فَقَالَ:So he said:
So he said:
يَاOقَوْمِmy people,إِنِّيindeed Iأَخَافُfearعَلَيْكُمْupon youمِثْلَlikeيَوْمِthe dayالْأَحْزَابِof the confederates,
O my people, indeed I fear upon you like the day of the confederates,
مِثْلَLikeدَأْبِthe customقَوْمِof the peopleنُوحٍof Noahوَعَادٍand 'Ad
Like the custom of the people of Noah and 'Ad,
وَثَمُودَand Thamud,وَالَّذِينَand thoseمِنْfromبَعْدِهِمْafter them.وَمَاAnd notاللَّهُAllahيُرِيدُintendsظُلْمًاinjusticeلِلْعِبَادِto the servants.
And Thamud and those from after them. And Allah does not intend injustice to the servants.
وَخَوْفُهُمُAnd their fearالرَّجُلُthe manالرَّشِيدُthe righteousيَوْمَdayالْقِيَامَةِof the resurrection.
And the righteous man's fear on the Day of Resurrection.
وَمَاAnd whatيَوْمُis the dayالْقِيَامَةِ؟of Resurrection?
And what is the Day of Resurrection?
يَوْمَThe dayيَفِرُّwill fleeالْمَرْءُmanمِنْfromأَخِيهِhis brother,
The day man will flee from his brother,
وَأُمِّهِAnd his motherوَأَبِيهِand his father,وَصَاحِبَتِهِand his spouseوَبَنِيهِand his children.
And his mother and his father, and his spouse and his children.
لِكُلِّFor everyامْرِىٍpersonمِنْهُمْamong themيَوْمَئِذٍthat dayشَأْنٌis a matterيُغْنِيهِthat will occupy him.
For every person among them that day is a matter that will occupy him.
الْأَخِلَّاءُClose friendsيَوْمَئِذٍthat dayبَعْضُهُمْsome of themلِبَعْضٍto someعَدُوٌّwill be enemies,إِلَّاexceptالْمُتَّقِينَthe righteous.
Close friends that day will be enemies to some, except the righteous.
فَلَاThen thereأَنْسَابَwill be no lineageبَيْنَهُمْbetween themيَوْمَئِذٍthat day,وَلَاand notيَتَسَاءَلُونَwill they ask about one another.
Then there will be no lineage between them that day, nor will they ask about one another.
يَوْمَThe dayيُنَادِيwill call outالْمَلِكُthe King,الْجَبَّارُ:the Compeller:لِمَنِ"To whomالْمُلْكُbelongs the dominionالْيَوْمَ؟today?"لِلَّهِ"To Allah,الْوَاحِدِthe One,الْقَهَّارِthe Prevailing!"
The day the King, the Compeller will call out: 'To whom belongs the dominion today?' 'To Allah, the One, the Prevailing!'
يَوْمَThe dayيَفْزَعُwill be terrifiedالنَّاسُthe peopleوَيَصْرُخُونَand cry out,وَيُنَادِيand will callبَعْضُهُمْsome of themبَعْضًا،to others,
The day the people will be terrified and cry out, and some of them will call to others,
وَيَوْمَAnd the dayيُوَلُّونَthey turnمُدْبِرِينَfleeing away,مَاnotلَهُمْfor themمِنَfromاللَّهِAllahمِنْis anyعَاصِمٍ.protector.
And the day they turn, fleeing away, they will have no protector from Allah.
فَقَالَSo saidالرَّجُلُthe man,الرَّشِيدُ:the righteous:
So the righteous man said:
وَيَاAnd Oقَوْمِmy people,إِنِّيindeed Iأَخَافُfearعَلَيْكُمْupon youيَوْمَthe Dayالتَّنَادِof Mutual Calling,
And O my people, indeed I fear upon you the Day of Mutual Calling,
يَوْمَThe dayتُوَلُّونَyou turnمُدْبِرِينَfleeing away,مَاnotلَكُمْfor youمِنَfromاللَّهِAllahمِنْis anyعَاصِمٍprotector.
The day you turn fleeing away, with no protector for you from Allah.
وَمَنْAnd whoeverيُضْلِلِAllah leaves to strayاللَّهُAllah,فَمَاthen notلَهُfor himمِنْis anyهَادٍ.guide.
And whoever Allah leaves to stray, then there is no guide for him.
وَقَالَAnd saidالرَّجُلُthe man,الرَّشِيدُ:the righteous:إِنَّ"Indeed,اللَّهَAllahقَدْhasوَهَبَكُمْbestowed upon youنِعْمَةً،a blessing,وَلَكِنَّكُمْbut youمَاdid notعَرَفْتُمْappreciate it."
And the righteous man said: "Indeed, Allah has bestowed upon you a blessing, but you did not appreciate it."
