وَحَمَدَAnd praisedيُوسُفُYusufاللّٰهَAllahحَمْدًاwith praiseطَيِّبًاgoodكَثِيرًاabundant
And Yusuf praised Allah with abundant good praise.
وَشَكَرَAnd thankedيُوسُفُYusufعَلَىٰforذَٰلِكَthatشُكْرًاwith gratitudeعَظِيمًاgreat
And Yusuf thanked for that with great gratitude.
وَبَقِيَAnd remainedيَعْقُوبُYaqubوَآلُand the family ofيَعْقُوبَYaqubفِيinمِصْرَEgyptزَمَنًاa timeطَوِيلًاlong
And Yaqub and the family of Yaqub remained in Egypt for a long time,
وَمَاتَand diedيَعْقُوبُYaqubوَزَوْجَتُهُand his wifeفِيinمِصْرَEgypt
and Yaqub and his wife died in Egypt.
٢٥25--حُسْنُGoodالْعَاقِبَةِoutcome
25 - Good outcome
وَلَمْAnd did notيَشْغَلْoccupyيُوسُفُYusufهَٰذَاthisالْمُلْكَkingdomالْعَظِيمَgreatعَنِfromاللّٰهِAllah
And this great kingdom did not distract Yusuf from Allah,
وَلَمْand did notيُغَيِّرْهُchange him
nor did it change him.
وَكَانَAnd wasيُوسُفُYusufيَذْكُرُrememberingاللّٰهَAllah
And Yusuf was remembering Allah,
وَيَعْبُدُهُand worshipping Himوَيَخَافُهُand fearing Him
and worshipping Him, and fearing Him.
وَكَانَAnd wasيُوسُفُYusufيَحْكُمُjudgingبِحُكْمِby the judgment ofاللّٰهِAllah
And Yusuf was judging by the judgment of Allah
وَيُنْفِذُand carrying outأَوَامِرَthe commands ofاللّٰهِAllah
and carrying out the commands of Allah.
وَكَانَAnd wasيُوسُفُYusufلَاnotيَرَىseeingالْمُلْكَthe kingdomكَثِيرًاmuch
And Yusuf did not see the kingdom as much,
وَلَاnorيَعُدُّهُcounting itشَيْئًاa thingكََبِيرًاgreat
nor did he count it as a great thing,
وَكَانَand wasيُوسُفُYusufلَاnotيُحِبُّlikingأَنْtoيَمُوتَdie
and Yusuf did not like to die
مَوْتَthe deathمَلِكٍof a kingوَيُحْشَرَand be gatheredمَعَwithالْمُلُوكِthe kings
the death of a king and be gathered with the kings,
بَلْratherكَانَhe wasيُحِبُّlikingأَنْtoيَمُوتَdie
rather he liked to die
مَوْتَthe deathعَبْدٍof a servantوَيُحْشَرَand be gatheredمَعَwithالصَّالِحِينَthe righteous
the death of a servant and be gathered with the righteous.
وَكَانَAnd wasدُعَاءُthe prayer ofيُوسُفَYusufرَبِّMy LordقَدْindeedأَتَيْتَنِيYou have brought meمِنَofالْمُلْكِthe dominion
And the prayer of Yusuf was: 'My Lord, You have indeed given me of dominion
وَعَلَّمْتَنِيand taught meمِنْofتَأْوِيلِthe interpretationالْأَحَادِيثِof stories
and taught me of the interpretation of stories.
فَاطِرَOriginatorالسَّمَاوَاتِof the heavensوَالْأَرْضِand the earthأَنْتَYouوَلِيٌّare Protectorفِيinالدُّنْيَاthe worldوَالْآخِرَةِand the Hereafter
Originator of the heavens and the earth, You are my Protector in this world and the Hereafter.
تَوَفَّنِيCause me to dieمُسْلِمًاas a Muslimوَالْحِقْنِيand join meبِالصَّالِحِينَwith the righteous
Cause me to die a Muslim and join me with the righteous.'
تَوَفَّاهُCaused him to dieاللّٰهُAllahمُسْلِمًاas a Muslimوَأَلْحَقَهُand joined himبِآبَائِهِwith his fathers
Allah caused him to die as a Muslim and joined him with his fathers
إِبْرَاهِيمَAbrahamوَإِسْحَاقَand Isaacوَيَعْقُوبَand Yaqub
Abraham, Isaac, and Yaqub.
صَلَّىMay send peaceاللّٰهُAllahعَلَيْهِمْupon themوَعَلَىٰand uponنَبِيِّنَاour Prophetوَسَلَّمَand grant peace
May Allah send peace upon them and upon our Prophet and grant peace.
