نَسْتَبِقُWe raceوَتَرَكْنَاand we leftيُوسُفَYusufعِنْدَatمَتَاعِنَاour belongingsفَأَكَلَهُso he was eaten byالذِّئْبُthe wolf.
We race, and we left Yusuf at our belongings, so the wolf ate him.
وَضَحِكَAnd laughedيُوسُفُYusufفِيinنَفْسِهِhimself,وَلَكِنْbutلَمْdid notيَقُلْsayشَيْئًاanything,وَاشْتَاقَand longedيُوسُفُYusufإِلَىforأَخِيهِhis brotherبِنْيَامِينَBenjamin.
And Yusuf laughed to himself, but said nothing, and Yusuf longed for his brother Benjamin.
وَأَرَادَAnd wantedاللَّهُAllahأَنْtoيَمْتَحِنَtestيَعْقُوبَYaqubمَرَّةًtimeثَانِيَةًsecond,فَأَمَرَso orderedلَهُمْfor themيُوسُفُYusufبِالطَّعَامِfood.
And Allah wanted to test Yaqub a second time, so Yusuf ordered food for them.
وَقَالَAnd saidلَهُمْ:to them:ائْتُونِيBring to meبِأَخٍwith a brotherلَكُمْof yoursمِنْfromأَبِيكُمْyour father
And said to them: Bring to me a brother of yours from your father.
وَلَاAnd notتَجِدُونَyou will findطَعَامًاfoodإِذَاifلَمْnotتَأْتُواyou bringبِهِhim.
And you will not find food if you do not bring him.
وَأَمَرَAnd orderedيُوسُفُYusufبِمَالِهِمْtheir moneyفَوُضِعَso it was placedفِيinمَتَاعِهِمْtheir belongings.
And Yusuf ordered their money, so it was placed in their belongings.
بَيْنَBetweenيَعْقُوبَYaqubوَأَبْنَائِهِand his sons
Between Yaqub and his sons
وَرَجَعُواAnd they returnedإِلَىtoأَبِيهِمْtheir fatherوَأَخْبَرُوهُand informed himبِالْخَبَرِof the newsوَقَالُواand saidأَرْسِلْSendمَعَنَاwith usأَخَانَاour brother,وَإِلَّاand if not,لَاnotنَجِدُwe will findخَيْرًاprovisionsعِنْدَwithالْعَزِيزِthe ruler.
And they returned to their father and informed him of the news and said: Send our brother with us, and if not, we will not find provisions with the ruler.
وَطَلَبُواAnd they askedمِنْfromيَعْقُوبَYaqubبِنْيَامِينَBenjaminوَقَالُوا:and said:إِنَّاIndeed, weلَهُfor himلَحَافِظُونَare guardians.
And they asked Yaqub for Benjamin and said: Indeed, we for him are guardians.
قَالَSaidيَعْقُوبُYaqub:هَلْWillآمَنُكُمْI entrust youعَلَيْهِwith himإِلَّاexceptكَمَاasأَمِنْتُكُمْI entrusted youعَلَىwithأَخِيهِhis brotherمِنْfromقَبْلُbefore?
Yaqub said: Will I entrust you with him except as I entrusted you with his brother before?
هَلْHaveنَسِيتُمْyou forgottenقِصَّةَthe storyيُوسُفَ؟of Yusuf?أَتَحْفَظُونَWill you guardبِنْيَامِينَBenjaminكَمَاasحَفِظْتُمْyou guardedيُوسُفَ؟Yusuf?
Have you forgotten the story of Yusuf? Will you guard Benjamin as you guarded Yusuf?
اللَّهُAllahخَيْرٌis the bestحَافِظًاguardianوَهُوَand Heأَرْحَمُis the most mercifulالرَّاحِمِينَof the merciful.
Allah is the best guardian, and He is the most merciful of the merciful.
وَوَجَدُواAnd they foundمَالََهُمْtheir moneyفِيinمَتَاعِهِمْtheir belongings,فَقَالُواso they saidلِأَبِيهِمْ:to their father:إِنَّIndeed,الْعَزِيزَthe rulerرَجُلٌis a manكَرِيمٌ،generous,قَدْhe hasرَدَّreturnedمَالََنَاour moneyوَلَمْand notيَأْخُذْtakenمِنَّاfrom usثَمَنًا،a price,أَرْسِلْsendمَعَنَاwith usبِنْيَامِينَBenjaminنَأْخُذْwe will takeحَقَّهُhis shareأَيْضًاalso.
And they found their money in their belongings, so they said to their father: Indeed, the ruler is a generous man, he has returned our money and has not taken a price from us, send with us Benjamin, we will take his share also.
