وَأَمَّاAnd as forأَمَانَتُهُhis trustworthinessيَاOأَبَتِfatherفَلِأَنَّهُthen it is because heمَشَىwalkedأَمَامِيin front of meلَاnotيَنْظُرُlookingإِلَيَّat meطُولَallالطَّرِيقِthe way.
And as for his trustworthiness, O father, it is because he walked in front of me, not looking at me all the way.

And it is necessary for the hired worker, and necessary for the servant, to be strong and trustworthy.
فَإِذَاSo ifلَمْnotيَكُنْhe isقَوِيًّاstrongضَعُفَhe weakensعَنِfromالْعَمَلِthe work.
So if he is not strong, he weakens in the work.

And if he is not trustworthy, his strength will not benefit us along with his betrayal.

And the lady's words matched a desire in the elder's heart, but he thought about the matter.

As a father, and he thought about the matter as a wise elder.

The elder said to himself, "Who is more deserving than this young man to be my son-in-law?"
وَأَيْنَAnd whereأَجِدُcan I findفِيinالدُّنْيَاthe worldأَفْضَلَanyone betterمِنْthanهَذَاthisالشَّابِّ!young man!

And perhaps God has sent this young man to me to be a son-in-law and a helper for me.
فَقَالَSo he saidفِيwithوَقَارٍdignityوَشَفَقَةٍand compassionوَحِكْمَةٍand wisdom:
So he said with dignity, compassion, and wisdom:

Indeed I want to marry you to one of these two daughters of mine, upon the condition that you work for me for eight years.
وَهَذَاAnd thisهُوَisصَدَاقُكَyour dowry.أَمَّاAs forهَذِهِtheseالسَّنَوَاتُyearsالثَّمَانِيthe eightفَلَاthen there is noبُدَّalternativeمِنْهَاto them.
And this is your dowry. As for these eight years, they are necessary.
