ٱلْحُدَيْبِيَةُal-HudaybiyahقَوْلُهُHis saying: :﴿وَلَاAnd do notتُمْسِكُواhold ontoبِعِصَمِthe bonds ofٱلْكَافِرِينَthe disbelievers﴾﴾[ٱلْمُمْتَحَنَةِ:[Al-Mumtahanah:١٠]10]
His saying: "And do not hold onto the bonds of the disbelievers" [Al-Mumtahanah: 10].
وَهَذَاAnd thisٱلْقَوْلُsayingيُقَالُis said: :
And this saying is said:
إِنَّمَاIndeedنَهَىhe prohibitedعَنْagainstٱلْتَّمَسُّكِholding ontoبِٱلْعِصْمَةِthe bondsمِنْofكَانُواthose who wereمُتَزَوِّجِينَmarriedكَافِرَةً،to a disbeliever,وَلَمْand they were notيَكُونُواbeingحِينََئِذٍat that timeمُتَزَوِّجِينَmarriedإِلَّاexceptبِمُشْرِكَةٍto a polytheistوَثَنِيَّةٍpaganفَلَمْSo did notيَدْخُلُواenterفِيintoذَٰلِكَthatٱلْكِتَابِيَّاتِthe People of the Book.
Indeed, he prohibited holding onto the bonds of those who were married to a disbeliever, and they were not married at that time except to a polytheist pagan, so the People of the Book did not enter that.
فَصْلٌSection
Section
وَكَذَٰلِكَAnd likewiseلَفْظُthe termٱلصَّـٰلِحُthe righteousوَٱلشَّهِيدُand the martyrوَٱلصِّدِّيقُand the truthfulيُذْكَرُis mentionedمُفَرَدًۭا،individually,فَتَتَنَاوَلُit includesٱلنَّبِيِّينَ،the prophets,قَالَHe saidتَعَالَىthe Most Highفِي حَقِّregardingٱلْخَلِيلِ:the Friend:﴿وَأَوْلَيْكُمْAnd We gave himأَجْرَهُhis rewardفِيinٱلدُّنْيَاthe worldوَإِنَّهُand indeed, heفِيinٱلْآخِرَةِthe Hereafterلَمِنَis fromٱلصَّـٰلِحِينَthe righteous[ٱلْعَنْكَبُوتِ:[Al-Ankabut:٢٧]27]
And likewise, the term 'the righteous', 'the martyr', and 'the truthful' is mentioned individually, which includes the prophets. He said, the Most High regarding the Friend: "And We gave him his reward in the world, and indeed, he is from the righteous in the Hereafter" [Al-Ankabut: 27].
وَقَالَ:And He said:﴿وَآتَيْنَاهُAnd We granted himفِيinٱلدُّنْيَاthe worldحَسَنَةًgoodnessوَإِنَّهُand indeed, heفِيinٱلْآخِرَةِthe Hereafterلَمِنَis fromٱلصَّـٰلِحِينَthe righteous)[ٱلنَّحْلِ][An-Nahl]وَقَالَAnd saidٱلْخَلِيلُthe Friend:رَبِّO Lord,هَبْgrantلِيmeحُكْمًۭاjudgmentوَأَلْحِقْنِيand make me joinبِٱلصَّـٰلِحِينَ)with the righteous)[ٱلشُّعَرَاءِ][Ash-Shu'ara]وَقَالَAnd saidيُوسُفُJoseph:تَوَفَّنِيLet me dieمُسْلِمًاas a Muslimوَأَلْحِقْنِيand join meبِٱلصَّـٰلِحِينَwith the righteous"﴾﴾[يُوسُفَ:[Yusuf:١٠١]101]وَقَالَAnd saidسُلَيْمَانُSolomon:وَأَدْخِلْنِيAnd admit meبِرَحْمَتِكَby Your mercyفِيintoعِبَادِكَYour servantsٱلصَّـٰلِحِينَthe righteous"﴾﴾[النَّمْلِ:[An-Naml:١٩]19]
And said: "And We granted him goodness in the world, and indeed, he is from the righteous in the Hereafter" [An-Nahl]. And the Friend said: "O Lord, grant me judgment and make me join the righteous" [Ash-Shu'ara]. And Joseph said: "Let me die as a Muslim, and join me with the righteous" [Yusuf: 101]. And said Solomon: "And admit me by Your mercy into Your righteous servants" [An-Naml: 19].
وَقَالَAnd saidٱلنَّبِيُّ ﷺthe Prophet, peace be upon him,فِيinٱلْحَدِيثِthe narrationٱلصَّحِيحِthe authenticٱلْمُتَّفَقِagreedعَلَىuponصِحَّتِهِits authenticityلَمَّاwhenكَانُواthey wereيَقُولُونَsayingفِيinآخِرِthe lastصَلَاتِهِمof their prayers:ٱلسَّلَامُpeaceعَلَىuponٱللَّهِAllahقَبْلَbeforeعِبَادِهِ،His servants,ٱلسَّلَامُpeaceعَلَيْهِمbe uponجِبْرِيلَGabrielٱلسَّلَامُpeaceعَلَىuponمِيكَالَMichaelٱلسَّلَامُpeaceعَلَىuponفُلانٍ،so-and-so,فَقَالَThen he said to usرَسُولُ ٱللَّهِ ﷺthe Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him,ذَاتَone day:إِنَّIndeedٱللَّهَAllahهُوَisٱلسَّلَامُ،peace,فَإِذَاso ifقَعَدَone sitsأَحَدُكُمْamong youفِيinٱلصَّلَاةِ،prayer,فَلْيَقُلْlet him say:ٱلتَّحِيَّاتُThe greetingsلِلَّهِto Allahوَٱلصَّلَوَاتُand the prayersوَٱلطَّيِّبَاتُand the good deedsٱلسَّلَامُpeaceعَلَيْكَbe upon youأَيُّهَاOٱلنَّبِيُّProphetوَرَحْمَةُand mercyٱللَّهِof Allahوَبَرَكَاتُهُ،and His blessings,ٱلسَّلَامُpeaceعَلَيْنَاbe upon usوَعَلَىand uponعِبَادِthe servantsٱللَّهِof Allahٱلصَّـٰلِحِينَ،the righteous servants,فَإِذَاthen ifقَالَهَاhe says itأَصَابَتْit reachesكُلَّeveryعَبْدٍservantصَالِحٍrighteousلِلَّهِof Allahفِيinٱلسَّمَاءِthe heavenوَٱلْأَرْضِ»and the earth."
And said the Prophet, peace be upon him, in the authentic narration agreed upon its authenticity when they were saying in the last of their prayers: "Peace be upon Allah before His servants, peace be upon Gabriel, peace be upon Michael, peace be upon so-and-so." Then he said to us one day: "Indeed, Allah is peace; so if one of you sits in prayer, let him say: 'The greetings to Allah and the prayers and the good deeds. Peace be upon you, O Prophet, and Allah's mercy and blessings. Peace be upon us and upon the righteous servants of Allah.' Then if he says it, it reaches every righteous servant of Allah in the heaven and the earth."
وَقَدْAnd thereيُذْكَرُis mentionedٱلصَّـٰلِحُthe righteousمَعَwithغَيْرِهِ،others,كَقَوْلِهِas His sayingتَعَالَىthe Most High:(فَأَوْلَـٰئِكَ(And they areمَعَwithٱلَّذِينَthose whoأَنْعَمَbestowedٱللَّهُAllahعَلَيْهِمupon themمِّنَofٱلنَّبِيِّينَthe prophetsوَٱلصِّدِّيقِينَand the truthfulوَٱلشُّهَدَاءِand the martyrsوَٱلصَّـٰلِحِينَ)and the righteous)
And there is also the mention of the righteous with others, as in His saying the Most High: "And they are with those upon whom Allah has bestowed His grace, of the prophets, the truthful, the martyrs, and the righteous."
[ٱلنِّسَاءِ[An-Nisa::٦٩]69]قَالَHe saidٱلزُّجَّاجُAl-Zajjajوَغَيْرُهُ:and others:ٱلصَّـٰلِحُThe righteous::ٱلْقَآئِمُthe one who upholdsبِحُقُوقِthe rights ofٱللَّهِAllahوَحُقُوقِand the rights ofعِبَادِهِ،His servants,وَلَفْظٌand the termٱلصَّـٰلِحُthe righteousخِلَافٌis contrary toٱلْفَاسِدِ،the corrupt,فَإِذَاand whenأُطْلِقَit is usedفَهُوَit is the one whoصَلَحَis righteousفِيin allأَمْرِهِhis affairsفَلَمْso notيَكُنْbeفِيهُin himشَيْءٌanythingمِّنَofٱلْفَسَادِ،corruption,فَٱسْتَوَتْand his inner selfسَرِيرَتُهُis upright,وَعَلَانِيَتُهُ،and his outer behaviorوَأَقْوَالُهُand statementsوَأَعْمَالُهُand deedsعَلَىuponمَاwhatيُرْضِيpleasesرَبَّهُ،his Lord,وَهَذَاand thisيَتَنَاوَلُincludesٱلنَّبِيِّينَthe prophetsوَمَنْand those who areدُونَهُمْ.below them.
Al-Zajjaj and others said: "The righteous is the one who upholds the rights of Allah and the rights of His servants, and the term 'the righteous' is contrary to 'the corrupt'. When it is used, it refers to the one whose affairs are righteous, with nothing of corruption in him, so his inner self is upright and his outward behavior, statements, and deeds are in accordance with what pleases his Lord. This includes the prophets and those below them."
وَلَفْظُAnd the termٱلصِّدِّيقُthe truthfulقَدْhasجُعِلَbeen madeهُنَاhereمَعْطُوفًۭاconjunctiveعَلَىtoٱلنَّبِيِّينَthe prophets.. وَقَدْAnd there hasوَصَفَdescribedبِهِby itٱلنَّبِيُّونَthe prophetsفِيin
And the term 'the truthful' has been made conjunctive to 'the prophets'. And there has been a description by it for the prophets.
