The difference between Islam and Faith.
مَعْنَىMeaningالإِسْلَامِof Islamوَالْإِيمَانِand Faithإِذاifاجْتَمَعَاtogetherفِيinكَلَامِthe Speechالنَّبِيِّof the Prophet.
Meaning of Islam and Faith if they come together in the Speech of the Prophet.
حَدِيثٌHadith:: «الْمُسْلِمُ“The Muslimمَنْis one whoسَلِمَis safeالْمُسْلِمُونَthe Muslimsمِنْfromلِسَانِهِhis tongueوَيَدِهِand his hand.
Hadith: “The Muslim is one who is safe from the tongue and hand of the Muslims...”.
ثَلاثٌThreeدَرَجَاتٌdegreesمَاwhatبَيْنَis betweenالإِسْلَامِIslamوَالْإِيمَانِand Faithوَالاِحْسَانِand Excellenceمِنْofالدِّينِthe Religion.
Three degrees that are between Islam, Faith, and Excellence in the Religion.
الْعُمُومُGeneralityوَالْخُصُوصُand Specificityوَكَذَلِكَas well asالرِّسَالَةُthe Messageالْنُّبُوَّةُand Prophethood.
Generality and Specificity, as well as the Message and Prophethood.
اِسْمُThe nameالْإِيمَانِof Faithيُذْكَرُis mentionedمُفَرَدًاin singular form,وَتَارَةًand sometimesيُذْكَرُis mentionedمَقْرُونًاin conjunction.
The name of Faith is mentioned in singular form, and sometimes it is mentioned in conjunction.
إِذاIfذُكِرَmentionedالْإِيمَانُFaithمَعَwithالإِسْلَامِIslam,, فَالْإِسْلَامُthen Islamهُوَisالْأَعْمَالُthe deeds الظَّاهِرَةُthat are apparent,وَالْإِيمَانُand Faithهُوَisمَاwhatفِيis inالْقَلْبِthe heart,وَإِذاand ifذُكِرَmentionedمُجَرَّدًاaloneدَخَلَencompassesالإِسْلَامَIslamوَالْأَعْمَالَand the good deedsالصَّالِحَةَthat are righteous.
If Faith is mentioned with Islam, then Islam is the apparent deeds, and Faith is what is in the heart. If mentioned alone, it encompasses Islam and the righteous deeds.
اِسْمُThe nameالْإِيمَانِof Faithإِذاwhenأَطْلِقَfreedيَتَنَاوَلُit includesفِعْلَthe actالْوَاجِبَاتِof Obligationsوَتَرْكًاand leavingالمُحَرَّمَاتِthe prohibitions,وَمَنand whoeverنَفَىdeniesاللَّهَGodوَرَسُولَهُand His Messengerعَنْهُfrom himالْإِيمَانُFaith,فَلَاthereforeبُدَّmustأَنْthatيَكُونَhe isقَدْhaveتَرَكَleftأَوْorفَعَلَcommittedمُحَرَّمًاa prohibitive act,وَإِنand ifذُكِرَit mentionsفَضْلَthe virtueإِيمَانٍof Faithصَاحِبِهَاof its holderوَلَمand did notيَنْفُnegate it, it isفَهِيَit isمُسْتَحَبَّةٌrecommended,وَغَلَطَand it is wrongمَنْof whomقَالَsaid:إِنَّthatالْمَنْفِيَّthe deniedهُوَisالْكَمَالُthe perfectionالمُسْتَحَبُّthat is recommended.
The name of Faith, when freed, includes the act of Obligations and leaving the prohibitions. Whoever denies Faith from God and His Messenger must have left or committed a prohibitive act. If it mentions the virtue of Faith of its holder and does not negate it, it is recommended. It is wrong to say that the negated is the recommended perfection.
تَفْسِيرٌInterpretationقَوْلِهِof His sayingتَعَالَىthe Exalted:: ﴿لَا“You will notتَجِدَfindقَوْمًاa groupيُؤْمِنُونَwho believeبِاللَّهِin Godوَالْيَوْمِand the Dayالْآخِرِthe Lastيُوَادُّونَare friendly to...... تَرَىyou will seeكَثِيرًاmanyمِنْهُمْof themيَتَوَلَّوْنَsupport thoseالَّذِينَwhoكَفَرُواdisbelieved...
Interpretation of His saying: “You will not find a group who believe in God and the Day of the Last friendly to... you will see many of them support those who disbelieved...”.
وَمَنAnd whoeverيَتَوَلَّهُمْassociates with themمِنْكُمْfrom youفَإِنَّهُthen surely heمِنْهُمْis one of them.
And whoever has association with them from you, then surely he is one of them.
إِنَّمَاIndeedالْمُؤْمِنُونَthe believersالَّذِينَwhoآمَنُواhave believedبِاللَّهِin Godوَرَسُولِهِand His Messenger.
Indeed, the believers are those who have believed in God and His Messenger.
إِذاIfكَانَthe one who is
If the believer is the one who is.
الْمُؤْمِنُthe Believerالْحَقُthe trueالْفَاعِلُactiveلِلْوَاجِبَاتِof the Obligationsالْتَّارِكُthe one who leavesلِلْمُحَرَّمَاتِthe prohibitions.
the true believer is the one who is active in fulfilling Obligations and leaves the prohibitions.
