وَعَلَاAnd saidيَاOمَلَائِكَتِيMy angelsقَدْIndeedأَخَذْتُI have takenرُوحَهُhis soulوَتَرَكَتُand leftمَالَهُhis wealthلِغَيْرِهُto othersوَزَوْجَتَهُand his wifeفِيinحَجْرٍthe lapغَيْرِهِ،of others,وَجَارِيَتَهُand his slave girlلِغَيْرِهُto othersوَضَيَاعَتَهُand his propertiesلِغَيْرِهُto othersوَأَحِبَّائَهُand his loved onesلِغَيْرِهُto othersفَيُسْأَلُSo he will be askedفِيinبَطْنِthe wombالأَرْضِof the earthفَلَمْand he did notيَجِبْrespondعَنْaboutأَحَدٍanyoneإِلَّاexceptعَنِّيme.

And said: O My angels, I have taken his soul and left his wealth to others, and his wife in the lap of others, and his slave girl to others, and his properties to others, and his loved ones to others. He will be asked in the womb of the earth, and he did not respond about anyone except me.

فَقَالَThen he saidاللَّهُAllahرَبِّيMy Lordوَمُحَمَّدٌand Muhammadنَبِيٌّis a Prophetوَالْإِسْلَامُand Islamدِينِيis my religion.

And he said, 'Allah is my Lord, and Muhammad is the Prophet, and Islam is my religion.'

لِتَعْلَمُواSo that you may knowأَنَّنِيthat Iأَعْلَمُknowمَا لَاwhat youتَعْلَمُونَdo not know.

So that you may know that I know what you do not know.

كَذَاThusفِيinدَقَائِقِthe detailsالأَخْبَارِof news.

Thus in the details of news.

فَصْلٌSectionالْجَنَّةُParadiseوَالنَّارُand Hellحَقٌّare trueوَهُمَاand they areمَخْلُوقَتَانِcreatedالْآنَnowلَاnotتَفْنَيَانِcease to exist.

Paradise and Hell are true, and they are created now; they do not cease to exist.

قَالَThe author saidالمُصَنِّفُthe compilerأَبُوAbuحَنِيفَةُHanifaرَضِيَmay Allah be pleasedاللَّهُwith Allahعَنْهُabout him.

The author Abu Hanifa, may Allah be pleased with him, said:

وَنُقِرُّand we affirmبِأَنَّthatالْجَنَّةَParadiseوَالنَّارَand Hellحَقٌّis true;وَهُمَاand they areمَخْلُوقَتَانِcreatedالْآنَnow;لَاdo notتَفْنَيَانِcease to exist.

And we affirm that Paradise and Hell are true; they are created now; they do not cease to exist.

وَلَاAnd norيَفْنَىceaseأَهْلُهَاits inhabitants.

And nor do its inhabitants cease to exist.

لِقَوْلِهِFor His sayingتَعَالَىthe Exaltedفِيinحَقِّthe truth ofالمُؤْمِنِينَ:the believers:أَعَدَّتْI have preparedلِلْمُتَّقِينَ"for the righteous"وَفِيAnd inحَقِّthe truth ofالْكَافِرِينَthe disbelievers;أَعَدَّتْI have preparedلِلْكَافِرِينَfor the disbelievers.خَلَقَهُمَاBoth were createdلِلثَّوَابِfor the rewardوَالْعِقَابِ)and punishment)أَقُولُI sayقَالَthe peopleأَهْلُthe people ofالسُّنَّةِthe Sunnahوَالجَمَاعَةِand the Congregationنَصَرَهُمْmay Allah support themاللَّهُAllahسَبْعَةٌsevenلَاdo notتَفْنَىcease to exist;الْعَرْشُthe Throneوَالْكُرْسِيُّand the Chair;لِيfor me;وَاللَّوْحُand the Tablet,وَالْقَلَمُand the Pen;وَالْجَنَّةُand Paradise;وَالنَّارُand Hellبِأَهْلِهَاwith its inhabitants;وَالْأَرْوَاحُand the soulsيَدُلُّto indicateعَلَيْهِon it;الْقَوْلُthe sayingتَعَالَى:the most exalted:«"وَيَوْمَAnd the Dayيُنْفَخُhe blowsفِيintoالصُّورِthe trumpet,فَفَزِعَand frightenedمِنfromفِيwho is inالسَّمَاوَاتِthe heavensوَمِنand fromفِيwho is inالأَرْضِthe earthإِلَّاexceptمِنthose whoشَاءَwillsاللَّهُ»Allah"يَعْنِيMeaningالْجَنَّةَParadiseوَالنَّارَand Hell;بِأَهْلِهَاwith its inhabitants;مِنofمَلَائِكَةِangelsالْعَذَابِof punishment,وَالْحُورِand the Hurisالْعَيْنِof the eye;كَمَاasفِيinبَحْرِthe oceanالْكَلَامِof discourse.

And the Day when the trumpet is blown, frightened will be those in the heavens and those on the earth, except for those whom Allah wills.' meaning Paradise and Hell with their inhabitants, of angels of punishment, and the Huris of the eye, as it is in the ocean of discourse.

مُلْخَصًاIn conclusion,فَإِنْifقِيلَit is saidيُرَدُّis refutedعَلَيْكُمْto you;قَوْلُهُHis sayingتَعَالَىthe Exalted:كُلُّEveryشَيْءٍthingهَالِكٌperishesإِلَّاexceptوَجْهَهُ"His Face.'"أُجِيبُis responded;لَا يُرَدُّit is not refutedبِمَاby whatتَقَدَّمَis statedمِنfromالِاسْتِثْنَاءِthe exception,++وَأَيْضًاAnd alsoقَالَsaidالْقَسْطَلَانِيAl-Qastalaniفِيinتَفْسِيرِthe interpretationقَوْلِهِHis sayingتَعَالَى:the Exalted:

In conclusion, if it is said, 'Every thing perishes except His Face.' it is responded; it is not refuted by what is stated from the exception. And also Al-Qastalani said in his interpretation of His saying the Exalted:
