وَإِنِّيAnd indeed Iلَأَظُنُّهُcertainly think himمِنَamongالْكَذِبِينَthe liars.
And indeed I certainly think him among the liars.
وَأَوْقَدَAnd kindledهَامَانُHamanعَلَىuponالطِّينِ،the clay,وَبَنَىand builtصَرْحاً،a tower,وَلَكِنْbutإِلَىtoأَيْنَ؟where?
And Haman kindled upon the clay, and built a tower, but to where?
تَعِبَTiredهَامَانُHamanوَتَعِبَand tiredالْبَنَّاؤُونَ،the builders,وَنَفِدَand ran outالطِّينُthe clayوَالْآجُرُّ،and the bricks,
Haman and the builders grew tired, and the clay and bricks ran out.
وَلَاAnd notيَزَالُis stillفِرْعَوْنُPharaohبَعِيداً.far.
And Pharaoh is still far.
لَمْHe did notيَصِلْreachإِلَىtoالسَّحَابِthe clouds,فَضْلاًlet aloneعَنِaboutالْقَمَرِ،the moon,
He did not reach the clouds, let alone the moon.
وَلَمْAnd he did notيَصِلْreachإِلَىtoالْقَمَرِthe moon,فَضْلاًlet aloneعَنِaboutالشَّمْسِ،the sun,
And he did not reach the moon, let alone the sun.
وَلَمْAnd he did notيَصِلْreachإِلَىtoالشَّمْسِthe sun,فَضْلاًlet aloneعَنِaboutالْكَوَاكِبِ،the stars,
And he did not reach the sun, let alone the stars.
وَلَمْAnd he did notيَصِلْreachإِلَىtoالْكَوَاكِبِthe stars,فَضْلاًlet aloneعَنِaboutالسَّمَاءِ،the sky.
And he did not reach the stars, let alone the sky.
وَخَابَAnd failedفِرْعَوْنُPharaohوَخَجِلَand was ashamed,وَعَجِزَand was helplessفِرْعَوْنُPharaohوَقَعَدَ!and sat down!
And Pharaoh failed, and was ashamed, and Pharaoh was helpless and sat down!
مِسْكِينٌPoor man,أَلَاdoes he notيَدْرِيknowأَنَّthatاللَّهَAllahخَلَقَcreatedالْأَرْضَthe earthوَالسَّمَاوَاتِand the heavensالْعُلَىmost high.
Poor man, does he not know that Allah created the earth and the heavens most high.
وَلَهُAnd to Himمَاis whatفِيis inالسَّمَاوَاتِthe heavensوَمَاand whatفِيis inالْأَرْضِthe earthوَمَاand whatبَيْنَهُمَاis between themوَمَاand whatتَحْتَis underالثَّرَىthe dust.
And to Him is what is in the heavens, and what is in the earth, and what is between them, and what is under the dust.
وَهُوَAnd Heالَّذِيis the Oneفِيinالسَّمَاءِthe skyإِلَهٌis Godوَفِيand inالْأَرْضِthe earthإِلَهٌis God.
And He is the One in the sky is God, and in the earth is God.
وَلَمْAnd did notيَجِدْfindفِرْعَوْنُPharaohحِيلَةًany trickإِلَّاexceptأَنْtoيَقْتُلَkillمُوسَى،Moses,وَحُجَّتُهُand his argumentأَنَّwas thatمُوسَىMosesيُظْهِرُcausesفِيinالْأَرْضِthe earthالْفَسَادَcorruption.
And Pharaoh found no trick except to kill Moses, and his argument was that Moses causes corruption in the earth.
وَقَالَAnd saidفِرْعَوْنُPharaohذَرُونِيLeave meأَقْتُلْto killمُوسَىMosesوَلْيَدْعُand let him callرَبَّهُhis Lord.إِنِّيIndeed Iأَخَافُfearأَنْthatيُبَدِّلَhe will changeدِينَكُمْyour religionأَوْorأَنْthatيُظْهِرَhe will causeفِيinالْأَرْضِthe earthالْفَسَادَcorruption.
And Pharaoh said, 'Leave me to kill Moses, and let him call his Lord. Indeed I fear that he will change your religion or that he will cause corruption in the earth.'
