They do not know what benefits them in their livelihood and their afterlife, and what harms them in that.

so this is a denial of Lordship, and an attribution to the Lord, the Most High, of what does not befit Him.
وَمَاAnd whatقَدَرَHe has measuredحَقٌّis a true,,قَدْرٌestimationه مِنof it fromنَسَبٍits attributionإِلَيْهِto Him.
And what He has measured is a true estimation of it from its attribution to Him.
الثَّانِيThe second::أُخِذَتْis takenاسْمِfrom the nameاللَّهِof Allah»"الْمَأْلُوهِthe Deifiedالْمَعْبُودِthe Worshipped.
The second: is taken from the name of Allah, "the Deified, the Worshipped."
وَلَاAnd there is noسَبِيلٌwayلِلْعِبَادِfor the servantsإِلَىtoمَعْرِفَةِknowingعِبَادَتِهِHis worshipإِلَّاexceptمِنْfromطَرِيقِthe path ofرُسُلِهِHis messengers.
And there is no way for the servants to knowing His worship except from the path of His messengers.
المَوْضِعُThe locationالثَّالِثُthe third::مِنْis fromاسْمِهِHis name«الرَّحْمَـٰنُ»"the Most Merciful",,فَإِنَّfor indeedرَحْمَتَهُHis mercyتَمْنَعُpreventsإِهْمَالَneglectingعِبَادِهِHis servants,,وَعَدَمَand the absence ofتَعْرِيفِهِمinforming themمَاof whatيَنَالُونَthey attainبِهِtherebyغَايَةَthe utmostكَمَالِهِمof their perfection.
The third location: is from His name "the Most Merciful," for indeed His mercy prevents neglecting His servants, and the absence of informing them of what they attain thereby of the utmost of their perfection.
فَمَنSo whoeverأَعْطَىgivesاسْمَthe name«الرَّحْمَـٰنُ»"the Most Merciful"حَقَّهُits dueعَرَفَknowsأَنَّهُthat itمُتَمَضِّنٌentailsلِإِرْسَالِthe sending ofالرُّسُلِthe messengers,,وَإِنْزَالِand the revealing ofالْكُتُبِthe books,,أَعْظَمُgreaterمِنْthanتَمَضُّنِهِits entailment ofإِنْزَالِsending downالْغَيْثِthe rainوَإِنْبَاتِand causing to growالْكَلَأِthe vegetation,,وَإِخْرَاجِand bringing outالْحُبِّthe grain.
So whoever gives the name "the Most Merciful" its due knows that it entails the sending of the messengers, and the revealing of the books, greater than its entailment of sending down the rain and causing to grow the vegetation, and bringing out the grain.

For the requirement of mercy for what is attained thereby of the life of the hearts and souls is greater than its requirement for what is attained thereby of the life of the bodies and physical forms, but the veiled people only perceived from this name the share of the cattle and beasts.

The fourth location: is from the mention of the Day of Judgment, for indeed it is the day wherein Allah judges the servants therein by their deeds, so He rewards them for the good deeds; and punishes them for the sins and misdeeds.
