يَاOسَلَامُpeace
O peace!
هَلْIsيُوسُفُJosephهُوَheعَزِيزُAzizمِصْرَ؟Egypt?
Is Joseph Aziz of Egypt?
هُوَHeالَّذِيwhoعَلَىٰis overخَزَائِنِthe treasuriesالْأَرْضِ؟the land?
He is the one over the treasuries of the land?
هُوَHeالَّذِيwhoكَانَwasيَأْمُرُorderingلَنَاusبِالطَّعَامِ؟for food?
He is the one who was ordering us for food?
وَمَاAndبَقِيَremainedعِنْدَهُمْwith them.
And what remained with them.
شَكَّdoubtedأَنَّthatالَّذِيthe oneكَلَّمَهُمْspoke to themهُوَisيُوسُفُJosephبْنُson ofيَعْقُوبَ،Jacob,
He doubted that the one who spoke to them was Joseph son of Jacob.
قَالُواThey said﴿(وَإِنَّكَAnd indeed youلَأَنْتَareيُوسُفُJosephزقَالَHe saidأَنَاIيُوسُفُJosephوَهَذَاand thisأَخِيis my brotherقَدْhasمَنَّbestowedاللَّهُAllahعَلَيْنَاupon usإِنَّهُIndeed, whoeverمَنْwhoeverيَتَّقِfearsوَيَصْبِرْand is patientفَإِنَّthen indeedاللَّهَAllahلَاdoes notيُضِيعُwasteأَجْرَthe rewardالْمُحْسِنِينَof the doers of good...قَالُواThey saidتَاللهِBy Allah,لَقَدْindeedأَثَرَكَAllah has preferredاللَّهُAllahعَلَيْنَاyou over usوَإِنْand indeed weكُنَّاwereلَخَطِينَsinners.))
They said, "And indeed you, Joseph, are!" He said, "I am Joseph, and this is my brother. Allah has bestowed upon us. Indeed, whoever fears Allah and is patient – then indeed, Allah does not waste the reward of the doers of good." They said, "By Allah, Allah has certainly preferred you over us, and indeed we have been sinners."
وَمَاAndلَامَهُمُblamed themيُوسُفُJosephعَلَىٰforفِعْلَتِهِمْ،their deed,بَلْbutقَالَhe said﴿(يَغْفِرُAllah will forgiveاللَّهُAllahلَكُمْyouوَهُوَand Heأَرْحَمُis the Most Mercifulالرَّحِمِينَof the merciful.۲۳23--يُوسُفُJosephيُرْسِلُsendsإِلَىٰtoيَعْقُوبَJacob
And Joseph did not blame them for their deed, but said, "Allah will forgive you, and He is the Most Merciful of the merciful. 23 - Joseph sends to Jacob
وَاشْتَاقَAnd longedيُوسُفُJosephإِلَىٰforلِقَاءِmeetingيَعْقُوبَ،Jacob,وَكَيْفَand howلَاnotيَشْتَاقُhe longsإِلَيْهِfor himوَقَدْand indeedطَالَhas prolongedالْفِرَاقُthe separation!!!وَلِمَاذَاAnd whyيَصْبِرُhe should be patientوَقَدْand indeedظَهَرَhas appearedالسِّرُّ؟the secret?
And Joseph longed for meeting Jacob, and how could he not long for him when the separation had been prolonged! And why should he be patient when the secret had been revealed?
وَكَيْفَAnd howيَطِيبُcan be pleasantلَهُfor himالشَّرَابُthe drinkوَالطَّعَامُand the foodوَأَبُوهُwhile his fatherلَاnotيَطِيبُis pleasantلَهُfor himشَرَابٌdrinkوَلَاnorطَعَامٌfoodوَلَاnorمَنَامُ.sleep.
And how can the drink and food be pleasant for him while his father cannot find pleasantness in drink, nor food, nor sleep.
قَدْIndeedانْكَشَفَhas been revealedالسِّرُّ،the secret,قَدْindeedظَهَرَhas appearedالسِّرُّthe secret,،,وَقَدْand indeedأَرَادَwilledاللَّهُAllahأَنْtoتَقَرَّbe delightedعَيْنُthe eyeيَعْقُوبَ.of Jacob.
The secret has been revealed, the secret has appeared, and Allah willed that the eye of Jacob be delighted.
