ذَهَبَتْWentالسَّيِّدَةُthe ladyوَوَقَفَتْand stoodتَسْمَعُlisteningحَدِيثَto the talkالنِّسَاءِof the womenفِيinالْقَصْرِthe palace.

هَلْDidجَاءَتِcomeالْمُرْضِعُthe wet nurseالَّتِيwhomطَلَبَتْهَاrequested herالْمَلِكَةُthe Queenمِنْfromأَسْوَانَ؟Aswan?

سَمِعَتْHeardأُخْتُthe sisterمُوسَىof Mosesهَذَاthisالْكَلامَtalkوَقَالَتْand saidبِأَدَبٍwith politenessوَلُطْفٍ:and kindness:
The sister of Moses heard this talk and said with politeness and kindness:
أَنَاIأَعْرِفُknowامْرَأَةًa womanفِيinالْبَلَدِ،the country,لَاnoبُدَّdoubtأَنْthatيَرْتَضِعَwill nurseمِنْهَاfrom herالطِّفْلُ.the child.

قَالَتْSaidامْرَأَةٌ:a woman:أَنَاIلَاdo notأُصَدِّقُ!believe!قَدْIndeedجَرَّبْنَاwe have triedسِتَّsixمَرَاضِعَ،wet nurses,وَلَكِنَّbutالطِّفْلَthe childلَمْdid notيَرْتَضِعْ.nurse.
A woman said: I do not believe! Indeed we have tried six wet nurses, but the child did not nurse.
قَالَتْSaidأُخْرَىanotherوَلِمَاذَاand whyلَاnotنُجَرِّبُwe tryالسَّابِعَةَ،the seventh,مَاذَاwhatعَلَيْنَا؟is upon us?
Another said: And why not we try the seventh, what is upon us?
وَوَصَلَAnd reachedالْخَبَرُthe newsإِلَىtoالْمَلِكَةِthe Queenفَطَلَبَتِso she requestedالْجَارِيَةَthe maidservantوَقَالَتْ:and said:إِذْهَبِيGoوَخُذِيand takeمَعَكِwith youهَذِهِthisالْمَرْأَةَ.woman.
And the news reached the Queen, so she requested the maidservant and said: Go and take this woman with you.
وَجَاءَتْAnd cameأُمُّthe motherمُوسَى،of Moses,وَجَاءَتْand cameخَادِمَةٌa servantوَقَدَّمَتْand presentedإِلَيْهَاto herمُوسَى.Moses.
And the mother of Moses came, and a servant came and presented Moses to her.
فَاعْتَنَقَSo embracedالطِّفْلُthe childالْمَرْأَةَthe womanوَأَقْبَلَand beganيَرْتَضِعُ،to nurse,كَأَنَّهُas if heكَانَwasمِنْهَاfrom herعَلَىatمِيعَادٍ.an appointment.
So the child embraced the woman and began to nurse, as if he was at an appointment from her.
وَلِمَاذَاAnd whyلَاnotيَرْتَضِعُhe nurseوَهِيَand sheأُمُّهُis his motherالْحَنُونُ؟the affectionate?
And why should he not nurse, and she is his affectionate mother?
