قَالَsaidأَبُوAbuعَبْدِAbdاللَّهِAllah
Abu Abdillah said.
قَالَsaidاللَّهُAllahتَعَالَىThe Exalted
Allah, the Exalted, said.
لَتَدْخُلُنَّYou will certainly enterالْمَسْجِدَthe mosqueالْحَرَامَthe SacredإِنifشَاءَHe willsاللَّهُAllah
You will certainly enter the Sacred Mosque, if Allah wills.
الْفَتْحُAl-Fath::٢٧27
(Al-Fath: 27).
أَيThis meansإِنthat indeedهَذَاthisاسْتِثْنَاءٌis an exceptionبِغَيْرِwithoutشَكٍّdoubt
This means that this is an exception without doubt.
وَقَالَAnd saidالنَّبِيُّthe Prophetﷺ ﷺ
And the Prophet ﷺ said.
فِيaboutأَهْلِthe people ofالْقُبُورِthe graves:: وَإِنَّاand indeed weإِنifشَاءَHe willsاللَّهُAllahبِكُمْwith youلَاحِقُونَwill follow
And indeed we will follow you, if Allah wills.
أَيThis meansلَمْnotيَكُنْbeيَشُكُّdoubtفِيinهَذَاthis,,وَقَدْandاستثناهhe excluded it,,وَذَكَرَand mentionedقَوْلَthe sayingالنَّبِيِّof the Prophetﷺ ﷺ
This means that there is no doubt in this, and he excluded it, and mentioned the saying of the Prophet ﷺ.
وَعَلَيْهَاAnd upon itنَبْعَثُwe will be resurrectedإِنifشَاءَHe willsاللَّهُAllah
And upon it we will be resurrected, if Allah wills.
يَعْنِيmeaningمِنْfromالْقَبْرِthe grave
Meaning from the grave.
وَذَكَرَAnd mentionedقَوْلَthe sayingالنَّبِيِّof the Prophetﷺ ﷺ
And mentioned the saying of the Prophet ﷺ.
إِنِّيIndeed, IلَأَرْجُوhopeأَنْthatأَكُونَI amأَخْشَاكُمْthe most fearfulلِلَّهِof Allah
Indeed, I hope that I am the most fearful of Allah.
قَالَHe said::هَذَاThisكُلَّهُall of itتَقْوِيَةٌstrengtheningلِلِاسْتِثْنَاءِfor the exceptionفِيinالإِيمَانِfaith
He said: This all strengthens the exception in faith.
الإِرْجَاءِAl-Irja
Al-Irja.
قُلْتُI saidلِأَبِيto AbuعَبْدِAbdاللَّهِAllah
I said to Abu Abdillah.
وَكَأَنَّكَAnd as if youلَاdo notتَرَىseeبَأْسًاany harmأَنْthatلَاnotيَسْتَثْنِيexclude?
And as if you do not see any harm in not excluding?
فَقَالَHe said:إِذَاIfكَانَthere isمِمَّنْamong those whoيَقُولُsays:الإِيمَانُFaithقَوْلٌis a statementوَعَمَلٌand actionيَزِيدُincreasesوَيَنْقُصُand decreasesفَهُوَthen it isأَسْهَلُeasierعِنْدِيfor me
He said: If he is among those who say: Faith is a statement and action that increases and decreases, then it is easier for me.
ثُمَّThenقَالَsaidأَبُوAbuعَبْدِAbdاللَّهِAllah
Then Abu Abdillah said.
إِنَّIndeedقَوْمًاa group of peopleتَضْعُفُtheir hearts weakenقُلُوبَهُمْheartsعَنْaboutالِاسْتِثْنَاءِthe exception,,كَالتَّعَجُّبِlike astonishmentمِنْهُمْfrom them
Indeed, there are a group of people whose hearts weaken about the exception, like astonishment from them.
وَسَمِعْتُAnd I heardأَبَاAbuعَبْدِAbdاللَّهِAllahوَقِيلَand it was said to him:شَبَابَةَShababaأَيّWhatشَيْءٍthingتَقُولُdo you sayفِيهِabout him?
And I heard Abu Abdillah and it was said to him: What do you say about Shababa?
فَقَالَHe said:شَبَابَةُShababaكَانَwasيَدَّعِيclaiming
He said: Shababa was claiming.
قَالَHe said:وَحُكِيَAnd it was reportedعَنْaboutشَبَابَةَShababaقَوْلٌa sayingأَخْبَثُmore vileمِنْthanهَذِهِtheseالْأَقَاوِيلِstatements,,مَاthat whichسَمِعْتُI heardعَنْfromأَحَدٍanyoneبِمَثْلِهِlike it.
And it was reported about Shababa a saying more vile than these statements, that I have not heard from anyone like it.
قَالَHe said:أَبُوAbuعَبْدِAbdاللَّهِAllah
Abu Abdillah said.
قَالَHe said:شَبَابَةُShababaإِذَاIfقَالَhe saysفَقَدْthen heعَمِلَworksبِلِسَانِهِby his tongueكَمَاasيَقُولُونَthey say,,,فَإِذَاand ifقَالَhe says,فَقَدْthen heعَمِلَworksبِجَارِحَتِهِby his limbsأَيthat isبِلِسَانِهِby his tongueحِينَwhenتَكَلَّمَhe spokeبِهwith it.
He said: Shababa said: If he says, he has indeed worked by his tongue as they say, and if he says, he has indeed worked by his limbs, that is by his tongue when he spoke with it.
ثُمَّThenقَالَsaidأَبُوAbuعَبْدِAbdاللَّهِAllah
Then Abu Abdillah said.
هَذَاThisقَوْلٌsayingخَبِيثٌevilمَاthat whichسَمِعْتُI have heardأَحَدًاanyoneيَقُولُsayبِهِitوَلَاand notبَلَغَنِيit has reached me.
This saying is evil, that I have not heard anyone say it nor has it reached me.
قِيلَIt was said toأَبِيAbuعَبْدِAbdاللَّهِAllah
It was said to Abu Abdillah.
كُنتَWere youكَتَبْتَyou wroteعَنْaboutشَبَابَةَShababaشَيْئًاanything?
Were you able to write anything about Shababa?
فَقَالَHe said:نَعَمYes,كُنتُI wroteكَتَبْتُwrittenعَنْهُabout himقَدِيمًاa long time agoيَسِيرًاa littleقَبْلَbeforeأَنْthatنَعْلَمَwe knowأَنَّهُthat heيَقُولُsaysبِهَذَاthis.
He said: Yes, I wrote about him a long time ago before we knew that he says this.
قُلْتُI saidلِأَبِيto AbuعَبْدِAbdاللَّهِAllah
I said to Abu Abdillah.
كَتَبْتَDid you writeعَنْهُabout himبَعْدَafter?
Did you write about him afterward?
قَالَHe said:لَاNoوَلَاand notحَرْفٌa letter.
He said: No, not a letter.
قِيلَIt was said toأَبِيAbuعَبْدِAbdاللَّهِAllah
It was said to Abu Abdillah.
يَزْعُمُونَThey claimأَنَّthatسُفْيَانَSufyanكَانَwasيَذْهَبُgoingإِلَىtoالِاسْتِثْنَاءِthe exceptionفِيinالإِيمَانِfaith?
They claim that Sufyan was going to the exception in faith?
فَقَالَHe said:هَذَاThisكَلَامٌstatementبَاطِلٌis invalid.
He said: This statement is invalid.
رَوَاهُNarrated byمُسْلِمٌMuslimوَأَحْمَدُand Ahmadوَغَيْرُهُمَاand othersفِيinحَدِيثِthe narrationالسَّلاَمِof peaceعَلَىuponأَهْلِthe people ofالْقُبُورِthe graves.
Narrated by Muslim and Ahmad and others in the narration of peace upon the people of the graves.

Narrated by Ahmad and Ibn Majah with a good chain and it will come before the end of the book.

Narrated by Muslim, and the author will repeat it in full.
قُلْتُI said:شَبَابَةُShababaثِقَةٌis trustworthyمُحْتَجٌّis citedبِهِby himفِيinالصَّحِيحَيْنِthe two authentic (books)وَقَدِand indeedرَوَىnarratedالْخَطِيبُthe Khatibفِيinتَرْجَمَتِهِhis biographyمِنْfrom«"تَارِيخِهِhistory
I said: Shababa is trustworthy, is cited by him in the two authentic books, and indeed the Khatib narrated in his biography from his history.

(299/9) from Abu Zur'ah that he returned from Al-Irja and said: Faith is a statement and action.
