يُنفِقُونَThey spendأَوَلَيْكَAre theyهُمُThey areالْمُؤْمِنُونَthe believersحَقًّاtruly
They are the true believers.
هَذَاThisكُلُّهُallوَاجِبٌis obligatory,,فَإِنَّfor verilyالتَّوَكُّلَthe relianceعَلَىonاللَّهِAllahوَاجِبٌis obligatoryمِنْofأَعْظَمِthe greatestالْوَاجِبَاتِobligations,,كَمَاjust asأَنْthatالإِخْلاَصَsincerityلِلَّهِto Allahوَاجِبٌis obligatory,,وَحُبَّand loveاللَّهِof Allahوَرَسُولِهِand His Messengerوَاجِبٌis obligatory,,وَقَدْand hasأَمَرَcommandedاللَّهُAllahبِالتَّوَكُّلِto relyفِيinغَيْرِother thanآيَةٍverseأَعْظَمَgreaterمِمَّاthan whatأَمَرَHe commandedبِالْوُضُوءِthe ablutionوَالْغُسْلِand the washingمِنَfromالْجُنَابَةِmajor impurityوَنَهَىand prohibitedعَنْaboutالتَّوَكُّلِthe relianceعَلَىonغَيْرِother thanاللَّهِAllah,,قَالَHe saidتَعَالَىthe Most High::﴿فَاعْبُدُهُSo worship Himوَتَوَكَّلْand relyعَلَيْهِon Him..
This is all obligatory, for reliance on Allah is one of the greatest obligations, just as sincerity to Allah is obligatory, and the love of Allah and His Messenger is obligatory. Allah has commanded to rely in other than the verse greater than what He commanded with ablution and washing from major impurity, and prohibited reliance on other than Allah.
وَقَالَAnd He saidتَعَالَىthe Most High::اللَّهُAllahلَاThere is noإِلَٰهَdeityإِلَّاexceptهُوَHeوَعَلَىand uponاللَّهِAllahفَلْيَتَوَكَّلِshould relyالْمُؤْمِنُونَthe believers.
And He, the Most High, said: "There is no deity except He; and upon Allah should the believers rely."
وَقَالَAnd He saidتَعَالَىthe Most High::وَإِنْAnd ifيَنْصُرْكُمُHe aids youاللَّهُAllahفَلَاthen there is noغَالِبَvictorلَكُمْfor youوَإِنْand ifيَخْذُلْكُمْHe forsakes youفَمَنthen whoذَاis it thatيَنْصُرُكُمْwill aid youمِّنْafterبَعْدِهِHimوَعَلَىand uponاللَّهِAllahفَلْيَتَوَكَّلِshould relyالْمُؤْمِنُونَthe believers.
And He, the Most High, said: "And if Allah helps you, no one can overcome you; but if He forsakes you, who is there that can assist you after Him? And upon Allah should the believers rely."
وَقَالَAnd He saidتَعَالَىthe Most High::وَقَالَAnd saidمُوسَىMosesيَقُومُHe standsإِنIfكُنتُمْyou areوَآمَنتُمand you have believedبِاللَّهِin Allahفَعَلَيْهِthen rely on HimتَوَكَّلُواrelyإِنIfكُنتُمْyou areمُّسْلِمِينَMuslims.
And He, the Most High, said: "And Moses said, 'If you have believed in Allah, then rely on Him if you are Muslims.'"
وَأَمَّاAs forقَوْلُهُHis saying::﴿الَّذِينَThose whoإِذَاwhenذُكِرَmentionedاللَّهُAllahوَجِلَتْtrembleقُلُوبُهُمْtheir heartsوَإِذَاand whenتُلِيَتْare recitedعَلَيْهِمْto themوَآيَاتُهُHis versesزَادَتْهُمْincrease themإِيمَانًاin faith﴾﴾
As for His saying: "Those who, when Allah is mentioned, their hearts tremble, and when His verses are recited to them, it increases their faith."
فَيُقَالُIt is said::مِنْfromأَحْوَالِthe statesالْقَلْبِof the heartوَأَعْمَالِهand its actionsمَاwhatيَكُونُisمِنْfromلَوَازِمِthe necessitiesالإِيمَانِof faithالثَّابِتَةِthe establishedفِيهِin it,,بِحَيْثُsuch thatإِذَاifكَانَone isالْإِنْسَانُa personمُؤْمِنًاa believer,,لَزِمَit necessitatesذَٰلِكَthatبِغَيْرِwithoutقَصْدٍintentionمِنْهُfrom himوَلَاnorتَعَمُّدٍdeliberationلَهُfor it,,وَإِذَاand ifلَمْnotيُوجَدْexistدَلَّindicatesعَلَىonأَنَّthatالإِيمَانُfaithالْوَاجِبُis requiredلَمْnotيَحْصُلْbe obtainedفِيinالْقَلْبِthe heart.
It is said: From the states of the heart and its actions, there are those that are necessary components of established faith, such that if a person is a believer, it necessitates that without intention or deliberation from him, and if it does not exist, it indicates that the required faith has not been obtained in the heart.
وَهَذَاAnd thisكَقَوْلِهِis like His saying::﴿لَا تَجِدُYou will not findقَوْمًاa peopleيُؤْمِنُونَwho believeبِاللَّهِin Allahوَالْيَوْمِand the Dayالْآخِرِthe Lastيُوَادُّونَthey loveمَنْthose whoحَادُواopposeاللَّهَAllahوَرَسُولَهُand His Messengerوَلَوْeven ifكَانُواthey wereءَابَاءَهُمْtheir fathersأَوْorأَبْنَاءَهُمْtheir sonsأَوْorإِخْوَانَهُمْtheir brothersأَوْorعَشِيرَتَهُمْtheir clanأُو۟لَـٰئِكَsuch are theyكَتَبَin writingفِيinقُلُوبِهِمُtheir heartsالإِيمَانَfaithوَأَيَّدَهُمand He supported themبِرُوحٍwith a spiritمِنْهُfrom Him﴾﴾
And this is like His saying: "You will not find a people who believe in Allah and the Last Day loving those who oppose Allah and His Messenger, even if they were their fathers, or their sons, or their brothers, or their clan; such are they in whom He has written faith in their hearts and has aided them with a spirit from Him."
فَأَخْبَرَكَHe informedأَنْتَthat youلَاdo notتَجِدfindمُؤْمِنًاa believerيُوَادُّwho lovesالْمُحَادِينَthe opponentsاللَّهَAllahوَرَسُولَهُand His Messenger,,فَإِنَّfor verilyنَفْسَthe essenceالإِيمَانِof faithيُخَالِفُopposesمَوَادَّتَهُمْloving themكَمَاasيُنَفِّيit negatesأَحَدٌoneمِنَofالضَّدَّينِthe oppositesالْآخَرِthe other,,فَإِذَاso whenوُجِدَfoundالإِيمَانُfaithانْتَفَىits oppositeوَهُوَwhich isمُوَالَاةٌthe alliance withأَعَدَاءِthe enemiesاللَّهِof Allah,,فَإِذَاthus ifكَانَwasالرَّجُلُthe manيُوَالِيlovesأَعْدَاءَthe enemiesاللَّهِof Allahبِقَلْبِهِwith his heart,,كَانَit isذَٰلِكَthatدَلِيلًاan evidenceعَلَىthatأَنَّtheقَلْبَهُhis heartلَيْسَis notفِيهِin itالإِيمَانُthe faithالْوَاجِبُthe obligatory.
He informed you that you will not find a believer who loves the opponents of Allah and His Messenger, for the essence of faith opposes loving them just as it negates one of the opposites; so when faith is found, its opposite is denied, which is the alliance with the enemies of Allah. Therefore, if a man loves the enemies of Allah with his heart, that is evidence that his heart does not contain the obligatory faith.
وَمَثَلُهُAnd similarlyقَوْلُهُHis saying::﴿تَرَىYou seeكَثِيرًاmanyمِنْهُمْof themيَتَوَلَّوْنَturn toالَّذِينَthose whoكَفَرُواdisbelievedلَبِئْسَHow evilمَاwhatقَدَّمَتْhas precededلَهُمْfor themأَنفُسُهُمْtheir soulsأَنَّthatسَخِطَangryاللَّهُAllahعَلَيْهِمْupon themوَفِيand inالْعَذَابِthe punishmentهُمْthey areخَالِدُونَeternalوَلَوْAnd ifكَانُواthey wereيُؤْمِنُونَbelieversبِاللَّهِin Allahوَالنَّبِيِّand the Prophetوَمَاand whatأُنزِلَwas revealedإِلَيْهِto himمَاthey would notاتَّخَذُوهُمْtake themأَوْلِيَاءَas allies.وَلَكِنَّBut indeedكَثِيرًاmanyمِنْهُمْof themفَسِقُونَare rebellious
And similarly, His saying: 'You will see many of them turning to those who disbelieved. How evil is what has preceded for them, that Allah is angry with them, and they are eternal in the punishment. And if they were believers in Allah and the Prophet and what was revealed to him, they would not take them as allies. But indeed, many of them are rebellious.'
فَذُكِرَSo it mentionedجُمْلَةًan entireشَرْطِيَّةٍconditional statementتَقْتَضِيthat necessitatesأَنَّهُthat itإِذَاifوُجِدَfoundالشَّرْطُthe conditionوُجِدَthe foundالْمَشْرُوطُthe necessaryبِحَرْفٍby the particle«لَو»'if' whichتَقْتَضِيnecessitatesمَعَwithالشَّرْطِthe conditionانتِفَاءَthe negationالْمَشْرُوطِthe requirement,,فَقَالَso He said﴿وَلَوْAnd ifكَانُواthey wereيُؤْمِنُونَbelieversبِاللَّهِin Allahوَالنَّبِيِّand the Prophetوَمَاand whatأُنزِلَwas revealedإِلَيْهِto himمَاthey would notاتَّخَذُوهُمْtake themأَوْلِيَاءَas allies.﴾﴾
It mentioned an entire conditional statement that necessitates that if the condition is found, the necessary requirement is found, using the particle 'if' which necessitates with the condition the negation of the necessary requirement, so He said: 'And if they were believers in Allah and the Prophet and what was revealed to him, they would not take them as allies.'
