لِلْمُؤْمِنِينَ،For the believers,وَأَمَرَهُمْand He commanded themمَعَهَاwith itبِالشُّكْرِto be gratefulكَمَاasقَالَHe saidتَعَالَى:the Exalted:﴿يَأَيُّهَاOالَّذِينَthose whoءَامَنُواbelievedكُلُواeatمِنْofطَيِّبَاتِthe good thingsمَاwhatرَزَقْنَاكُمْWe have provided for youوَأَشْكُرُواand be gratefulلِلَّهِto Allah﴾ [البقرة: ١٧٢].﴾ [Al-Baqarah: 172].
For the believers, and He commanded them to be grateful for it as He said: ﴿O those who believed, eat of the good things We have provided for you, and be grateful to Allah﴾ [Al-Baqarah: 172].
وَفِيAnd inصَحِيحِauthenticمُسْلِمٍMuslimعَنْfromالنَّبِيِّthe Prophetأَنَّهُthat heقَالَsaidإِنَّIndeedاللَّهَAllahلَيَرْضَىis pleasedعَنْwithالْعَبْدِthe servantأَنَّwhenيَأْكُلُhe eatsالأُكْلَةَa morselفَيَحْمَدَهُand praises Himعَلَيْهَاfor itوَيَشْرَبُand drinksالشَّرْبَةَa sipفَيَحْمَدَهُand praises Himعَلَيْهَا».for it."
And in Sahih Muslim from the Prophet that he said: "Indeed Allah is pleased with the servant when he eats a morsel and praises Him for it, and drinks a sip and praises Him for it."
وَفِيAnd inسُنَنِthe Sunanابْنِof IbnمَاجَةَMajahوَغَيْرِهِand others: الطَّاعِمُthat eatsالشَّاكِرُthe gratefulبِمَنْزَلَةٍis likeالصَّائِمِthe fastingالصَّابِرِ»the patient."(١) .(1) .
And in the Sunan of Ibn Majah and others: 'The one who eats and is grateful is like the one who fasts and is patient.' (1)
وَكَذَلِكَAnd likewiseقَالَhe saidلِلرُّسُلِ:to the messengers:﴿يَأَيُّهَاOالرُّسُلُmessengers,كُلُواeatمِنَofالطَّيِّبَاتِthe good thingsوَاعْمَلُواand doصَالِحًا﴾righteous﴾ [Al-Mu’minun: 51].[المؤمنون: [the believers: ٥١]. 51].
And likewise, He said to the messengers: ﴿O messengers, eat of the good things, and do righteous﴾ [Al-Mu’minun: 51].
وَقَالَAnd He saidتَعَالَى:the Exalted:﴿أُحِلَّتْ﴾ It is made lawfulلَكُمfor youبَهِيمَةُthe livestockالْأَنْعَامِof the animalsإِلَّاexceptمَاwhatيُتْلَىis recitedعَلَيْكُمْupon youغَيْرَnot toيُحِلَّىmake lawfulالصَّيْدِthe huntingوَأَنْتُمْwhile you areمُحْرِمٌ﴾in a state of ihram﴾ [Al-Ma'idah: 2].[المائدة: [the table spread: ٢]. 2].
And He said the Exalted: ﴾ It is made lawful for you the livestock of the animals except what is recited upon you not to make lawful hunting while you are in a state of ihram﴾ [Al-Ma'idah: 2].
وَقَالَAnd He saidالْخَلِيلُthe friend: ﴿وَارْزُقُوا﴾ And provideأَهْلَكُمْfor those whoمِنَofالثَّمَرَاتِthe fruitsمَنْwhoءَامَنَbelievedمِنْهُمْamong themبِاللَّهِin Allahوَالْيَوْمِand the Dayالآخِرِ﴾of Resurrection﴾ [Al-Baqarah: 126].[البقرة : [Al-Baqarah:١٢٦]. 126].
And the friend said: ﴾ And provide for those among them who believed in Allah and the Day of Resurrection﴾ [Al-Baqarah: 126].
قَالَHe saidاللَّهُAllahتَعَالَى:the Exalted:﴿وَمَن﴾ And whoeverكَفَرَdisbelievesفَأُمَتِّعُهُI will grant him enjoymentقَلِيلًاbrieflyثُمَّthenأَضْطَرُّهُI will drive himإِلَىtoعَذَابٍa punishmentالنَّارِof the Fireوَبِئْسَand what a terribleالْمَصِيرُdestination
Allah the Exalted said: ﴾ And whoever disbelieves, I will grant him enjoyment briefly, then I will drive him to a punishment of the Fire, and what a terrible destination﴾ [Al-Baqarah: 126].
فَالْخَلِيلُSo the friendإِنَّمَاonlyدَعَاinvokedبِالطَّيِّبَاتِfor the good thingsلِلْمُؤْمِنِينَfor the believersخَاصَّةً،specifically,وَاللَّهُand Allahإِنَّمَاonlyأَبَاحَmade lawfulبَهِيمَةَthe livestockالْأَنْعَامَof the animalsلِمَنْfor those whoحَرَّمَforbadeمَاwhatحَرَّمَهُHe forbadeاللَّهُAllahمِنَofالصَّيْدِhuntingوَهُوَwhile he isمُحْرِمٌ،in a state of ihram,وَالْمُؤْمِنُونَand the believersأَمَرَهُمْHe commanded them toأَنْ يَأْكُلُواeatمِنَofالطَّيِّبَاتِthe good thingsوَيَشْكُرُوهُ،and be grateful to Him,وَلِهَذَاand for thisمَيَّزَdistinguishedسُبْحَانَهُHe, exaltedوَتَعَالَىand exaltedبَيْنَbetweenخِطَابِthe addressالنَّاسِto the peopleمُطْلَقًgenerallyوَخَاطَبَand the address ofالْمُؤْمِنِينَthe believersفَقَالَHe said﴿يَأَيُّهَا﴾ Oالنَّاسُpeople,كُلُواeatمِمَّاof whatفِيis inالْأَرْضِthe earthحَلَالًاlawfullyطَيِّبًاgoodlyوَلَاand do notتَتَّبِعُواfollowخُطُوَاتِthe footstepsالشَّيْطَانِ،of the Devil,إِنَّهُIndeed, heلَكُمْis to youعَدُوٌّan enemyمُّبِينٌclear.إِنَّمَاIndeed, heيَأْمُرُكُمcommands youبِالسُّوءِto evilوَالْفَحْشَاءِand immorality,وَأَنْand to sayتَقُولُواthat you sayعَلَىaboutاللَّهِAllahمَاwhatلَاnotتَعْلَمُونَ)you know."وَإِذَاAnd whenقِيلَit is saidلَهُمُto themاتَّبِعُواfollowمَاwhatأَنزَلَHe has revealedاللَّهُAllahقَالُواthey saidبَلْratherنَتَّبِعُwe will followمَاwhatأَلْفَيْنَاwe foundعَلَيْهِupon itآبَاءَour fathers.تَاءَYetأَوْorلَوْifكَانَwereآبَاؤُهُمْtheir fathersلَاnotيَعْقِلُونَunderstandشَيْئًاanythingوَلَاand do notيَهْتَدُونَ﴾guide themselves."[البقرة].[Al-Baqarah].
So, He only permitted people to eat from the earth under two conditions: that it be good and that it be lawful, then He said: ﴿O people, eat of what is in the earth lawfully and goodly, and do not follow the footsteps of the Devil, for indeed he is to you an enemy clear. Indeed, he commands you to evil and immorality, and to say about Allah what you do not know." And when it is said to them, 'Follow what Allah has revealed,' they say, 'Rather, we will follow what we found our fathers upon.' Even if their fathers understood nothing and were not guided." [Al-Baqarah].
فَإِنَّمَاIndeedأُذِنَpermittedلِلنَّاسِfor peopleأَنْtoيَأْكُلُواeatمِمَّاfrom whatفِيis inالْأَرْضِthe earthبِشَرْطَيْنِunder two conditions:أَنْthatيَكُونَit beطَيِّبًا،good,وَأَنْand thatيَكُونَit beحَلَالًا،lawful,ثُمَّthenقَالَ:He said:﴿يَأَيُّهَا﴾ Oالَّذِينَthose whoءَامَنُواbelievedكُلُواeatمِنْofطَيِّبَاتِthe good thingsمَاwhatرَزَقْنَاكُمْWe have provided for youوَأَشْكُرُواand be gratefulلِلَّهِto Allahإِنْifكُنتُمْyou areإِيَّاهُto Himتَعْبُدُونَ،you worship.إِنَّمَاIndeed,حَرَّمَHe has forbiddenعَلَيْكُمُfor youالْمَيْتَةَthe dead meatوَالدَّمَand bloodوَلَحْمَand the fleshالْخِنزِيرِof the swineوَمَاand whatأُهِلَّhas been dedicatedبِهِfor other thanاللَّهِ﴾Allah﴾ [Al-Baqarah],فَأُذِنَSo He permittedلِلْمُؤْمِنِينَthe believersفِيinالأَكْلِeatingمِنَofالطَّيِّبَاتِthe good thingsوَلَمْand He did notيَشْتَرِطْconditionاَلحَلَّ،the lawfulness,(١)(1) وَهُوَand it isحَدِيثٌa hadithصَحِيحٌ.authentic.وَانْظُرْAnd seeصَحِيحٌauthenticسُنَنِSunanالتُّرْمِذِيِّal-Tirmidhi--بِاخْتِصَارٍwith briefالسَّنَدِthe chain of narration٢٠٢١،2021,وَandصَحِيحٌauthenticسُنَنِSunanابْنِIbnمَاجَةَMajah--بِاخْتِصَارٍwith briefالسَّنَدِthe chain١٤٢٧،1427,وَمُسْنَدِand the Musnadالْإِمَامِof the Imamأَحْمَدَ»Ahmed"بِرَقَمٍwith number٧٧٨٩،7789,وَصَحِيحٌand authenticالْجَامِعِthe جامعالصَّغِيرِsmall٣٩٤٢،3942,وَسِلْسِلَةٍand a seriesمِنَofالْأَحَادِيثِhadithsالصَّحِيحَةِauthentic.
So He permitted the believers to eat from the good things without conditioning the lawfulness, (1) and it is an authentic hadith. And see the authentic Sunan of al-Tirmidhi - with brief chain 2021, and the authentic Sunan of Ibn Majah - with brief chain 1427, and the Musnad of Imam Ahmed" with number 7789, and the authentic جامع الصغير 3942, and a series of authentic hadiths.
