنِيwith the childrenإِسْرَائِيلَof Israelلَيْلًاat night
And Allah revealed to Moses that he should travel by night with the children of Israel at night
وَيَخْرُجَand go outبِهِمْwith themمِنْfromمِصْرَ.Egypt.
and go out with them from Egypt.
وَأَحَسَّAnd sensedبِذٰلِكَthatشُرْطَةُthe policeفِرْعَوْنَ،of Pharaoh,
And sensed that the police of Pharaoh,
وَلَهُمْand they hadعُيُونُeyesالْغُرَابِlike crowsوَشَامَةُand a markالنَّمْلِ،like ants,
and they had eyes like crows and a mark like ants,
وَأَخْبَرُواand they informedبِذٰلِكَof thatفِرْعَوْنَ.Pharaoh.
and they informed of that Pharaoh.
سَارَTravelledمُوسَىٰMosesبِبَنِيwith the childrenإِسْرَائِيلَof Israelفِيinاللَّيْلِthe nightنَحْوَtowardsالْأَرْضِthe landالْمُقَدَّسَةِ،the holy,
Travelled Moses with the children of Israel in the night towards the holy land,
وَهُمْand they wereاثْنَاtwelveعَشَرَtenسِبْطًا،tribes,
and they were twelve tribes,
كُلُّeachسِبْطٍtribeعَلَيْهِupon itأَمِيرٌ.a prince.
each tribe upon it a prince.
