Its head
وَقَالَAnd he saidلِلْأَوَّلِto the first::اذْكُرْنِيmention meعِنْدَwithرَبِّكَyour Lord.
And he said to the first: Mention me with your Lord.
وَخَرَجَAnd went outالْرَّجُلَانِ،the two men,فَكَانَso wasالْأَوَّلُthe firstسَاقِيًاa cupbearerلِلْمَلِكِto the kingوَصُلِبَand was crucifiedالْآخَرُ.the other.
And the two men went out, so the first was a cupbearer to the king and the other was crucified.
وَنَسِيَAnd forgotالسَّاقِيthe cupbearerأَنْtoيَذْكُرَmentionيُوسُفَJosephعِنْدَwithالْمَلِكِthe king
And the cupbearer forgot to mention Joseph with the king
وَأَقَامَand remainedيُوسُفُJosephفِيinالسِّجْنِthe prisonسِنِينَ.years.
and Joseph remained in the prison for years.
١٣13--رُؤْيَاVisionالْمَلِكِof the King
13 - Vision of the King
وَرَأَىAnd sawمَلِكُkingمِصْرَof Egyptرُؤْيَاa visionعَجِيبَةً،wondrous,
And the king of Egypt saw a wondrous vision,
رَأَىhe sawفِيinالْمَنَامِthe dreamسَبْعَsevenبَقَرَاتٍcowsسِمَانٍ،fat,
he saw in the dream seven fat cows,
وَيَأْكُلُand ateهَذِهِtheseالْبَقَرَاتِcowsسَبْعَsevenبَقَرَاتٍcowsعِجَافٍ.lean.
and these cows ate seven lean cows.
وَرَأَىAnd sawالْمَلِكُthe kingسَبْعَsevenسُنْبُلَاتٍears of grainخُضْرٍgreenوَسَبْعَand sevenسُنْبُلَاتٍears of grainيَابِسَاتٍ.dry.
And the king saw seven green ears of grain and seven dry ears of grain.
تَعَجَّبَWas amazedالْمَلِكُthe kingمِنْfromهَذِهِthisالرُّؤْيَاvisionالْعَجِيبَةِ،wondrous,
The king was amazed by this wondrous vision,
وَسَأَلَand askedجُلَسَاءَهُhis courtiersعَنْaboutتَأْوِيلِthe interpretationالرُّؤْيَا.of the vision.
and asked his courtiers about the interpretation of the vision.
قَالُوا:They said:هَذَاThisلَيْسَis notبِشَيْءٍ،anything,
They said: This is nothing,
النَّائِمُthe sleeperيَرَىseesأَشْيَاءَthingsكَثِيرَةًmanyلَاthat have noحَقِيقَةَrealityلَهَا.for them.
the sleeper sees many things that have no reality for them.
وَلَكِنْButقَالَsaidالسَّاقِي:the cupbearer:لَا،No,بَلْratherأُخْبِرُكُمْI will inform youبِتَأْوِيلِof the interpretationهَذِهِof thisالرُّؤْيَا.vision.
But the cupbearer said: No, rather I will inform you of the interpretation of this vision.
وَذَهَبَAnd wentالسَّاقِيthe cupbearerإِلَىtoالسِّجْنِ،the prison,وَسَأَلَand askedيُوسُفَJosephعَنْaboutتَأْوِيلِthe interpretationرُؤْيَاof the visionالْمَلِكِ.of the king.
And the cupbearer went to the prison and asked Joseph about the interpretation of the vision of the king.
كَانَWasيُوسُفُJosephجَوَادًاgenerousكَرِيمًاnobleمُشْفِقًاcompassionateعَلَىtowardsخَلْقِthe creationاللَّهِ،of God,فَأَخْبَرَهُso he informed himبِالتَّأْوِيلِ.of the interpretation.
Joseph was generous, noble, and compassionate towards the creation of God, so he informed him of the interpretation.
وَكَانَAnd wasيُوسُفُJosephجَوَادًاgenerousكَرِيمًاnobleلَاnotيَعْرِفُknowingالْبُخْلَ.stinginess.
And Joseph was generous and noble, not knowing stinginess.
