فَمِنْSo fromأَيْنَwhereهَذَا؟is this?

So from where is this?

هَذَاThisمِنَis fromاللهِ!Allah!

This is from Allah!

اِقْتَنَعَConvincedالسَّحَرَةُthe sorcerersبِأَنَّthatمُوسَىMosesنَبِيٌّis a prophetوَأَنَّand thatاللهَAllahقَدْhas indeedمَنَحَهُgranted himمُعْجِزَةً,a miracle,فَصَرَخُواso they cried out

The sorcerers became convinced that Moses was a prophet and that Allah had indeed granted him a miracle, so they cried out.

وَهَتَفُواand shouted﴿(آمَنَّاWe believeبِرَبِّin the Lordمُوسَىof Mosesوَهُرُوْنَand Aaron).)

and shouted, "We believe in the Lord of Moses and Aaron."

وَالْقِيAnd fellالسَّحَرَةُthe sorcerersسَجِدِينَprostratingقَالُواthey saidآمَنَّاWe believeبِرَبِّin the Lordالْعَلَمِيْنَof the worlds,رَبِّLordمُوسَىof Mosesوَهُرُونَand Aaron.

And the sorcerers fell prostrating. They said, "We believe in the Lord of the worlds, the Lord of Moses and Aaron."

وَجُنَّAnd went madجُنُونُmadnessفِرْعَوْنَ!Pharaoh!

And Pharaoh went mad!

٢٥25--وَعِيْدُThreatفِرْعَوْنَof Pharaoh

25 - Pharaoh's Threat

وَقَامَAnd stoodفِرْعَوْنُPharaohوَقَعَدَand satوَبَرَقَand flashedفِرْعَوْنُPharaohوَرَعَدَ!and thundered!

Pharaoh stood and sat, and Pharaoh flashed and thundered!

مِسْكِينُPoorفِرْعَوْنُ!Pharaoh!وَقَعَHappenedمَاwhatلَمْnotيَكُنْwasيَرْجُوهُ!he hoped for!

Poor Pharaoh! What he did not hope for happened!

إِنَّهُHeأَرَادَwantedأَنْtoيَهْزِمَdefeatمُوسَىMosesبِالسَّحَرَةِwith the sorcerersفَأَصْبَحَso becameالسَّحَرَةُthe sorcerersجُنْدَsoldiersمُوسَى.of Moses.

He wanted to defeat Moses with the sorcerers, so the sorcerers became the soldiers of Moses.

إِنَّهُHeأَرَادَwantedأَنْtoيَصُدَّdivertالنَّاسَthe peopleعَنْfromمُوسَى,Moses,فَجَاءَso he broughtبِالسَّحَرَةِthe sorcerersفَإِذَاand beholdبِهِمْthemأَوَّلُfirstالْمُؤْمِنِينَ!the believers!

He wanted to divert people from Moses, so he brought the sorcerers, and behold, they were the first believers!

إِنَّIndeedسِهَامَهُhis arrowsارْتَدَّتْreboundedعَلَيْهِ!upon him!

Indeed, his arrows rebounded upon him!

وَكَانَAnd wasفِرْعَوْنُPharaohيَعْتَقِدُbelievingأَنَّهُthat heمَلِكُis kingالْعُقُولِof mindsكَمَاasأَنَّهُheمَلِكُis kingالْأَجْسَامِ,of bodies,وَأَنَّand thatلَهُhe hasسُلْطَانًاauthorityعَلَىoverالْقُلُوبِheartsكَمَاasأَنَّheلَهُhasسُلْطَانًاauthorityعَلَىoverالْأَلْسِنَةِ,tongues,وَلَيْسَand there is noلِأَحَدٍoneفِيinمِصْرَEgyptأَنْtoيَعْتَقِدَbelieveشَيْئًاanythingأَوْorيُؤْمِنَbelieveبِشَيْءٍin anythingإِلَّاexceptبِإِذْنِهِ.by his permission.

And Pharaoh was believing that he was king of minds as he was king of bodies, and that he had authority over hearts as he had authority over tongues, and that no one in Egypt could believe anything or have faith in anything except by his permission.
