أَوْلَـٰئِكَThoseأَصْحَابُcompanionsٱلْجَنَّةِof Paradiseهُمْtheyفِيهَاin itخَالِدُونَare eternal
Those are the companions of Paradise; they will be in it eternally.
وَفِيAnd inحَقِّthe caseٱلْكَافِرِينَof the disbelieversأُولَـٰئِكَThoseأَصْحَابُcompanionsٱلنَّارِof Hellfireهُمْtheyفِيهَاin itخَالِدُونَare eternal
And in regard to the disbelievers, those are the companions of Hellfire; they will be in it eternally.
أَقُولُI sayإِنَّthatقَوْلَهُhis sayingوَأَهْلُand the peopleٱلْجَنَّةِof ParadiseفِيinٱلْجَنَّةِParadiseخَالِدُونَare eternal
I say that his saying about the people of Paradise being in Paradise eternally indicates that forgiveness for disbelief is not logically permissible according to us.
الخِetc.إِشَارَةٌan indicationإِلَىtoأَنْthatٱلْعَفْوَthe forgivenessعَنِforٱلْكُفْرِdisbeliefلَاdoes notيَجُوزُpermitعَقْلًاby reasonعِندَنَاaccording to usخِلَافًاcontrary toلِلْأَشْعَرِيِّto Al-Ashariوَتَخْلِيدَand the eternal punishmentٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَof the believersفِيinٱلنَّارِthe fireوَتَخْلِيدَand the eternal punishmentٱلْكَافِرِينَof the disbelieversفِيinٱلْجَنَّةِParadiseعِندَهُaccording to himيَجُوزُis permissibleعَقْلًاreasonablyأَيْضًاalsoوَعِندَنَاand according to usلَاdoes notيَجُوزُis permissibleلِأَنَّbecauseٱلْحِكْمَةَwisdomتَقْتَضِيrequiresٱلتَّفْرِقَةَthe distinctionبَيْنَbetweenٱلْمُحْسِنِthe good doerوَالْمُسِيءِand the wrongdoerوَلِهَذَاAnd thereforeاستبعدGod excludedٱللَّهُGodٱلتَّسْوِيَةَthe equivalenceبَيْنَهُمَاbetween themلِقَوْلِهِdue to His sayingتَعَالَىٰexaltedأَمْDo weنَجْعَلَmakeٱلَّذِينَthose whoآمَنُواbelievedوَعَمِلُواand didٱلصَّـٰلِحَـٰتِthe righteous deedsكَالْمُفْسِدِينَlike the transgressorsفِيinٱلْأَرْضِthe earthأَمْorنَجْعَلَdo we makeٱلْمُتَّقِينَthe righteousكَٱلْفُجَّارِlike the wickedأَمْorأَحَسِبَdo they thinkٱلَّذِينَthose whoاجْتَرَحُواcommittedٱلسَّيِّـَئَاتِthe sinsأَنْthatنَجْعَلَهُمْwe make themكَٱلَّذِينَlike those whoآمَنُواbelievedوَعَمِلُواand didٱلصَّـٰلِحَـٰتِthe righteous deedsسَوَاءٌthe sameمَحْيَاهُمْtheir livesوَمَمَاتُهُمْand their deathsسَاءَevil isمَاthat whichيَحْكُمُونَthey judge
And thus, it is stated by the commentator, our evidence and theirs are elaborated further in the explanation; and Allah knows best.
تَـمَّةٌContinuationفِيinٱلْتَّرْغِيبِthe encouragementوَٱلْتَّرْهِيبِand the warningوَغَيْرِهِمَاand others
Continuation in encouragement, warning, and others.
ٱلْتَّرْغِيبِEncouragementفِيinذِكْرِthe mentionٱلْجَنَّةِof Paradise
Encouragement in the mention of Paradise.
عَنْAboutأَبِيAbuهُرَيْرَةَHurairaرَضِيَMay Allah be pleased with himعَنْهُwith himقَالَsaidقُلْنَاWe saidيَاOرَسُولُMessengerٱللَّهِof AllahحَدِّثْنَاInform usعَنْaboutٱلْجَنَّةِParadiseمَاwhatبِنَاؤُهَاits construction
About Abu Huraira, may Allah be pleased with him, he said: We said, O Messenger of Allah, inform us about Paradise, what is its construction?
قَالَHe saidلُبْنَةٌA brickمِنْofذَهَبٍgoldوَلُبْنَةٌAnd a brickمِنْofفِضَّةٍsilver
He said: A brick of gold and a brick of silver.
نَعِيمٌThe pleasureأَهْلِof the peopleٱلْجَنَّةِof Paradise
The pleasure of the people of Paradise.
